Long sustained runs of elite status like us in the 90's, FSU in the 90's, Miami in the 80's and 90's, Minnesota in the 30's, etc. won't happen anymore. There's too much attrition in the coaching ranks (assistants included) and too many good teams. USC didn't even get 7 years before they dropped out of the top 25.

I thought the TCU helmets were kind of dumb. These are the coolest helmets I've seen this year: As far as Nebraska goes-and I know I'm in the vast minority on this-but I think the white on white uniforms are sharp as hell. We had that in high school and it gave the look good-feel good-feel good-play good aura. It only works if you have white helmets though. And no, I'm not a woman. I just have impeccable style.

my first game was a loss, the don james coached huskies in memorial, night game, north endzone, fleeing memories they were, i was...just over 4 or 5. That was my first game as well. 1991 I believe. I would've been ten. I had been to almost every spring game and a bunch of coaches' clinics with my dad so I thought I knew the stadium pretty well. But nothing compares to a night game. Even though we lost it was very exciting.

I love Larry and it's awesome he's getting some pub going into the draft. There are some pretty good safties coming out this year. Him being in the top 5 at the position puts him in very good company. Although #1 (Mays) is light years ahead of the rest of the class. O'Hanlon had a great year thanks to some fantastic coaching and hard work. But I don't know if he has the tools to make it full time in the NFL. All around Marvin Sanders deserves some serious props for this year.

Me too. I think there are some guys on the staff that can recruit pretty well, but others that are very poor. Leads to big signing like Green but also complete botches like with Hill and CC. CC wasn't a botch. Our offense was flat out bad, and according to him, headed in a direction he doesn't want to play in. Nothing the coaches can really do about that. Whoa, really?

I've always considered them a rival. They always play us tough, I especially like beating them more than others. It's the last game of the year. ABC says it's a rivalry. I had friends and family in Colorado. And it's fun to have a game mean something even if it doesn't appear to on the surface.

Besides the fact that Watson is a better guy to have around than Mangino, what really is the difference in their offenses anyway? Both guys like to run out of a shotgun spread and use quick passes. The only difference is Kansas has had better receivers. I realize that's generalizing, but really, they seem pretty similar to me.

The only problem with the playcalling is that there aren't enough throws to Kinnie. The line doesn't give enough time for either qb to get through a 5 step drop or go through really any reads. But the short passes to Kinnie coming across have seemed to work pretty well. Better than the bubble screens anyway.

It'll be tough to beat Oregon based on who's recruiting him according to the rivals profile.
