  1. I was wondering when we were going to discuss this topic.
  2. Does Michigan have many playmakers besides Robinson? I knew last year was a case of "if you stop Robinson, you stop Michigan". I really doubt Bo will treat him any different than any other QB so it's a moot point, really.
  3. Exactly this. He's too stubborn to use a spy. I remember him saying "no, we don't do that, we're just going to run our defense" when asked if we were going to put a spy on Tyrod Taylor. It may have worked that time, but it's exactly why Denard Robinson is going to run all over us. Because he's guaranteed to run all over us. I'm glad that you know that already. If Robinson is healthy, we play defense the way we have been, and we refuse to spy him, then yeah it's about as close to a gaurantee you're going to get in sports.
  4. I believe your post in this thread should have been It took me a second to get it.
  5. And about 1/8 the discussion of a typical Dirk making himself the story again thread.

  7. Lemme get this straight. Nebraska was so against the idea of equal revenue sharing, they defected to a conference that has equal revenue sharing. Makes sense.
  8. I didn't read all that (but I will). I think it's hilarious The Dream Team is 1-4. Also, arbitrarily promoting a long time offensive line coach to defensive coordinator is the worst decision I've ever heard of in the entire history of football.
  9. A quick search on FB for Taylor Martinez pales in comparison if you search for Joe Bauserman. Ok.
  10. You heard someone say they want to kill Taylor? And 50 people agree with him? Yes. I don't know about the 50 people agreeing with them. I don't remember any Facebook pages created about it, but I didn't really care to go looking for that type of stuff. I try to avoid it. But yeah I've heard crap up to and including that.
  11. I dunno I heard some nasty things about Martinez following the CCG and Holiday Bowl last year, and all last week. More or less on par with some of this garbage. It's all wrong. Just because other people do it doesn't make it right.
  12. During the Texas A&M game last year I jumped out of my seat after that terrible roughing the passer call and accidentally spilled my wife's Mike's Hard Cranberry and stained our carpet. I'm willing to bet that will come out of our deposit.
  13. My favorite is how everytime someone criticizes a player, coach, or the team, others manage to look down from the top of Perfect Mountain and lower their nose just long enough to tell them they are not a "True Fan" and don't deserve to root for the huskers. I will do my part - I am sorry, that as a fan, I have helped create a set of standards and expectations by which we expect this team, both players and coaches, to perform. Furthermore, I have realized that expecting players and coaches to learn from their mistakes, which will be made, is much too high of an expectation. We all expect those things. It seems to me some people are more willing to give them a chance to work towards those goals. People were lighting a fire under Bo's coaches seat last night for god's sake. If coaches and players aren't immune to criticism, why should the fans be? Good point. I guess the argument I was trying to make was that a fan is a fan. Good or Bad. Sunshine Pumper or Realist. However, we have a superb fanbase when compared across the board. This is an arrogant statement, and we are not without faults, but we treat our athletes very well compared to other schools. Just listen to Paul Finebaum's radio show, which is mostly SEC fans. They truely hate some of their own. SEC fans are a special breed, indeed.
  14. I'm curious, how many people truly believe that reporters go out of their way to anger/criticize/demean/question/rile/etc. Bo? Right here. Since it's, ya know, obvious and everything.

  16. I was wondering when you'd show up to put on the negative spin. Was begining to worry. "seems to be hitting it's stride" ≠ "fixed".
  17. The offensive line has really done it all year. They just keep pounding at guys and it wears them down.
  18. My favorite is how we sh#t on the players and coaches at every given opportunity under the guise of "being a realist".
  19. I agree, it wasn't a terribly important thing to ask at the time. But that's how Dirk operates - sometimes you has to take risks to get to the good stuff. People freak out on him cause Bo doesn't like him, they need to realize he's doing his job. OWH doesn't just go around hiring scrubs. Making the media and himself the story is not part of his job as a reporter. If he were a columnist that might be different. But he's now the Fox News of Nebraska football reporting. One of the biggest story lines the past two season is how the media likes to piss Bo off and then to chastise him for getting the reaction they were trying to get. Shouldn't the beat reporter actually cover the beat and not be it? I will bet that most everything he does now will be more about making a lot of noise to draw attention to himself and the OWH than covering the team. In the end they be like ... oh yeah we'll throw in a bit of football so it looks like we're trying to cover that objectively. As a former journalist he's embarrassing to me and the exact example of what we were taught not to do. Someone made the comment about handling Dirk in private. Its been done more than once. And Bo addressing this clown is nothing on the time TO took a guy to task and made him look like a fool. Nail on the head here da skers. Couldn't agree more.
  20. Can it be done? We have a bye this week, and a light scrimmage against the Minnesota Goofers next week. Then in three weeks we start a pretty tough stretch of the schedule. Our defense did make some key stops in the game against OSU, which was great to see. Although it was against a horrible offense which lost Braxton Miller. In no way is the defense "back". Is three weeks enough time to shore up a lot of the problems we've been seeing on the defense this year? I think we're plenty talented enough, we just don't seem to be playing with good fundamentals. I think Carl hit the nail on the head when he said the guys are overcoached and spend too much time thinking instead of just going out and playing. I'm not talking about reaching '09 level of play in that time. Just enough that we're a respectable defense that doesn't hamstring the offense which seems to be hitting it's stride.
