  1. While they don't have a job, the team is still playing. Trev is probably allowing Mickey to play out the season without the distraction that the new coach is looking over his shoulder. Announcing after the season makes it so the new coach can just walk into his office and start working.
  2. But also it’s not something taxpayers are paying for right? The football coaches salary is pulled from the revenue the school receives and private donors correct? I know Covid hit the revenue stream hard, but the athletic department still runs in the black right? Just seems like we’re stuck in the penny pinchers mindset when it’s not needed, especially when the new TV rights roll in and the revenue takes another jump. edit: just thinking about that report a couple pages ago where we tried to frontload a lower cost for the duration of the Carolina contract and how it ended up going back to the drawing board.
  3. Carolina's probably going to argue that he's worth $10M a year so that they don't have to pay him anymore.
  4. He also said that reporting was Mularky. But another report said its similar to Lincoln Riley last year refuting the LSU job, but going to USC. Kiffin to Nebraska confirmed.
  5. Came back for the championship game: 10 catches, 104 yards 2 ints, 1 PBU and would have had a third INT if he didn't slip on a ball thrown right a him
  6. Extremely frustrating game from the point where APB went from 12 down to 8 up, but this team has shown more resiliency than Hoiberg's previous teams. When APB couldn't seem like they could miss, it was Cal State Northridge again, a loss in another buy game. This team has proven that hey can play some solid D for a time, but they haven't shown that they can play a complete game yet.
  7. I reached that point in the second half against Minnesota. After blowing that game, I'm just looking forward to whomever is the head coach and next year. Any positive thing that happens this year is just gravy. Like figuring out Hauseman is going to be great if he continues developing like he's been.
  8. Just get a second score and that might be enough.
  9. He was just throwing names at the wall and Whittingham came up as an option with the reason that he might just want to try something else, been in a spot so long he wants a change of scenery and the fact that the Pac 12 is going to be very different soon. He doesn't think it's likely, really the 3 on the podcast thought it's going to be Liepold or Campbell (Campbell because he was prob Alberts first pick if he could have fired Frost last year).
  10. Looked like Thompson threw a fade stop and Palmer ran an out.
  11. Think as long as Mickey is part of the program next year (HC or WR coach), he's coming.
  12. Why should the HC be a "great" offensive or defensive mind? They need to be a leader of the program which includes both the offense and defense. If we keep Mickey as HC, it's not the end of the world because he's shown he can squeeze juice from a lemon that appeared to be done for the year.
  13. Nice first set. Felt like the last few matches or a Crawford fight, close for a little bit and then they pulled away at the end.
  14. How is it even with the best team in the conference, that it feels like the announcers always lean towards the other team unless it’s an NET production. both challenges early in the match were clearly in NUs favor, but the announcers hemmed and hawed like it was close (2nd challenge clearly didn’t hit Kubiks hand and was a double hit by Purdue, don’t know what the refs were looking at).
  15. Defense was there the entire night, but it felt like PSU was making mistakes over the girls dominating until the 3rd set. 3rd set was just amazing.
  16. Thats what ive heard too. Coaching change, no matter the reason, free transfer for the first 30 days after the coach leaves.
  17. I'm going to be frustrated during the game, but I'm going to enjoy the small things when they happen, the good plays even if we're down multiple scores. I'm at the point in my life where I don't care too get negative about things.
  18. It's the stink of Frost and Chins. All the bad juju from last year was concentrated on Frost and Chins. Teams that beat them this year had that transferred onto them and now can't play the error free football they did against us.
  19. It happens in every game, that's how the refs hold up play when the offense subs to give the defense the chance to make their own substitutions. Thought this was well known by now as its been happening every game for a while now.
  20. The RB on Rutgers did a textbook target, but since it was on a guy much larger than him nothing. Launched and hit Mathis right in the chin with the crown of his helmet. Had a bad feeling that Grant would be called for targeting after his hit and the guy got knocked out.
  21. How is it if a WR is running a route and gets nailed like this its a Targeting penalty, but an RB launches and puts his helmet right in the chin of a dlineman its a good block?
  22. Issue with this is OSU went 10-2 the previous year and went to the Sugar Bowl and had won the Big 10 going back to 2005. If we were sitting in their position, of course going .500 wouldn't be enough to keep the interim. But we're now 5 years straight of winning no more than 5. We're on the complete opposite ends of the sliding scale.
  23. Guys laying on Thompson and Corcoran pulls him off. They changed things recently (or not that recently) that pulling people off a pile is a 15 yard penalty. Edit: I'm wrong, Cocoron pushed him back in another one of those plays/actions that's not called at all that the refs were calling all night. Also embellished by the defender to draw the penalty.
  24. That stats missing a line. First block returned for a td since 09. We had a couple blocked punts against Northern Illinois in 19
