  1. Sweet Jaysus someone give Crick a little credit. He had a better season than most defensive lineman in the entire country. And how exactly do we know what kind of CB Evans will become? And when was the last time the FS spot wasn't a question mark heading into a season?
  2. I didn't start going to church just to get out of that lifestyle. I actually got myself together before I found God. Something happened in my life that I believe God was calling me back to him. You guys might think Im crazy, but thats okay. Many of my prayers have been answered. Some faster than others. For example, I love coaching little league baseball, its a passion of mine and Im good at relating to the kids. After last season, I didn't have a team to coach anymore and I thought my coaching was done until I have kids and this bummed me out. I prayed that God would give me another opportunity to coach and do what I love. Literally a week later, my mom ran into a guy she knew and he asked her what Ive been up to this summer. She told him I just finished coaching baseball. Well it just so happens that this guy was looking for someone to coach the 9 year old team for my old high school's feeder program and asked my mom to ask me if I wanted the job. Most of you will probably just say its coincidence or just sheer luck. I believe my prayer was answered and extremely quick. Its says in the Bible that God knows all the desires of our heart and he knew this was something I loved to do. This is just one example of many prayers that have been answered for me. This might be where we're running into confusion. You're assuming my opinion of the concept of God changes my opinion of you. I can assure you that's not the case.
  3. I'm willing to bet Bo literally shouted "double-u tee eff!"
  4. My comment wasn't directed at you btw. Just surprised this is still an issue.
  5. Soccer is like Nickelback. It's horrible, but great to make fun of because so many people inexplicably like it. Also, BBBBBZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ.
  6. I saw a guy planking in the swimming pool this morning.
  7. Word from a guy in the know elsewhere is that it will likely be LT-Yoshi, LG A-Rod, C Caputo, RG-Jones, and RT-Sirles. Marcel is moving to guard(he knows the line, we're trying to get our best five out there, and he's quick enough). Qvale doesn't pull quickly enough, which is important in the new scheme. Big-boy is strong though, moving to tackle. Thompson, Moudy, and Cotton will back-up at guard. Cotton could really push. Moore is probable to make the two-deep and burn his shirt. Reeves could burn his shirt too. Klatchko is less likely but possible. Sounds good to me. Yoshi has it physically, just wasn't prepared mentally last year. I like the idea of moving Marcel to gaurd and Sirles to the other side. Caputo is solid and A-Rod is a guy who Bo said is going to be one of the greats to ever play here.
  8. I have it on high authority that white people love The Wire. http://stuffwhitepeoplelike.com/2008/03/09/85-the-wire/
  9. I remember TO saying something along the lines of the walk-ons where what really fueled the passion for the program. All the schollie kids would see all the walk-ons busting their tails day in and day out for a program they loved and grew up dreaming to play for, even though a lot of them would never get a chance to play on saturdays. The schollie kids from all over the country would feed off that passion and work that much harder. Billy C. put an end to that in a hurry.
  10. Somethimes I wonder if you even follow Nebraska football.
  11. Ehh... when I said invisible, magical sky fairy I meant it quite literally. fairy: "a type of mythical being or legendary creature, a form of spirit, often described as metaphysical, supernatural or preternatural." I wasn't bashing, insulting, or using satire. Theists literally believe in an invisible, magical sky fairy. If someone actually feels persecuted by me calling a spade a spade, then they most likely have a martyr complex. Which, again, has more to do with them than me.
  12. Why? Because they don't try hard enough to control their congregation? Court rules atheism a religion “Calling Atheism a religion is like calling bald a hair colour” Like I said, by it's very definition atheism isn't a religion. That court ruling doesn't change that. Everyone on earth is born atheist until someone convinces them there's a magical, invisible sky fairy. How about that big explosion from nothingness? That is just as ridiculous to believe. Or that we evolved from monkeys. How come we aren't evolving now? Or how come there are still gorillas in the zoo? How come they don't become human. You don't know til you die, so stop insulting billions of people. Thanks! There is actual evidence that suggests we evolved, and are still evolving. There's absolutely zero evidence a magic sky fairy exists. Fact. I wasn't insulting anyone. Why would gorillas become human? They've made it this far with the evolutionary advantages they've adapted. Much like humans. It's not like we evolved from modern day gorillas or chimps. We just share a common ancestor. Evolution isn't a straight line. There's tons of literature about evolution at your finger tips, but if you're happy remaining ignorant to the subject then you're just insulting yourself. Uhmm how bout Bernadette seeing the Virgin Mary, and her talking to her at Lourdes.. That was proven. Not sure if serious but "the church says so" ≠ proven.
  13. I remember one joke going around that year that they were going to put a dome on Memorial Stadium to keep the "Frost" out. *rim shot* He wasn't very well liked as I remember it. I was only 13-14 years old that season though.
  14. Stalker... Also, when did we get lakes in Nebraska? There's nothing to do in this state right? This is an obvious photoshop. Only corn fields and buttes is my understanding.
  15. this is super rad... love the yoshi pose.... anyways this is awesome to see the team building bonding going on in this pic.. .lots of guys... can anyone spot t-magic in the photo!? just a rad pic!! its great when a team is truly a team of brothers!! Center right. About 4th or 5th in from the right. Not sure if it's him, but those ears... Edit: ehh I don't think that's him. Which arm is his tattoo on?
  16. I guess to some of us, it's not much of an insult but rather a disbelief that someone can believe it. It's kind of like someone insists on believing that the earth was flat. It's just hard to believe that such an ancient concept is still accepted. We don't see it as insulting Christians...much like you don't think you're insulting atheists by saying you'll pray for us or that we're destined for hell (I'm not saying any of you are doing that, but you know as well as I do there are Christians that do). I personally think it's disturbing that many theists believe what they do, but I try hard not to insult them. You have as much right to believe what you do as I do. And I will support your right. If it makes you feel good and be a better person, then I'll support you. That being said, the reason we "care enough about the subject", is because how much control theists have in this country. Not only socially but politically also. This. It really gets my goat that they try their damnedest to hold back scientific research and education. If you want to believe in God, you 100% have my support. If you want to hold back science and education in the name of God, you better damn well prove God is real.
