Kind of on this topic, since he is now available...how many of you guys think that AD's really have a list of coaches that they would contact "just in case" they needed to find a coach. I would think Kelly, a month ago, would have been on all the AD's lists that just hired coaches...

Kelly is probably a top 10 college football coach (give or take) BUT rumors are he hates recruiting and is not a huge fan of hanging out with boosters and stuff like that... With that said, if he was in the Big 10, you could probably argue that the Big 10 would have 3 of the top 10 coaches in America.

I personally feel that "you" are always in the market...if you can find someone better you need to do that...Coaches recruit players and AD's need to be recruiting coaches. Why would Shawn Eichorst fire Mike Riley even if Chip Kelly was available? The amount of uproar around here would be monumental, even if it was a name like Kelly.By who? Or is it, whom? Going after a coach that happens to be available every season would make us look like a sink hole job. It could, I agree...but there a a few coaches out there that I feel you just have to take a look at if they are unemployed. If Urban Meyer quit today, would you want SE to call him? What about Saban? Elf, do I have the money? No...but NU sure does...and you can fire someone under contract without just cause...you just gotta pay them! Ha

I applaud Riley for taking the job and setting up his friends for life...I would have done the same exact thing and I think that most of us would have... Now with that said...SE is simply not doing his job if he doesn't send out a feeler to Chip Kelly.

There was a lot of late action on NU...this game was almost a coin-flip in the eyes of Vegas.

1. It took the coaches a lot longer to buy-in than it should have but when they finally did we saw the results. I respect them for finally buying in because it is difficult to change. 2. If UCLA did not start off dominating the way they did I would have just figured they did not want to be there but the fact is they did want to be there and they wanted to win but NU was just better. 3. I know people loved piling on TA but lets use a simple example...dunking a basketball...most of us can't do it or if we can it is a lame one handed dunk with no dribbling and it has to be from one certain spot on the floor. No coach would call plays for us to "throw one down" over and over over...Riley and Langsahan did that to TA but not last night! HUGE DIFFERENCE Also, I really just wish I could dunk a basketball again

I don't have the stats but how many coaches have gone 6-7...won the bowl game and went on to make the playoff the next year? Is is 100%?
