  1. The Husker - Power chant starts right before the Tunnel Walk. Depending on the delay from the earlier televised game it can go for a few minutes. Also during long commercial breaks, the cheerleaders might start the Husker - Power chant. That's still a part of the stadium experience. Along with the wave, and now the slow motion wave and the quick wave. New this year are the team flags of all the B1G teams for the pre-game Marching Red experience. Tuckerp, you should get to Memorial Stadium for a game!

    Maher

I heard he went to kicking camps this summer and worked on his game. Maybe too many chefs? You listen to too many experts and all of a sudden things that were easy are now messed up.
  3. Every team has a few disgruntled players. I had a kid threaten to quit after a huge team victory. Not enough individual recognition. This player matured pretty quickly and became a big contributor to a state championship team. Compare Bell's attitude with Jammal Turner's attitude in the article in owh today. Turner realized he wasn't competing at the level needed and stepped it up. The big underlying issue is a non-issue, just the reality of team sports.
  4. 91 was the 19-19 tie where the CU fans were throwing snowballs at the kicker 90 the Huskers lost 27-12 89 the Huskers lost 27-21 I seem to remember we didn't catch some punts in that game and had terrible field position 88 Huskers won 7-0
  5. Okay, maybe I shouldn't have gone so far back down memory lane. The '92 game was awesome. My seats were in the East Balcony. Every time the sleet picked up, we cheered louder. We cheered for the Huskers, we cheered for the weather, we just made noise. It was great.
  6. All this talk about the Halloween Massacre reminded me of a Halloween game in 1964. The Huskers beat Mizzou 9-0. But the night before, my friend Jay and I had a genius idea. We went trick or treating on Friday night. We wore some Husker gear and glumly walked up to houses and rang the doorbell. The people who answered the door were pretty confused. Halloween was Saturday not Friday we were told over and over again. We explained that our parents were going to the Husker game (true), and wouldn't let us go trick or treating on Saturday (not true). We got lots of sympathy and a pillow case of candy! The next night we went out again (my grandparents escorting us) in full costume, so we wouldn't be recognized, and filled another sack with candy. Best Halloween EVER!
  7. The season isn't over. As good as Bill Snyder seems to be, his teams always drop one somewhere, and miss out on a shot at the ring.

    Ref's

Somewhat inept officiating crew. Prime example: Maher had a punt in the 4th quarter that went into the endzone. The refs initially spotted the ball at the 25, as if a kickoff had gone into the endzone. They finally corrected the spot, but only after I yelled at them. Well maybe it was in response to Bo, but I was yelling too.
  9. Colorado beat the Huskers back in '89 or '90 and Bill McCartney was asked what the key to the victory was, and he said "we caught the punts and they didn't" The Huskers let some punts drop. It was cold, and snowy, but letting the ball drop and roll gave the Huskers terrible field position. I thought of that quote as I watched the muffed punts.
  10. D Line just stood there and pushed against their O Line. No swim moves, no stunts, just contain the mobile quarterback while he picks the secondary apart. We saw the same thing in Bo's earlier years against Tyrod Taylor and Va Tech. What happened to the first quarter D?
  11. No red flags in NCAA, only NFL. Also we had already used the one challenge on the Ball touchdown in the first half, so Bo was out. Supposedly, each play in a college football game is reviewed, but I'm not sure why they didn't review that one during a brief timeout. I thought in the stadium that it was incomplete. Watching a replay on TV last night, I thought it was probably a catch. QE caught it and reached out to try to get to the end zone, and the ball popped out when it hit the ground, although he was clearly down before. "Once per game, each head coach may also call a timeout and challenge the ruling on the previous play before the next play starts. A coach must have at least one timeout remaining in order to challenge (teams receive three timeouts per half). If the challenge is successful and the on-field ruling is overturned, the team keeps its timeout and is allowed only one more challenge. If unsuccessful, the team loses its timeout and is allowed no more challenges."
  12. Why do both the #huskers face the West Stadium? The fans in the East Stadium don't ever get the lovin'... during halftime, the band always plays to the West Stadium. Now I have to to read #huskers upside down? 7734 with that!
  13. I got bored listening to Nick and Schick with all the sound bite "drops", and giggles. I turned it over to mike and mike most of the time. Jason was fine in the morning, and got me back to listening to the zone, and Damon should be good as well.

    Uni's

For a minute, I thought I had wandered into a Lincoln High versus Westside high school game.
  15. "We'll all stick together, in all kinds of weather, for good ol' Nebraska U!" I visited Tampa during the bowl week last January, and I gotta say it was pretty nice, save for the cold day after the game.
