I agree with OP in theory, but the fact remains that when our offense is as inept as it has been the last 3 weeks, it just shines an even brighter spot light on the officiating..and we're not talking about a few terrible calls, it's a lot of terrible calls...if the saying "where there's smoke, there's fire" holds true, than there is most certainly some shenanigans abound...I'm not saying that this is a BIG 12 CONSPIRACY!!, but there is officiating bias..at least there appears to be. I get what your saying in that, if we were better offensively we would take the officials out of it but the fact is, we're not better offensively...when we win these games it is, "haha, refs screwed us and we still won", but we don't win these games, you get what you have now.... We're fans, and we're fickle.

A friend of mine did some creative editing to the Big 12 wiki page after sat. nights game. Thought it might bring some laughs to an otherwise dark day.

There are story lines building here, outside of husker nation, if we win the CU game and go to the CCG, there is going to be speculation abound about what the Big 12 and Beebe will do to keep NU from winning the final big 12 championship game...that's why I think we have two games.

I'm finally coming out of my post game depression and looking for a silver lining in this whole fiasco. I was thinking that maybe it was possible that since this game is getting some national attention due to the lop sided penalty margin...albeit on message boards and the like, do you think that the referees will be forced to call the next two games fairly? All of this is dependent on the fact that Nebraska is getting "jobbed" by the big 12 of course...I just think that a lot more people are going to be watching the officiating of the next two games that we will be involved in. Thoughts?

I dont believe Swope will be able to bust coverage in the slot, and Cyrus might get his yards but as soon as we make the right adjustments could be tough for him. As for Tannehill, he hasnt seen a defensive backfield like this yet so this is his real litmus test. I think it will be a close game. I appreciate your smug and hope your team feels the same way. Tannehill may be a little green at QB (he's been on the field all year), but we'll do more than you are giving us credit for. Please, keep thinking we'll show up and lay down like a week 2 1-AA team. You might have a long ride back to Lincoln in your future. I don't know why you think he's being smug when he's giving you his honest opinion, one team all year has had success passing against us and that was okie lite, I don't believe you have a receiver or a running back that is on the same playing field with blackmon and hunter...and as has already been stated, we eat great qb's for lunch, and since you've got an average qb...i'd say your chances of successfully passing on our secondary are slim to none..call it kool-aid if you want, it's our board

any time aTm even has a glimmer of being decent they start to run their mouths, not sure why considering I think the only national title they claim was in 1939...pay no attention to the aggies behind the curtain, I'd take that bet all day long.

they pick ISU because if by some miracle, ISU actually wins, they'll look awesome. I wouldn't put too much stock into it, I'd like to see one of them actually put money on ISU straight up to back up those claims...I'll take those bets all day long.

With a zone read, the QB picks whether to hand the ball off or keep the ball, he's going to do whichever gives the best option at the time. It's not a specific play call to the backs or qb.

I think it's that they don't know if we CAN work hard to score a touchdown if we need to? It's a good problem to have when you're only worries are things of this nature
