The pictures I've seen probably don't do it justice but it looks very nice. The price per seat seems pretty outrageous. Colorado St is planning on spending $195-$220 million for 36k seats. Another ~$80 million in deferred upgrades could push it to 42k down the road. As you say, a lot of $$ for not many seats. The new round of college stadiums all seem to be in the $6-7.5k/seat range.

CSU needs every penny it can get. The new on-campus stadium was approved today. Originally, the AD planned to raise 50% of the estimated cost before asking for a vote (they have raised 20-25% so far). So purely hypothetical question for ya Husker_x. It's for a buddy I know. More like a coworker I ran into... Anyway, let's say someone was at the tattoo parlor all day getting full-back ink. In Old English letters, shoulder to shoulder was "OC Frost HC" and below that, again full-back ink, was a really sweet black ink outline of Frost's head shot. Vertically along the left side it said "Husker" and vertically on the right side "Power" (both black outline, red fill). Would that be something you would think is reasonable over this rumor?!?!? Again just asking for a buddy. Appreciate your thoughts.

I can't find the article on the specifics of the waiver ol' Urb got when he took over "the other OSU". If I recall, Urb & all but 1 of the new staff could be out recruiting while the old staff coached the players at practice. New staff could NOT interact with players at practice & there were limitations on players meeting with new HC/ new OC/ new DC. Players could not meet with new position coaches until after the bowl. It was a sweetheart deal, tho. I really hope SE applies for the same waiver...

StPaulHusker & Count - Totally Agree. I don't think you bring someone like Boyd back and stand pat on S&C. I think Boyd has been "evaluating" since his return. Seeing how SE operates, I wouldn't be surprised if Boyd was brought back as "upgrade option 1a". At the very least, Boyd & Riley will be having some great planning meetings here soon. I would LOVE to be a fly-on-the-wall in that discussion... Not sure if anyone noticed but GAWD, THIS IS GETTIN' EFFIN' EXCITIN'!!!

Had a long write-up response, but this probably more appropriate: Riley can't do anything about urb, pac-12, b10 perception, etc. What Riley CAN do is get NU over the hump, build a team that can pound the piss out of anybody with 4Q of physical football. We will lose at least 1 game in the future (bank it!). But, MSU has respect, tOSU has respect, wisky has respect. Let's earn our respect and then worry about the rest. JMO...

Still trying to get behind the Riley hire (give me time)... And I share most all of your frustrations right now... That said, every year (including the "sanction" years 2004-2007) I can't help but get pumped for the bowl. Even if it's a crappy bowl, with a bad opponent, or someone "guaranteed" to whoop on DONU, there's always A CHANCE NU surprises... I'm not much of a sunshine pumper. I'm pragmatic. And that sucks with so many unknowns. Buuuttt.... What if NU shows up to the bowl and plays 4Q of solid football. Just goes out, has fun playing 4Q of solid football. Win or loose, that's something we have not done in way too long... I also think it's a sign of a good mentality starting to make a comeback... Just the thought it MIGHT happen soon has me juiced... Idk, it is tough & I know how you feel right now. Imagine where we were a week ago and where we will be come end of the month... Let me know if you figure it out; would love to hear how you did it

The buyout I think is 151k over 51 weeks. That's a total of 7.7 mil. If he takes a job over 1.8 mil/year, the buyout is void. If he takes a job under 1.8 mil/year, we're only responsible for the difference, which at a mil/year would be about 70k. My initial numbers may be off, but this is the process that I saw on the news. If he and his family isn't resting comfortably on a Caribbean Isle then... well he's an idiot. If you subscribe to the notion that a big part of the losses have been attitude & culture issues within the team, I think we really folks to step up to being "active leaders" in every position group. As far as external facing (to the fans/media/HB), not worried as good internal team dynamic will take care of this. & +1 to the old knee above; that's just freekin' classic

This is a good sign... Riley has command of the "sales pipeline" after just one day.. You know, there's another pipeline we used to have at DONU. Wonder if maybe Riley & co might be bringing that one back to Lincoln.... Wouldn't that be sumthin?!?

Yesterday, I was REALLY hoping the transfers would be minimal..... After sleeping on it: If Riley puts together a staff than can develop talent (which most believe will happen), I'm of the mind to release everyone from their scholly's if need be. The staff needs to get the negativity/bunker mentality out of the team and those that leave can find a better fit elsewhere. It would also be good to test recuiting chops right off the bat, imo, which is harder to do with a smaller class. Some folks won't pan out even with a great talent evaluator... GAWD ALL MIGHTY THIS IS GETTIN EFFIN EXCITING 'ROUND HEYA!!!! GBR MUTHA'S !!! lol

SOME OF MY COWORKERS (CSU GRADS) SAID THEY WOULDN'T MIND HAVING PELINI. MAYBE THE LEGAL WEED WOULD CALM HIM DOWN A LITTLE I think he'd be more comfortable there. They don't care nearly as much about football and there'd probably be 1/10 of the amount of media. Two months ago, every Rams Alum I knew was giving me crap about what a D-Bag Pelini was. This week they all want him @ CSU. I don't think they understand the "9+ wins every season" probably stays in Lincoln ... And agreed, FTC is a great town where the media & microscope issues are exactly what BP needs, imo... Heck, I think the media started phoning in the post-game pressers at CU last season...

Do we start a new TSP thread for each staff position or just for each area (Offense, Defense, Special Teams)? Probably should decide before tomorrow's presser...
