  1. Unfortunately, outside of Nebraska, the only championship I can report is the 85 World Series for the Royals... when I was 3 months old. Since then, the Knicks haven't really been close. The Browns have been my team for all of a month now (not that they won anything anyway), but the Jets never won anything in my life. I'm not much of a hockey fan, but I root for the Flyers and Avs, but I can't really say they're "my teams". Heck, even in NASCAR, Mark Martin is my favorite driver, and he's come close, but no cigarillos either.
  2. I think total points is better. If you go by average, then teams near the bottom get a break because the times they aren't ranked don't go against them, inflating their average ranking. Unless you just average it out with all of the lists, but then that just gets you the same as total points, so it'd be fruitless.
  3. 1. Oklahoma 2. Alabama 3. USC 4. Oregon 5. Michigan 6. TCU 7. LSU 8. Georgia 9. Arkansas 10. Virginia Tech 11. South Carolina 12. West Virginia 13. Nebraska 14. Kansas State 15. Wisconsin 16. Washington 17. Mississippi State 18. Boise State 19. Ohio State 20. Southern Miss 21. Oklahoma State 22. Clemson 23. Texas A&M 24. SMU 25. Florida State 26. Iowa 27. Georgia Tech 28. Stanford 29. Arkansas State 30. Michigan State
  4. If Notre Dame continues to drag their feet... go after Kentucky. That's a school that I've always thought could be a possibility to the B1G, but never heard much from anyone else.
  5. Haha...we're just going around and round in circles. :-) Sure, you're right that Fonzy played great late last year but what about the other 2/3 of the season? Anyways.....let's just agree to disagree. I say we'll be improved, you say we won't. Whoever is wrong has to buy an ice cold one, deal? I tend to think we'll fill the spots better this year than last. However the fact that you're saying Fonzie was hurt most of the season doesn't really back up the argument that we'll be improved. He still won B1G defensive back of the year. To do that while being hurt is insane, and you don't just fill those shoes with a decent Andrew Green. He'll have to make huge strides. I just think we'll be better opposite Green, as opposed to the revolving door opposite Dennard last year.
  6. If these Clemson/FSU rumors come to fruition, I could see a bit of an exodus of ACC or Big East teams. I'd have to think teams like Virginia Tech or Miami would want to move for similar reasons. I could see the Big Ten going for Notre Dame and Syracuse when it's all said and done.
  7. Looks like this kid has a pretty good shooting touch. Could be another nice diamond in the rough type player.
  8. Got an e-mail from Charter about copyright infringement from my IP address. Then the wife tells me the neighbor came over last week and asked for our password so he could "do homework, nothing illegal". She has way too much trust in the good of man.

I would make a joke here, but i cant think of anything funny, so instead i will be nice... that sucks.. Luckily if it was anything illegal, you can prove it wasnt you by showing your computer and the police looking at his(if they can)

I contacted Charter and they blocked his computer from accessing our wireless and we changed the password. They said it was just a warning to up our security, and that 90% of the time when that happens, someone else is using the customer's wi-fi.

  9. Wonder how that will work with our 15th practice then.
  10. I sold NCAA 12 a month after release. I don't know if they released any patches after that, but what I played was unplayable. I don't know how many times I would play a Cover 2 or Cover 3 defense and my safeties would crash the line of scrimmage. Just a bunch of unrealistic garbage would happen, and often times it would result in a 50+ yard touchdown. Outside of Roy's big day, I don't think I can recall a single game I've seen with 3 50+ yard touchdowns, much less have it happen every other game.
  11. Watching the ESPN Films Roll Tide/War Eagle and going to commercial from "The Vault", Lou Holtz states he coached against Saban's teams at Alabama and they're just like Bear Bryant's. Did ya now Lou?

Mom, Grandpa Lou is making up stories again.

  12. agreed. i dont get the praise everyone seems to give C Green, guy has said some bad things about NU and he has been trying to get multiple players to transfer. just doesnt make any sense. Look at the people who have nothing but praise for Cody. They're typically the same people for whom Bo is most often painted in a bad light, and for whom the memory of Bill Callahan is still quite fond. We have a sect of Husker fans who just love being contrarian. I seem to remember when Cody Green decided to transfer, just about everyone was sticking up for him, saying he was classy and will always be a Husker. Then a few of us said something about how it's funny the guy who leaves gets support but Taylor stays and everyone hates him. Then we got blasted. Funny how that looks now.
  13. Why did you change teams? Is it Teblow related? Related yeah. More like it was the straw that broke the camel's back. After years of quarterback ineptitude, to see the organization "unequivically" support Mark Sanchez, and sign Drew Stanton as his backup, only to go and trade for Tebow didn't sit right with me. They seemed to hardly make a play for Manning, instead throwing support behind Sanchez. Then traded for someone who you know will be called for as soon as Sanchez starts sucking in 2012 (which probably won't be too far into the season). So in essence, Manning wasn't worth pursuing as much as Tebow? They even paid more for Tebow than they originally thought they would, that's how bad they wanted him. In no way should that mentality ever enter into a football organization's mind. I was really close to changing teams when they hired Billy C, but I wasn't really reminded of him coaching for them all the time like I will be with Tebow. Also, I know quite a few douchebags who "were" Broncos fans that are now Jets "fans" because of Tebow. All in all, I just couldn't stand to root for a team that routinely shot themselves in the foot in management. I didn't have THAT great of a reason to be a fan of them anyway. When I was an impressionable 12 year old, I started rooting for them because they drafted Scott Frost.
  14. I just changed my team to the Seahawks after being a Jets fan for 15 years. And this is how they do me? Ughh.
  15. Looks like the Seahawks are adopting Nebraska Danger uniforms.

  16. So I'm outside painting my fence and my upwind neighbor comes outside. Bear in mind he just mowed on Sunday. He starts up his lawn mower and mows again. It wasn't long enough it needed mowing, just long enough for him to f up our fence.

just walk over and ask him if he can wait to mow until later. duh.

Sounds like your neighbor is a dick. At least it'll look crappy on his side of the fence.

Yeah, he knew I was doing it, he actually walked over and watched me for five minutes before hand. But he likes to lean on our fence while he's talking to the neighborhood senior citizen babes, and he wasn't able to since it had wet paint on it. So I'm guessing that was his way of getting back at me.

  17. So the Jets finally part ways with the Calliban and then they go pick up Tebow? Maybe I need to find a new team.

  18. Not that I even remotely like the corn helmets, but they'd be better if they at least had the current logo on it. If you're going to go retro, don't go '90s retro. Put freakin' Harry Husker on there or something if you want a retro logo. That said, I don't think they were trying to go retro. I think he just didn't know we don't officially use that logo anymore. A lot of people don't seem to know that though.
  19. Got the day off. So I decided I'd finally get around to watching the Star Wars trilogy. See what all the hubbub is about.

Just finished Empire... If everyone says these are far superior to the new trilogy, I'm probably just gonna stay away from the new ones.

  20. This may have been mentioned, but is he any relation to Al Afalava from Oregon State?
  21. It's becoming more common, but it's FAR from the norm. HD has hardly become the norm as of yet, 3d has a ways to go, if it ever gains traction. Just spitballing, I'd say 95% of the movies that are shown in theaters are still 2d.
  22. Just to get this out of the way, since I know someone's going to say it. Ganz gone=Turner Gill as QB coach (after we push Cotton behind a desk)
  23. Man, that's a damn tricky QB "sneak"
  24. Going into fantasy playoffs with both of my RBs likely out, Peterson and Forte. Not looking good.

  25. I really wish I would've kept him on my fantasy team. I had to start CJ Spiller this week because Adrian Peterson was injured, and Roy's game yesterday would've been a nice addition.
