    Reasons I watch games. 1. Nebraska is one of the teams playing 2. I bet on the game That is it. I don't care if it is #1 Bama vs #2 LSU...if I didn't bet the game it won't be as high on my list as a Northwestern vs Purdue game if I have cash on that one. All of us will watch the Nebraska game, doesn't matter if it is Friday or Saturday...doesn't matter what station.

    If Nebraska was a top 15 team it might be a trap game...but this is a game where the line will probably be under 10.

    It is interesting to see some of the flip-floppers about certain topics, I must admit I enjoy seeing that people can change their mind about things. Like I said in my post above, most schools get out in front of this.

    Totally agree and lets face it...in the end no one really cares. Academic smack talk is not really all that much fun.

    I'd be fine with it. Then again, I'm always fine with any result, but boiling everything down into W's and L's does a disservice to how good a team is or can be. If we lose to OSU, Penn State and WIsconsin and they all end up in the top 10 at the end of the season, then we drop two nailbiters by less than a score each to a resurgent Top 25 Oregon team and a better Iowa or Northwestern squad, it happens. If that's the lame list, then what are we? We've lost to a lot of those teams. Every game we play with Northwestern is a nailbiter, Iowa has won 3 of the last 4, etc. What are we? A crappy 7-5 team. Look, the scenario you just gave would be a great 7-5 season for KU or Oregon St or Cal or Rutgers or Maryland or GT... But for NU it is not some great 7-5 season. It just isn't. "Every game is play with Northwestern is a nailbiter" Great...but those games should not be nailbiters. We made soooo much fun of NW and Iowa before joining the Big Ten...Now we are "okay" with close losses to them?

    The idea that 7 wins can be looked at as improvement ONLY makes sense if you are returning most of your team and especially at really important spots. Now...why some posters won't face a few simple facts is sort of funny and sad. If this team wins 6 or 7 games it will mean that it will have had to have lost some combonation of games that includes, most likely, these teams: OSU PSU Wisconsin Now, that leaves 2 or 3 more losses. Which means those 2 or 3 more losses will come from: NIU Oregon Iowa Purdue NW Minny Ark St Rutgers Illinois So, the "7 wins can show progress" crowd would really be okay with 5...3 from the "obvious" list and 2 more from the lame list? Stop it...just stop. Now, I can TOTALLY see Riley pulling a Riley...Losing to Oregon, Iowa, Wisconsin, Purdue and NW...but beating OSU and PSU and everyone creaming themselves.

    I get the hate for Texas but I also think it is pretty lame. If Nebraska had gotten everything it wanted we would be thrilled. It always works that way.

    He totally should have used special effects in his highlight video. Like the ball exploding when he kicked it or flames coming out of the back of the ball.

    I am still coaching, but I will never HC again, but I would love to hear some of your worst experiences coaching for those of you that have coached...I don't care the age or level. Coaching is coaching. I am sure ColoradoHusker can share some! I might even share some emails from crazy parents and assistant coaches.

    My buddy, a big Riley backer, says he is worried about a struggle to get 7-8 wins this year and a collapse in '18 resulting in Riley "retiring"
