  1. Basketball is an overall joke anymore at all levels. Officiating is so damn inconsistent from minute to minute and it seems in the college level there's too many guys looking to make themselves look good for the NBGay. I wish they would go back to letting high school kids go straight to the pros so we can get rid of showboater contract hunters in college and see some halfway good basketball again. Not to mention officials always trying to have a hand in the outcome all the damn time. What this has to do with Nebraska- aTm i dont know, and for that I apologize. Doc has some good talent, his recruiting classes are progressively getting better with every year. Last year it was no height, this year it's no experience. But his work ethic and hard ass attitude is comparable to Pelini in my eyes, and one thing who have to give him, his teams have competed, and played hard every minute.
  2. K-State? What would they do with the great great great grandfather then?
  3. sh#t, they already do, ever take a good look at Suh's and Crick's jersey after a game, just stretched and torn to shreds under the arms, far worse than any I've ever seen.
  4. Odighizuwa really is not that difficult. It's pronounced as it looks. Ndamukong shouldnt be either, just the last g is silent. I dont understand why people cant pronounce these so called tricky names.
  5. Bo has already said in direct quotes that this is his dream job, and he wants to finish his career here. His family has already deeply engrained themselves in Lincoln and Nebraska. He has a deep love and passion for the sport, so that in itself is enough to say he couldnt find a better fit anywhere where he could share the passion with the fanbase. He's not going anywhere anytime soon, if ever. This may be one subject we need to put to rest along with the Carl rumors. JMO.
  6. So basically it was a ploy by some/many programs to allow their ball carriers to not be tackled by simply grabbing a jersey?. be damned.
  7. I think it's simply because of defense and running the ball. The SEC plays with high physicality, and let's face it, the Big 12 has become a finnesse conference. We saw last night Bama just pound away when they wanted to. Oklahoma's offense last year was "supposedly" the best in how many years if not ever, scoring over 60 in what, 5 straight games, but was completely stimied by Florida. I just see the Big 12 has become so obsessed with star QB's and offense over the last 5-8 years, that they forgot that defense is just as important. Over the last two years, you have seen Pelini bring the real fooball of the SEC back to Nebraska. Physical, defense, emphasize the running game, WIN.
  8. Watching this on classic right now, and was just wondering if someone could refresh to me the reasoning of the tearaway shirts worn by the players in this game (or at this time in history for that matter?) I think I remember my dad tellin me when i was really young, but cant recall. Thanks.
  9. I believe Crick "could" wind up better than Suh. Here's my reasoning. COACHING. Crick is already as good if not better now than Suh was as a sophmore, and Crick has already had 2 years under proven coaches, whereas Suh had his first 2 seasons under some idiots, and he still turned out to be great. This is said with full understanding that Suh probably has more natural talent, but i still believe in this possibility.
  10. That's because that's all that matters. IT'S NOT ABOUT YARDS, IT'S ABOUT POINTS, and who's number 1 in that category. Besides, rpg and ppg averages are such a joke. To say Texas has the #1 rush defense in the country is such a farfetched stat because the play a pass happy schedule, teams that throw it nearly 50 times a game, a shedule in which they got an early lead and all their opponent had to do was throw.
  11. And that's the way it's looked at around here. Now that the season's over, it's been discovered that maybe our offense was as bad as it was because of a LOT of injuries, but never once was that use as an excuse by coaches and players, they just kept pluggin away. As far as the qb Texas recruited a few years back that was supposed to be the next Vince Young, it was the Chiles kid, but after McCoy decided to return for his senior year, they moved him to WR in order to get his athletic ability on the field as a utility player.
  12. I enjoy the fact the only time Bama gets to the quarterback is when a blitzer gets in untouched. Hmmm, seems Nebraska did it time and time again working thru double team holding, chop blocks with just down 4.
  13. Right now the only clutch we're seeing is from a true freshman qb. I will give Texas "some" credit for not just packing it in, but Bama is a perfect example of why you can not turn off the switch at halftime. FUMBLE-game possibly over, Bama looks to escape closer than it shoulda been. This game has only proven without a doubt who the best defense was this year hint: they're not playin tonight.
  14. So i was wrong, but maybe not. This is a perfect lesson as to why you can not turn off the switch at halftime cuz you just cant turn it back on. Not to mention, I'm not sure Alabama was fully ready to play at the beginning of the game anyway.
  15. Texas is falling apart because they are getting beatin apart. Nebraska seriously exposed them by playing physical and now Bama is just full out exploiting it. As far as "wheels coming off" i didnt intend on implying that texas wouldnt be ready to play and so on, but rather after watching each team throught out the year, it's been obvious to me that Bama is by far a superior team, to me this is comparable to Nebraska-Florida 95 as far as one team being superior to another.
  16. INEVITABLE, AS INEVITABLE. Now 24-6, DUN. Texas cannot compete with this superior team, McCoy or not McCoy. That's just the way it is. I wish I was wrong but I'm not.
  17. And now it looks as if the inevitable is happening. Pretty boy Texas is getting out-physicalled. McCoy would not make a bit of difference. Face it, Bama and the SEC are just superior. Maybe if the Big 12 hadnt turned into such soft sling the ball around pretty boy conference, they could compete with these types of teams.
  18. But... THE games were already played in 1999 and 2000, I believe we won quite easily.
  19. Although Carl has the title of defensive coordinator, I would find it hard to believe that BO isn't the brains behind the D. Neither, we all know Watson is THE D coordinator, he's the best at stopping an offense.
  20. Whoa whoa whoa. Put the rumors to bed??!!. Pay raise dont mean sh#t. Callahan got one less that a year before he was fires. Second thing, what rumors are we talking about ??
  21. Becuase it is a waste of time. There are way too many "high caliber" recruits that flop like a terd in the toilet (Harrison Beck, Kevin Dixon, there's so many to even name) and so many 2 or 3 stars that end up being stars. Yes recruiting is essential obviously, but the ranking of players and classes is a bunch of crap. JMO, not actually tryin to be an ass this time. I'm just not the one that spends all off season saying "he's gonna be a hell of a player" but rather waits till the season starts to say " he has turned out to be a hell of a player" *DISCLAIMER* This statement does not intend to imply that all high caliber recruits flop and all 2-3 star recruits end up being stars, cuz I know some idiots will try to turn this statement to that.
  22. But Coach Bo says the defense should be better next year, so it will. As far as National Title hopes, this is where the program belongs, and where it has returned to. HIGH EXPECTATIONS. Losing and not finishing at the very top should NOT be acceptable.
  23. If anyone "dominated" Suh (whatever the f#*k that means ) I would have to say the lineman from Kansas played him. Suh still made some plays against Texas Tech, but was rather nuetralized against Kansas. At least Leach is gone now, that's another Big 12 faker that can go right back to where they belong. Things are gettin more and more back to normal every day.
  24. Exactly, sometimes it just comes down to more that MONEY. I know that's hard for alot of the possession worshipping-greedy-i have this and this and this-morons of this world, but that's what a REAL life is. To alot, happiness in what youre doing and where your doing it can make up for a lot of shortcoming. In Bo's case, if his family is happy where they are, he is happy where he is, and has the support of all us, i think he can afford to turn down an addition mil or two that would be possible elsewhere. As far as possible only leaving to go back to Ohio St., the longer he stays here and further engrains himself in this area, that is probable going to become less and less likely.
  25. 1) Oklahoma 2001-just another OU thriller 2) Michigan 2005- things sure looked up after this 3) Notre Dame 2000- Taking over an opposing stadium, LITERALLY 4) Texas A&M 2006- Remember the Blocked field goal, looked pretty hopeless before that, rest is history 5) Oklahoma St. 2003- the REAL beginning of BO-FENSE.
