  1. 70 tackles & 9.5 Sacks for a defensive tackle is a B+ grade? I understand Suh raised the bar 'round these parts, but if he only had a B+ season it must have been a very down year for Big XII defensive lineman as he was the best. That being said I would grade Steinkuhler a little lower. He should be riding the pine if we're as deep as they say we are, unless he starts living up to those 5 stars.
  2. I carry my .44 Magnum on my hip everywhere I go. I haven't payed for a meal in years.
  3. Ya know it's a long offseason when optional gloves become a controversy. Worst controversy ever.
  4. I think there's a misconception here. This is a Blackshirt: This is a symbol licensed to market the Blackshirts: They are not the same thing. Any idiot with some money can purchase that symbol, and it doesn't make them a Blackshirt. You have to earn that plain, nondescript black jersey that the actual factual Blackshirts wear. Even if you go buy a knockoff version of that practice jersey, or if you find a former Blackshirt willing to sell his old jersey to you, you're not a Blackshirt. So I don't think there's any conflict with having that symbol on the gloves. It's just a marketing promotion, not the real deal. You know that and I know that but what is the perception nation wide? Will this dilute the tradition we're known for nation wide? Just a different view point..... I didn't know Nebraska had a glove tradition to dilute.
  5. I was actually embarrassed for him reading the second article.
  6. Kinda surprised so many people are taking issue with this. Those blackshirt gloves are amazing.
  7. No, a consistent offense is key to Huskers' title run. The defense will be rock solid.
  8. Basically yeah it's complete nonsense that TO is a Big Ten Icon, but pretty cool the Big Ten would do something so nonsensical just to go out of their way to welcome us.
  9. Eh beats playing Iowa State every year. Not as cool as playing Colorado every year though.
  10. True Grit (remake), a machete, and some darts for my blowgun.
  11. Just trying to make a point, calm down. I stand by my first post, honorable mention ALL FOR IT. As for the poster saying he was not good, how many players go 2nd round with two years play time? He didnt go to some back woods team either. The pros saw it, I saw it I know lots of Hawk fans saw it and I know lots of O's saw it. If I was putting together a team of past and present, he would be on it. Suh would be on it, just about any starter off last years Wisky O line as well. But I digress, I like the "good stories" battle back from injury, earn your spot and excell at it that much. Oh well, it's fathers day so I am going to limit my "football" talk today. HAPPY FATHERS DAY EVERYONE. I will not calm down. And happy fathers day to you too good sir.
  12. bigg10 I agree with you, but don't ever compare Pat Angerer to Ndamukong Suh.
  13. Meh. I've seen it, in person. It isn't that loud, or intimidating. beats the hell out of players just running out of the tunnel. ... have you experienced the tunnel walk??!! The best story is from the 1994 Colorado game, the first year they had the Tunnel Walk on the big screen, and when it wasn't so overproduced by Huskervision. I think the music just started, some stars flashed across the screen and then you saw the team. The team also wasn't all giddy and jumping around at that point, they were all business. Anyways, it was before the Tunnel Walk became famous, and Colorado, ranked 3rd in the country, came out of the visitor's tunnel first. Then the music started, the crowd went nuts, and Nebraska's team was up on the big screen, larger than life. Colorado's entire team was just standing on their sideline watching it. Nebraska won 24-7, and CU coach Bill McCartney later said that Colorado had lost the game before it even began. The Tunnel Walk had totally psyched them out. I have, several times, and can say that I personally think it's pretty lacking compared to a lot of other entrances across the country. Just because the very first tunnel walk ever (as we know it) was super awesome and cool and psyched out a team a long time ago doesn't compare to the tunnel walk now. Your contrarian shtick is played out homie.
  14. They should call it "The Student Section".
  15. Oh just the F up already Boobe. Nebraska to the B1G was a no brainer. If he had the chance to take a job with better pay, more job security, with better benefits, and better leadership where he'd be treated better - he'd do it in a second. Then again, he's a bumbling, mouth-breathing tardbar. Maybe he wouldn't.
  16. It's not irrelevant but it does help balance things out. Penn State offered both, which is why they were a slam dunk and Nebraska was not. When more people are watching Nebraska games than Penn State games, the market they're in is pretty much irrelevant.
  17. No one is going to confuse him with Devin Hester anytime soon ever. A part of me feels sorry for him because he was never a legit #1 or even #2 D1 receiver. He was a slot receiver who was forced into that role simply because there was a lack of other options. That being said, if you're going to complain about not getting the ball then catch the damn thing. And if you do catch it, hold on to it.
  18. Nebraska's big time national TV ratings makes the TV market more or less irrelevant.
