I get the feeling some "fans" want T-mart to say sorry, to apologize for throwing picks. Like, he did it on purpose or something. Here is a newsflash, he is trying his best.

Here we ago again. If you question his skill set you attack him. Teach....please go in and add the same response to the Fischer and DB threads. Come on, you know what I mean, don't you? Look, saying that a guy is a "bad tackler" is not the same as saying some of the things about T-mart. If you want, copy and paste my response and put it in that other thread you mentioned.

This might come as a shock to you, so you may want to sit down. Taylor Martinez isn't a pro athlete. He's a college student. He's not earning millions of dollars a year, he's on scholarship. He is dealing with the pressure, he's just doing it in a way that the press doesn't like. I say screw the press. I will be on the side of the college student 100% of the time in that scenario. You'd have to have seen the context in which he's been shredded by the press and fans around here to have a better understanding of why he answered those questions the way he did. He wasn't joking when he said it didn't matter how he answered the questions, he'd still get ripped for it. Just look at the responses to this thread, and other threads around here. There are people who call themselves Husker fans who act like they hate the guy. I agree, it's embarrassing. Any QB at a big school gets ripped. SEC QBs get ripped. Russell Wilson will get ripped if he has a bad game. Kellen Moore got ripped last season after losing to Nevada. Zac Lee got ripped. Zac Taylor got ripped. Sam Keller got ripped. Should I keep going? And you all know who you are, the ones who ripped on Zac Lee and then come back and call us bad fans when we rip Martinez. Any QB that comes to a big time football program should be expecting to take lumps after a bad game/season, its just the way it is. "Just the way it is" That doesnt mean its right, does it?

Taylor is not that bad at passing, and he needs to pass if he is the quarterback. Manning does not need to run, and he simply cannot run. Sorry, the analogy breaks down there. Unless you are suggesting to call a comparable number of passes by Taylor as the Colts would call runs with Manning. Which would average to around 0 times a game. Manning, in college, could run a bit, hell he was an all-state basketball player I think. The guy could get around. I am talking about Manning in college. The analogy works, it makes perfect sense, again.

What he said is right, the players know it. He is ashamed of how they prepared them, how they played, how they finished.

No, look, not to be "coach guy" but I have coached for a long time. I never have and don't know any coach that has done this. It is really easy, coaches want to win and they play the guys they think will do the best job. Are they always right? No, of course not. Do some guys suck in practice and do great in games? Of course! Does it sometimes take an injury for that next player to get in? Sure.

This is not UF or UT or OSU where coaches will be lining up for the job. It has nothing to do with the name, with the tradition of the facilities but it has everything to do with the recruiting. NU is not an easy play to recruit.

Maybe try looking at it this way. Lets say you had Peyton Manning back there, the halftime score is 27-14, you are down by 13 points. You come out of the half getting the ball, with a real chance to get right back in the game. I mean, you have Manning as your QB. So you start the new half with, wait for a it, a QB draw. Sound kind of dumb? It is, because Manning is not a good runner. Some might even say that even in college he was a poor runner. Now, think again, lets say you had a QB that was a great runner and good running backs but the QB is not good at passing. Would you call for him to start that half with a pass or a run? Think, think, wait for it, nope. You would probably have that great running QB start the half with some kind of running play!

People need to realize that the other team is trying too. I know some don't want to admit it but the other team is not only trying really hard but also has good players and sometimes they even have BETTER players. Good lord, the Vegas line was -10! I know, I know, the Vegas line doesnt mean that they think that team is going to win by 10 blah blah blah. Look, there is a reason that the favorite wins most of the time, they might not cover, but they usually win. Wisconsin was the better team, period. Now, if they did not have Wilson this year, then this game is totally different but lets face it, he is playing lights out right now. This is about one team being lots better on one night. It happens. Then you had Beck who admitted that he panicked a bit and called some poor plays that he wished he could have back. He will learn from that. The team will improve.

1. The idea that there is next year and next year and so on is legit but at the same time you have to do things this year too. 2. If some of these younger guys don't start getting more reps, which I think they should, you are going to see some guys leaving.

The guy wants to play. No one that is sitting should be happy about it, thats what competition is all about. I think sometimes we think that these are 12 year old girls and boys that are going to go "tell on each other" and "cry" that they were called out. They won't, they will be just fine.

AM like all teams that run the WCO suck in the second half. Defensive coaches (at the college level) always say the same thing, "once the WCO guys get off their script, they are easy to figure out" College football and high school football is about mismatches not timing routes.

These guys are usually not even die hard CFB fans, so the hassle (yes it is a hassle) of coming to a campus for the weekend to watch a game is not something they plan just to see a game. These are not 40 year old men. These are kids.

This is only a big deal if you bet on the game. If not, get over it.
