Yeah my brother lives in South Bend and although I've never been on campus, I can't say I was too impressed with the area. I wouldn't compare Lincoln and Urbana-Champaign though. I've been to both many times (i live about 45 minutes from Champaign) and I would say U-C is more like a smaller, crappier Omaha. I mean its fun to hang out on campus and there are some nice areas I'm sure, but there are also some really dirty neighborhoods there. Lincoln just seems a lot nicer to me overall. UIUC is almost twice the size of UNL enrollment-wise and the UIUC campus area is really spread out so I'm not sure if they really compare in that regard either. I haven't been to many big 10 cities but I would have Madison near the top of the list. It seems like a really nice area despite the terrible WI weather.

His team won the state championship in 5A last year. As you said IL has 8 classes. He plays in a private school conference so there is probably some good talent but its probably not as "ethnically diverse" as some of the other chicagoland conferences. I'd say 3 star is about right.

Sounds like the AAU needs to make changes not UNL if all that is true. The purpose of their organization should be to recognize the best academic institutions, not to make schools jump through hoops to meet their definition of excellence. Why is Ag research undervalued? This whole thing seems dumb to me.

i would be more disappointed if you went to the wedding. It is only a cousin and its only a wedding. just put an extra $5 in the card and you will be straight.

First off, I hope TM stays because hes obviously very talented and probably a lot misunderstood. But if hes gonna leave it seems like its gonna have to happen within the next month or so. I mean why stay around UNL for spring ball if you know you are going to be leaving. And even though hes going to have to sit out a year he'll still want to go thru spring ball wherever he goes for lots of obvious reasons. I'm not sure what the enrollment cutoff would be but I'm guessing he'd have to be settled pretty close to the beginning of the semester. It seems to me that if hes still with the team come March or April that hes here for the long haul. I just dont see him transferring after that point because he'd risk getting lost in the shuffle and he still needs so much work as a passer. Maybe if he changed positions but I dont think thats gonna happen.

Yes we got bent over on the Helu fumble and yes we will continue to get bent over the rest of the way. The best way to deal with it is to come out and get a big lead like in the misery game and take the other team and zebras out of it.
