  1. Who? By that logic we should legalize methamphetamine and high explosives. (And a few other more outrageous things.) Agreed. Again . . . who? As mentioned in my orginal post, some on HB as well as other sites.
  2. I'm amazed at the people who want to look at guns as being the culperit rather than the person behind the gun. It's a fact that even a loaded gun has close to zero chance of firing unless there's someone or something manipulating the trigger. Unload said gun and it is less deadly than a butter knife. I'm amazed at the number of people wanting an all out ban on guns or so called 'assult weapons/military style guns'. It's a fact that these 'styles' of guns are of 'styles' only which have an appearance to be dangerous and only appearance. In fact they are no different than, as someone else stated, a glorified .223, .308, 30.6. I wish people would educate themselves before spouting inaccuracies and understand that regulating these weapons will do absolutely ZERO in preventing deaths such as Sandy Hook or any other mass murder with a gun. You have to take a look at the person behind the gun. If they want one bad enough they'll get it. I'm amazed at the people touting the 2nd ammendment as a right to bear arms for hunting purposes. It's a fact that the 2nd ammedment was written to allow citizens the right to bear arms to protect themselves against unlawful activity which has been upheld several times by the supreme court. It is what it is, the forefathers wanted to ensure the people had the right to protect themselves. Someone else wrote that some guns were only made for killing, which is half fact. All guns are made for killing which took the place of the bow & arrow and spear to gain an advantage of the amount of distance required to conduct such activity. What a person choses to kill is up to the person behind the gun which happens to be a repeated statement all along and is being ignored my many who want to blame the gun.
  3. After the ars kickin we recieved It qould be great to see the badgers do the same to Stanford, no matter who coaches. Would make our disapointment slightly better. Slightly!
  4. Have to wonder if both teams will have the same grueling schedule as the Skers coming into the conf?
  5. Have to be honest, I didn't read the letter until now. Say it with me boys and girls, ...butthurt. (NOSanduSKY) I wish I had that time back!
  6. Delaney is taking a rather big risk, IMHO. There are pros and cons to these two selections and hopefully, at some point in time, bigger news would be in the works. There again, members of some boards weren't thrilled with the selection of Nebraska. Even more disappointed when the AAU membership sailed.
  7. Can anyone see Bo being a PIG SOOIE type of guy? Anyone?
  8. If TO wouldn't object to leading the team out, would there really be anyone within the organization doubt the decision? IMHO, TO would not make the suggestion, he would be asked by someone within. Knowing TO's disposition, he either would gratiously accept or decline. Either way, it would be cool to see him on the field one more time.
  9. I disagree a good dose of fundamentals starting at about 10 will help a lot of kids be better fb players in HS. Sure natural athletes don't need to start as early and they will pick it up easily, but a good program that keeps it simple and repedative can be very good. Should a 10 year old no the differene between cover 1, 2 and 3 and know the difference between a combo block, g block and zone blocking? No, but a good dose of indi fundies will do wonders. I used to get kids in 9th grade that I literally thought had never even watch at football game before. Exactly, we had several who only went out their SR year because they were SRs. In a small town, anyone who went out likely played a position. Most of these guys had absolutely no business being on the football field.
  10. SAFE is what counts. J/k, that there is brutal and unfortuante. My kids have had more injuries on the trampoline than anything sports related. Me, however, only a broken middle finger in an attempt to dunk a basketball in HS. Apparently I needed more work on coordiating hands & eyes.
  11. Good points ColradoHusk, and to each their own. Though playing football or any team sport is not just about playing the sport or being good at that sport. I knew I would never play in college but that didn't stop me from playing and learning. It teaches responsibility, coordination, teamwork, etc. There's far more to it than just playing. I run a business and coach other business owners. There are a lot of annalogies between sports and business which I probably woudn't be able to relate to if I hadn't played.
  12. I have three boys, one of which is old enough to have played with full pads for two years. He's in 4th grade and in a leauge with weight restrictions. I'm an assistant coach for his team and he loves it. My next oldest in in 1st grade and plays flag football but wants to play full contact and likely will. Same with my 6 yr old, doesn't want to play flag, only full contact. The two younger never want to miss the eldest's practices as they learn right along with the older boys. I've seen more injuries in Basketball at their ages than in football. Growing up, Basketball wasn't considered a "contact sport"...
  13. It would be great to see Rex start then limited carries. Having him 100% for the CCG it would be worth it.
  14. Until people realize the first bolded statement there are no tax increases big enough to reduce the deficit and/or balance a budget. We also have to understand that a 'Cut' in budget to congress means they proposed to decrease the amount of increase in spending in the future, not reduce the amount of actual spending. Until this is understood and realized, there are no tax increases big enough to make a difference. Imagine giving money to a friend/relative, enough to last a year, who doesn't work (isn't a profit center) and they come back wanting/needing more because they spent it all. Do you give them more so they can continue their spending spree? Would you or soemone else (non-profits, etc.) you know and trust be able to do better with those funds? Of course Ryan's plan isn't going to reduce the deficit, there's no way to possibly do it in that short of a timeframe. I sure like it better than any alternative congress has come up with in the last few years. Oh, that's right there hasn't been one. The spending has to stop first. Then talk to me about raising taxes.
  15. Whew, thought I was going to miss out on something. Thanks Knapp!
  16. Does that apply to the recruit contacting others? Seriously, I have no idea.
  17. SIAP: This was discussed this morning on the radio. Apparently the provision was in an orignial draft proposal though did not make the final cut.
  18. WOW! Severe over reaching and no way in he!! this will get approved. OTOH, it's good to finally see the B1G taking some stance on the Ped State issue. I'd say they're mildly pissed.
  19. Just names. Getting hung up on them seems petty. Kind of like being annoyed at some people calling their child "Apple" or crazy sh*t like that.
  20. I like the way the B1G is playing this. The SEC didn't like "on campus" playoffs because they may have to play in the cold, which they think would be unfair. The SEC's idea of fair is to have playoffs in their backyards (bowl games), which gives them an advantage. From the B1G standpoint, if there can't be compromise to truely make things fair, why change?
  21. Yes but he is a Pro style QB. Thats weird to see the staff offering both. No Jennings is a Dual threat. Hurt his knee last year, but played all season despite that. The injury forced him to be primarily a passer, but when healthy he is supposed to be a pretty good runner. Thats what it said on 24.7 sports.Said he was the 24th pro style QB in the nation. Can we get a Jennings thread? This is so confusing....
  22. Yeah not sure where we are going w/ all these little guys. Complete guess, but I could see Cross, (with our transition into a more traditional 2 back set), plowing for 3-4 yards, and a guy like Green/Abdulla that can be a check down and catch the ball as well as get outside on an option/sweep. There doesn't seem to be a ton of consistency in our recruiting approach though. Keeping us guessing would keep our competition guessing. Not a bad strategy...?
