  1. Since graduating college I have paid over face value for tickets one time. I just don't know how you can't find a cheaper get them for free.
  2. Well.... http://preseason.stassen.com/consensus/2017.html Yank. Neither NW or Minny will beat us this year or finish ahead of us. Take that to the bank. I don't think they will either, (or you're looking at a house cleaning), but it seems that nobody expects anything from NU this year. Which is fine with me at this point. I don't understand it...but...OK. I really don't get it either. When Riley was hired all we heard was how amazing he was at Oregon State, how he did so much more with so much less. Now, that he has so much more as far as talent, staff, support and facilities...those same "writers" seem to be turning on him or have forgotten was they said in the past or clearly did not mean what they said. He is actually getting less respect now than he did while going 5-7 at OSU. We won 9 games last year with a QB that was a horrible fit for the type of offense this staff wants to run and knows how to run well along with a bad DC. Now, we have a multiple QBs in the system that are custom fit for this offense and they have been in the system for over a year......along with what everyone agrees is going to be an upgrade at DC .......and we are going to do worse????? Exactly, I don't get it. I am starting to think that the Riley love from the past was a bunch of BS. "Heck, he is a great guy and sometimes he upsets a really good team...we might as well say he is awesome and just needs to be at a school with tons of resources" But it seems clear they didn't mean it
  3. Yeah, I can see that but the QB is a huge upgrade and so is the DC... Oh well, who knows! We will see how it all plays out!

  5. I forgot about the track resurfacing in 2008, but that is literally something every stadium has to do. Funny thing is, it had bubbles almost immediately just like before so it has to be replaced this summer (16 years my ass) and they are also doing it half-assed again because the NSAA doesn't pay for any of it and OPS does very little in athletic facilities for Burke. Never has. Every time Burke had raised money in the past, we were told we couldn't have it because it wouldn't look right because it is in West Omaha. I have taught and coached at 3 OPS schools and I can tell you from being at those and traveling to other schools for events Burke easily has facilities in the bottom 5 of all Class A schools in the state. I'm not talking out of my ass, I am a track coach at Burke. I know what I am talking about. The Rosenblatt scoreboard was donated, by the way. Edit: Timing system updated???? You obviously have no idea how track meets are timed. A company is hired that sets all of that up before the meet. None of that is in the stadium except for some poles at the finish lines to hang the company's cameras on. Sadly, OPS treats Burke like crap... A lot of people know why that is and hopefully it starts to change but I doubt it will. And any teacher that had to work with "Dr." Frison...I am sorry for you and I hope that you are still in one piece.
  6. Saunders, I love this thread, thanks! I usually hit up the pool with the magazines and read them while I stare at girls through my sunglasses. Now I just read them from your links.
  7. The glove thing was great...if you are a Husker fan. It was classes and mean if you are an AM fan. If the glove thing was reversed there would be many many many Husker fans being cry baby bitches about it.
  8. Miller is a prick. Buck is a dork and hopefully is kissing his fathers ass for his job. On top of that, I wonder what I would shoot at a US Open course (Not the one Miller played on because of course we know that shooting anything under 150 would be almost unheard of) but I usually shoot in the 80s on easy courses and 90's on harder courses. I would guess that playing from the tips on a course set up for a US Open I would be lucky to shoot a 125.
  9. Wow, 9 is low or at it seems low to me. If they end up "9th" in Big Ten I have a feeling that there will be a lot of "who will the new HC at NU be" threads.
  10. Fantastic Supreme Court ruling! Comments from the pissed off crowd on Twitter are classic.

  11. OMG you guys...he's had multiple concussions. We better bench him and not let him play and every time his name is brought up, argue whether we should let him in the game. Sorry, got confused a bit there...we only do that for Zach Darlington. Haha! Love it
  12. No one would cover the topic of… Not taking the word of an eight-year-old as gospel truth…
  13. Puts less stress on shoulders and elbows which are common football injuries. Also helps with your posture so you can be more upright. Some lifters really struggle with keeping good posture and having your hands on the handles in front of you allow you to keep your head and chest up. It is a safer lift for athletes to still get the benefits of traditional rear squat. So does he need to have a lower hold on the squat rack? Otherwise isn't he doing as much as he can? He could grab lower on the rack with his hands. They have handles to put in the rack that you can grab onto them and not hold the rack, but he is just grabbing the rack. Maliek Collins had a video of him doing 785 pounds as a reference, but Maliek went a little deeper in the squat. And In the end...he is lifting for football...not a power lifting competition.
  14. You don't know. That could very well be the next step! Then you're getting married, popping out a couple little ones, then you know, your life is basically over. Is that what you want? Ha! I am unfollowing him right now!
  15. A dad in Indiana (I think) just shot and killed his 9 year old daughter while teaching his two sons about gun safety. So sad.
  16. Good lord, it is a follow on Twitter...the dude isn't asking to move in and live with you.
  17. Probably means we can stop bitching about the former coach still getting his payout.
  18. I am with you...I am glad he is dead...just wish it was in about 30 days.
  19. And your heirs don't deserve massive amounts of unearned wealth. Especially compared to feeding, clothing, housing, and educating our society. Not to mention supporting all the infrastructure that made your wealth possible. Do what you want to do with your money and possessions. I will do what I want with mine. If you want to give all of yours away to people that are not your family, go for it!
  20. If football teams can have rivals...can posters have rivals?!?!

    1. StPaulHusker

      StPaulHusker

Yes but usually one of them gets banned shortly after said rivalry gets going

      That is probably true!

  21. Yep... Hate is usually what makes a rival... Losing to Iowa SUCKS...losing to Illinois or Purdue is just shocking...there is a difference.
  22. This is a homerun. Period. Working in schools and coaching as long as I have I see the same thing play out when it comes to doing fundraisers. God forbid if certain people don't give...
  23. Ha...No kidding! Those guys lie all the time. So do I in my job though..."No no, I think your son is a great kid!"
  24. I agree...if my family was rich (sadly they are not) I would, when they passed away, feel entitled to that money. I think most of us would. I bet Buffets kids are more than a little pissed that he is going to give away 99% of his wealth when he dies. Do the kids need it? Probably not, but I am sure they want it.
