New Offensive Coordinator options?
whateveritis1224 replied to 1HuskerFaithful's topic in Husker Football
He's not bad, its just fans having a higher opinion of where the program is at right now and who we can realistically get. I'd say that the offense's issue this past year was the oline over anything schematically. There was good success against all the top teams that we played and they were the only team to really light up Wisconsin this year (something Frost has done every year he's faced them). I think Harrell can help improve the overall efficiency of the offense so it's not as much boom or bust. If I were to rate the prospective hires, though, Harrell'd be in the top 5, but not my first choice. -

Betts, AJ Forbes off the top of my head. Bradley the RB who had one good game against Purdue in 2017.j -
Offseason drama for Frost and departing players

By far the best olineman on the team. I'm struggling to think of a time where any Center had to go from being a center to being a tackle like Cam did multiple times during the back end of the year. He'd snap and then pull out to help the tackle/edge within 1 second on pretty much every pass play. I'd love for him to come back, but if he leaves, he leaves and it will be well earned and he will be hard to replace next year. -
Verge did play better (two assists off of a Triple Double), but I also think NCST was a good team for him to play against with their picking him up at full court. He reverted hard at the end of the game and then in the OT to the point where you could see Fred calling a play to pass to the Big at the top of the key and then over to Bryce as soon as Verge crossed the midline.

Top 3 teams in the B1G this year is a big round robin. Wisconsin's better than Nebraska, who's better than Purdue, who's better than Wisconsin.

Thing that annoys me the most about this team, when a guy gets hot, they seem to just endlessly leave him open to get good looks. Edit: They've been better at answering bad defensive possessions with good offensive possessions in this game outside of the middle 8 or so minutes in the first half. They've been moving the ball and guys are hitting their shots today (Keisei showing out has helped).

Off the top of my head, there are at least 1.5 ints that are not fully Martinez's fault (the last against Purdue where the defender made a good play and hit Allen in the right spot that had the ball launch up right into another defenders hands, and the 1st one against Wisconsin. It wasn't a good throw, but Martin made zero attempt on the ball). Flipside, he also has at least 3 that should be counted as two (the pick 6 against Purdue, the Shovel Pass against Purdue, and the Arm Punt against Wisconsin).

I'm not sold on Yant being as good as message boards have made him out to be. He's a big back who came to fall camp overweight. His big game was against a horrid Northwestern team that hasn't stopped any team with a pulse all year. I do think the RB room has been mismanaged for multiple years running, but message boards are only pointing out Yant because they like themselves a big back. Let's just forget the fact that he tripped over himself on a sure TD in Minnesota. Had had multiple plays where he didn't know where to go that messed things up in critical moments. Bottom line, there was nothing that Yant did in his time playing that Marvin Scott III didn't do tonight or Johnson hasn't done as a starter.

JoJo has also been invited to the Senior Bowl. -
Have no clue what happened between the exhibition games and the games that counted, but both the exhibition games they shot near 50% from 3 as a team. I think a lot of it is because the ball has been sticking to Verge's hand in a way it didn't in those two games. The ball movement hasn't been there as a result except in the McGowens, McGowens, Wilcher, Breidenbach, Andre lineup. I think this might be a get right game, though. The basketball team has had the same propensity as the football team of playing down to their opponents (did so against Peru State too, but Peru State is such a level below that it didn't matter in the end like with Western Illinois and almost Sam Houston). The one "good" opponent they faced they buried them within the first 15 minutes. One thing in NU's favor is that IIRC the primary ball handlers for Creighton are young (1st year freshmen) and Colorado's was littered with younger players too. I like their chances to get some confidence at the start of the game and then just maintaining the rest of the way for a 5-10 point win.

For as bad as our season has gone, at least we're not Indiana, lost to Rutgers 38-3.

Disney+ day is today and they readied this peak at the show. Unpopular opinion, one I've had since this show was announced, but I think this show is a bad idea. For all the complaining about the Prequels and Sequels messing up Star Wars canon, this seems like something fangirls wanted due to Ewan (supply and demand, baby!). The only thing that interests me is the metaphysical interactions with Vader/Hayden. Also the fact that they got Hayden back to play Vader. I would be more interested in a Han Solo series with Alden that builds off of the "Solo" movie with Emilia as an antagonist.
