  3. It shames me to admit that you are entirely correct on this. I would also like to chime in on this Colorado fan base conversation. I have been to exactly three games in Colorado. I have been spit on twice and had something thrown at me twice. Trying to cover truth with psychoanalytical bullsh@t will not glaze over the fact that there are a lot of people that hve been treated despicably at Colorado football games. Thank god I have never have my car keyed though. However, I always ride to games there with my uncle who has Co plates. And no, I never instigated anything, unless you call wearing red "instigating" their fan base. As for setting any hatred dislike aside? Nope.

  5. If you would share please... Speaking of recipes: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Runzas-Bierocks/Detail.aspx = Home Made Runzas (make sure to add finely diced sauteed onion to the cabbagemix)
  6. Well, the weekend is almost here and with the bye week, we all need a little something to get us through. With that in mind, what's everyone's adult beverage of choice for Husker games? The staple is a case of Miller Light. If I'm getting fancy, its Leinenkugel's Sunset Wheat. If there's quite a few people over its Husker Punch - Hawaiian Punch, OJ, Bacardi, and Parrot Bay (+usually some Stroh as the night progresses... )
  7. My take on their fan base (and ours): They will be surprised by our DL pass rush. Everyone knows about Suh, but they underestimate the rest of the crew. I think Carl is sneaking something into the water, because he is molding some great DL's around Suh. I expect Turner and Allen to turn a few heads. When Missouri stacks against the run (and they should, especially at the beginning), Lee's arm will probably surprise them at least a little. I get the feeling that some Mizzou fan's consider him the second coming of Jeff Daily. We will be surprised by the ability of Gabbert's passing the receiver's ability to make grabs. That long route at the end of the V Tech game is Gabbert's bread and butter. Not to mention that he can buy himself time to make intermediate throws - into our VERY inexperienced linebacking crops. And lastly, they will be surprised at just how big a difference losing your offensive and defensive coordinators makes during conference play. Edit: 1. Nebraska D-line Vs. Mizzo O-line = NU 2. Nebraska O-line Vs. Mizzo D-line = Even 3. Nebraska DB's Vs. Mizzo WR's = MU 4. Nebrasaks WR's Vs Mizzo DB's = Even
  8. Let us not forget the equally horrible option that Boise State, Cincinnati, TCU, or Houston could go undefeated and be potentially playing each other in the NC game. IMO; College Football Excitment in that Scenario =
  9. Their fan bases are kinda like the monkeys at the zoo. Normally they just sit there quietly staring off into space. But then one of them gets riled up. All the sudden they're all hooting, hollering, and carrying on, while jumping around the enclosure and throwing sh1t at the spectators. Then they eventually calm down and are quiet until the next outburst.
  10. Second that list. Although Colorado is a VERY close second. Missouri does have a reason to gloat at 4-2. But that notwithstanding, they do gloat so much more and so much more spitefully than anyone this side of Colorado. Especially of late. What irks me the most, is that THIS season matters. Not the last season, not 5 years ago, and certainly not the last 40 years. Whoever wins on Oct 8th is better. So until a victory is posted, their last 3 years is no more argument than our last 40 years. Speaking of annoying fan bases, lets talk about visiting their stadiums. If I am not safe or able to watch a football game in peace, that is a serious problem. Lets talk about Colorado for a moment. I have personal experience with Colorado games - 3 to be exact. I have had food thrown at me two of those times (a partially eaten hot dog that hit me in the back of the head - it had mustard and ketchup - and an empty plastic soda glass), been spit on two times, and been threatened, told to remove my husker gear, pushed, etc at every game. With Missouri, I have never worked up the nerve to be able to go down there. But I have heard nothing but the same (as Colorado) and worse. Please correct me if I am wrong (and I hope I am, but would guess I am not), because I am reciting here-say. But everything from threats of violence to vandalism to being turned down service in restaurants and bars. Lets think about all that for a moment. I won't go to a Missouri or Colorado away game because I have to worry about my safety, my property, and being turned into a second class citizen? Thats nothing for a fan base to be proud of, and nothing for anyone to be proud of. Worst fan base? Check.

I don't know about his house, but BC had a heck of a celebrity golf tournament down there 2 summers ago. Very nice course and neighborhood. He might not have led us to the record we wanted, but he threw a good party.

Maybe there is a for sale sign in the front yard. Heck, didn't the guy get a salary raise last year? You give me a couple extra thousand a month and I would have a for sale sign up in my front yard too. Doesn't mean he's moving OUT of Lincoln.
  13. Ouch! Glad that he will make it through this injury. A video of this happening is the reason I only use dumb bells now. Can't trust those spotters...
  14. Very nice! But has anyone noticed more booing and general rudeness in the stands lately? It seems like in the last 5 years or so, the classiness of some of the fans has been on a downward trend. (You can say that the team's play over the last 5 years has encouraged this, but not a good enough excuse). Had the worst ones yet behind me for the LA game.
  15. African or European? I don't know that... AAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
  16. I think I will go with the statistics that say a dangerous running quarterback (that is 10/25 at the time) needs to be contained in the pocket more than be rushed with the chance of a sack. The call was sound, even if the results were not,
  17. Damn. You never like to hear about this kind of thing. Halloween just got a bit easier for us though. My prayers go out to Griffin and hope for a speedy and full recovery. Lord know the South needs him. As of now, it looks like the South needs all the help it can get.
  18. These announcers need to remove their tongues from Gabbert's balls. A couple completions on third down, and he's the second coming...
  19. Gotta like that push Nevada's lines are getting. Mizzou could be in for a long night on October 8th.
  20. I taped the game, and was re-watching last night. I made it to the end of the third, and was watching Zac for anything unusual. I did notice during the third quarter, that when tackled, he pushed himself up with his right hand. I would have to think that if his throwing hand is injured, he would be favoring the left hand more. Or he is just a total hard@ss. For what its worth.
  21. Go bowling. No major injuries. Play well enough to compete with any team on the schedule. Embarrass Missouri and Colorado. Yeah, especially that last one.
  22. That actually explains so much! Thanks for your amazing insight. I am now a better person for that response. (Just in case)
  23. You gotta love his ability to improvise. There were a couple plays were Va Tech's defensive line gummed up the running lane, but Helu would bounce to the outside, make a guy miss, and get 4-10 before the secondary brought him down.
