Look, no QB or any player is going to look happy when they get yanked. A leader doesnt have to stand there and fake clap for another guy, some guys need to sit down and think things out, play it over in their head. This is like getting mad at a person for not reacting the way you want them to react when a family member passes away. We all deal with things our own way, just because it might not be YOUR way it doesnt mean its the wrong way. I have coached football for 10 years now have had kids deal with things all different ways, there is no one perfect way. I think that people assume that if a kid gets yanked and then doesnt stand there smiling that they are mad at the coach or the team, not usually, usually they are mad at themselves.

Few things and I have coached for 10 years, no I am not an expert just telling you the things that I have seen and coached with/against. 1. The offense doesnt have to wait for the defense UNLESS the offense has made a substituion then the defense can also sub while the refs hold the play up. 2. The defense can sub anytime they want, even if the offense doesnt sub. 3. Many defenses that play a no huddle team will tackle and "lay" on the ball carrier for an extra count or two, slowing things up. 4. Defenses just need to make sure they tackle there is no need to get exotic. 5. The Ducks run a few select passing plays (I wish I had the link to the article but I dont), they are simple reads, fly routes, screens and crosses routes. They stay away from out routes which are hard to complete.

This is best case for NU. NU beats OSU and Mizzo wins. Next week, Mizzo comes to Lincoln undefeated and ranked probably 5? and NU is ranked around 12? NU wins that game and wins out, OU wins out you have two teams in the Big 12 Championship game ranked in the top 10 (at the very worst) with 1 loss each.

Good call on the QB draw, I dont remember one during the UT game. I would think that screens would work too. If you have two guys spying on the QB and in theory bracketing him as he moves or rolls out, then you could think you could roll to one side a few steps and screen the other way.

Well I think you have to remember that this is a new offense too, not the crap coast offense anymore.

People that are worried about a strong running attack need to realize that when NU plays a team like that, that NU will plan to defend it. Look, I have coached football for 10 years now and when we play a spread team, we prepare for that and change things. When we play a power running running team, we prepare for that and change things. My guess is that for a power running team like say, Kstate, we might see 5 Dlinemen in the game, with two linebackers and 5 DBs.

I think that people who are worried about physical practices have to remember that just as many injuries (if not more) happen from non-contact drills. When a kid jumps, there is a chance he will land wrong, when they make a sharp cut there is a chance something will tear. Its not like they are making these kids run into brick walls or hitting them with sledge hammers.

I agree with the above post and would even say that most 12th graders that have been playing football for 4 seasons would make most of the posters here seem weak.

It doesnt matter why they come to the campus, its all about what you do/tell them when they are on campus. Its like a date, it doesnt matter why the hottie said yes, it just matters what happens on the date.

I agree. I actually enjoyed 810 when I lived in Lawrence/KC for 6 years but 610 is a joke. KK sucks on 810 but the rest of the people seemed decent and without an agenda. Chicago talk radio is TERRIBLE!!!! Chicago talk radio is pretty bad and almost NEVER talks about college football.

Taking visits can be draining. You are finishing up your game Friday night, catch a plane, get picked up, get taken around to a million different things before the game, watch the game, do tons of things after the game and then more meetings on Sunday and you are flying back home. After about two or three of those they probably start to seem tiring. Its all about the connection you make while on one of those trips.

No kidding! If this is an 11am game it will be tough for me to catch it all. Freaking Saturday coaching obligations!

Unless things have changed, at Lincoln the CGD crew sets up outside. I think that there is just not enough room inside the stadium but like I said things could have changed with how they are able to set things up now. I am starting to get this bad feeling that the UT game will be at 11am.
