  1. Fraizer wasn't exactly known as a speed demon. The line on him was "he isn't the biggest guy, the fastest guy, or the best passer but all he does is win". Still he was about a million times better at running the football than Cody Green. The only run I remember him having was against a GASSED Sun Belt team. Weird comparison.
  2. Aw someone didn't get a bid. Seriously, this comment offers what, exactly? I'm guessing you're a frat guy since you took offense. Because of that I'll also assume your reading comprehension is off. Go back to the beginning of the thread and figure out the joke you're missing. Oh no you din't.
  3. Wait... Tramel said this? The f*_king universe is unravelling.
  4. to Joe Schad for providing Cody's passing stats. As if those are the only measurables for a QB. Why don't people who cover college football for a living ever learn that running QBs can be winners at this level? Passing is not the only stat that matters for college QBs. Cody will make his living with his legs, not his arm. He's not a passing QB, per se. Yikes.
  5. Valid point. Who, outside of Nebraska, actually heard of Nebraska before 1996???
  6. Eh didn't Boise lose a million-bajillion starters? I'm so sick of hearing about them, I hope someone shuts down their chances early.
  7. From the right angle & distance the statue looks perverse enough.
  8. Or back when they could actually make a big play without worrying about getting flagged for playing too rough. Football really is a shell of it's former self.
  9. Hopefully some this Nebrass kissing on the Big Ten Network will make some recruits from Big Ten territory pay more attention to us.
  10. To be fair, I don't think huskerfan333157 said anything about us having a bad defense, just one that's not as good. Our defense wasn't "as good" after we lost Suh. So it's not entirely unfair to think we might not be as good after losing someone as good as Prince. Losing Suh, Dillard, and Asante had an obvious affect on our run defense. So it's reasonable to think losing Prince, Hagg, and Gomes will have an affect on our pass D. But all things considered, I wouldn't be surprised at all if we have a better defense this year.
  11. His comments about the Bengals made me chuckle, it's still true to this day.
  12. The point is our defense wont be as good as last year. Our secondary was the best secondary in the nation and we lost three playmakers in prince, gomes and hagg. Our defense will probably go down a notch but will still be a good d We lost both O'Hanlon and Asante and still had the best secondary in the country last year. The point is Bo kinda has an idea what he's doing over there and we have the depth now to reload. I don't automatically agree our defense will be worse this year. In fact, you could make a strong argument that we will have a better defense this year. The line is more experienced, and we're more experienced at LB. We're really only replacing 1 starter in the secondary considering we'll most likely be running a lot more 4-3 this year. Although I do agree it won't be easy to replace Prince. Also, you cant really compare Safeties and CB's. CB's are, by far, the most important position on defense while the safeties are toward the bottom. What about our nickelback? Our dimeback? Our pass defense wont nearly be as good as last year because of losing the most important pass defense position...the cornerback! And we return a legit All-American candidate at that position in Dennard. Only a few schools in the country can say that. Only one school in the country can say they return a legit All-American candidate at all 3 levels of defense - Nebraska. We still have a pretty experienced secondary and a more experienced defense overall. You said yourself experience is vital. If our line improves, and it should (being more experienced) won't that help the secondary? Maybe our pass defense won't be as good, but will it need to be? We'll be seeing more "running" teams than we did last year. It's really hard to compare since last year we basically ran a 4-1-6 most of the year, and the coaches have already said we'll be running more 4-3-4 this year. So obviously the secondary won't be "as good" with 2 less players back there. But it won't need to be. We're still basically returning 3/4 of our starters in the secondary. Your questions about the nickel and dime are fair, but those positions aren't as big of a need as they were in the Big 12. My biggest concern is lack of depth at LB, our secondary and line are loaded. I don't see how you can say our defense won't be as good, as if it's fact. Especially with one of the best defensive minds in the universe as our coach. Maybe it won't be as good, maybe it will be better, who really knows?
  13. Hopefully that isn't just empty coach speak. I like what I hear.
  14. Eh I'd rather not have that asshat representing us, but whatevs.
  15. There's no point in being sarcastic if you have to warn people. Thank you.
