  1. IMO, Dillard really forced their hand. The locker room had to fire back, and publicly. Well. . .most people realize Dillard is a tool. Well I didn't want to be the one to say it. But in my personal experiences, I have to agree with this.
  2. Why are people so blind about this guy? He's 54.9% with 6 interceptions. Take out his best game and he's 50.3% with 6 interceptions. Take out Taylor's best game and he's 48.8% with 5 interceptions. Where in the hell is the huge difference here? Denard has better hair. I'll give him that. But where did people get the idea that he's a good passer? He did do pretty good throwing the ball last year in Rich Rod's system. This year, yeah, not so much.
  3. One of the craziest plays ever was in the '95 game against Colorado. Tommie pump-faked while he was being tackled then completed a pass for a big gain. One of the damnedest things I've ever seen.
  4. Who is whining to the press?
  5. Which further proves my theory that da skers is a wizard.
  6. Maybe she was on the rag. It happens.
  7. Phil is entitled to his opinion. But I think it was childish, in poor taste, and reflects poorly on him as a person and a representative of Nebraska football.
  8. I agree. As the week progresses, my instincts tell me that OSU is going to come out and score and score often. Earlier in the week I had OSU by 3 points and scoring in the low 20pt range. I am beginning to sense that OSU might be good for 30+ points --- and if we aid them in any way (turnovers, short fields, etc.) they could hit high 30's or more. They did shred Colorado and our D and the Colorado D are likely not very far removed from one another. MSU has a D that is vastly superior to our D (at this point in time) --- OSU, and even their fans who are posting here, are laying in the woods --- the Buckeyes have more overall talent than Wisconsin has (though the Badgers have a great QB and OSU has a young soon-to-be great QB who is not there yet). OSU does not go from where they were to a team that "sucks" that fast. They have been bad, but they will right that ship. Last year I posted before the Texas game that we need to watch out --- most here saw a win over the Horns and I (and some others, though we were in the smaller camp) felt that the Horns would win. When you take teams that talented lightly because they are struggling... they often come back and slap you. Usually talented teams that are struggling struggle against teams that they take lightly --- against teams that are on the big stage and they desperately need to win... they often rise up. Of course, in this whole post, it has been OSU cast as the talented team under-performing (and rightly so)... but NU is also a talented team (albeit not as talented as OSU) who is also under-performing. So we might play better than our "normal" game too. That is what makes this game so interesting and, at the same time... tough to predict... two teams of classic excellence that are spiraling downward... which one fails to lose this game? On the flip side of that, Miami's defense pretty much shut down OSU's offense. And Miami's D might be worse than ours. So this game is really hard to predict, and it is hard to put a lot into stats. It seems like Ohio State has a Jeckel and Hyde offense, whereas Nebraska's defense has just been consistantly bad. I'm not conceding victory to OSU, but I don't understand where we're getting the confidence that we're going to be able to shut down their offense.
  9. Miller reminds me of Jamal Turner, a lot.
  10. I don't understand the "Ohio State may not even score" sentiment. I don't think people realize Michigan State is #1 in total defense in the entire country. Just because their defense pretty much shut down OSU's offense, doesn't mean we will. Yeah, I get their offense is bad. But our defense is worse. Colorado was shredded by OSU and it would be a stretch to say Nebraska's defense is as "good" as Colorado's.
  11. Don't tell me that when we're having to remove threads ripping into our QB. Maybe everyone didn't see it, but there was a lot of hate directed at him after the game. I don't hate him. I just think his skillset is better suited for another position. That's all. Since you removed those threads I can't speak to that, but I saw mostly people who are concerned about his ability to play QB. If that's hating then I guess we Nebraska fans are too sensitive. The name childish name calling is quite prevalent. T-Ragic? Please. Grow the F up. Yes he sucked, but he wasn't alone. Well if you are bold enough to give YOURSELF a nickname, then you should be prepared to deal with unflattering offshoots. I believe Niles Paul gave him that nickname. Or at least I think he said he did. EDIT: I was mistaken, actually Paul didn't know where the nickname came from. P.J. Smith said he didn't think Taylor gave the nickname to himself. http://huskerextra.com/sports/football/article_f7c0e708-b6f6-11df-98b9-001cc4c002e0.html
  12. I couldn't even be bothered to read the link before, but after this I feel compelled.
  13. That's true, it's always a bad idea to get away from the fundamentals. This should be a great learning year for Bo and his staff. I doubt he'll completely let the wheels fall off this season.
  14. My grandpa became a Nebraska football fan in the early 1940s. His first twenty years of fandom was the worst twenty years in program history. Whenever we're in meltdown mode these days, it's always great to talk to him and get some perspective. It makes threads like this just seem silly.
  15. That makes sense, da skers. We need to focus on the basics with all the youngins on the roster. We should be better next year, but I highly doubt we'll see another defense play at the level of the '09 unit. That was something special.
  16. The first thing they should probably change is their tampons. Too facetious? I got nothin'.
  17. Ha ha. You're not the first person to tell me that. I put in a request to one of the Admins on the first day I joined for a user name change because I didn't realize that there was already an "EZ-E." So I told the Admin that I wanted to be fair to "EZ-E" and I was requesting a name change, but I have not heard back from him yet. If you have any suggestions on how I could speed up the process of changing my user name I am all ears. Thanks Dude! No problem, Duke. It was just odd that you started posting here with the EZE name the same day EZ-E stated that he was leaving this joint until after Halloween.
  18. Apparently it was a misunderstanding. There was a sign on the dispenser that said "Pull Down, Tear Off".
  19. Besides the bone-headed penalties, the I thought the offensive line had a pretty good game.
  20. Whoa bro. That's a little harsh. Take it back.
  21. You'd have to have seen the context in which he's been shredded by the press and fans around here to have a better understanding of why he answered those questions the way he did. He wasn't joking when he said it didn't matter how he answered the questions, he'd still get ripped for it. Just look at the responses to this thread, and other threads around here. There are people who call themselves Husker fans who act like they hate the guy. I agree, it's embarrassing. Any QB at a big school gets ripped. SEC QBs get ripped. Russell Wilson will get ripped if he has a bad game. Kellen Moore got ripped last season after losing to Nevada. Zac Lee got ripped. Zac Taylor got ripped. Sam Keller got ripped. Should I keep going? And you all know who you are, the ones who ripped on Zac Lee and then come back and call us bad fans when we rip Martinez. Any QB that comes to a big time football program should be expecting to take lumps after a bad game/season, its just the way it is. He was taking lumps after Tenn-Chatt, Fresno, Washington, and Wyoming. We're very likely 2-2 in those games without him. Now that we lose, it's a full-on character assassination, and it's embarrassing to read/hear. But I guess it's just the way it is. As long as other people do it, it's alright.
  22. ...is terrible. I think we can put to rest the myth that Bill Callahan is a great offensive line coach. Sure they were great when he first got there, but in my opinion that had a lot more to do with personnel. They have only gotten worse since he's been there. Which is a common theme anywhere he goes.
