  1. I for one enjoy ND Joe's imput on this Husker board. Don't really see it as a BIG 10 board. It is time to let ND walk way. If the BIG could not get it done when ND was down, what makes them think they can get it done now that they are on the rise? If Michigan kept them out in the past and the rumors are correct that they said no to FSU too, then someone needs to relieve them of some power at the table. To listen to the coaches and AD's of the "East" division, we are back in the division of "poor red headed stepchildren". OH, we still get Wiskey, really, we can't play with the big boys division. Joe is right, there are 2 schools in this conference and they will always get the breaks. Let ND go and if expansion is on the horizon again, go after a school that wants to be in the BIG.
  2. Eating it for years on Pork Tenderloin. My wife adds chopped strawberries in the mix.
  3. If you want to see if you're computer can handle it you can download the game for free and play 3 missions as well as some extra skirmishes, and infinite games against one AI opponent who's difficulty adjust to your skill. Where? On the Blizzard site? I know my system can handle it, I just want to see the game play. http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/ The play for free spot on the right. They offer a trial version. Thanks strig. Sorry I forgot about this thread scarlet. No problem and thanks Strigori for the link. Downloaded it and played great, just like Red Alert, very nice.
  4. Try this. Mix butter with adobo sauce (your preference on how much). Spread on corn on the cob. Grill until slightly blackened and a few few kernels pop. The grill really brings out the sweetness of the corn and the butter adds a nice kick.
  5. Other than poaching a few Mid Majors and as much as I hate to say this, I believe Texass is the key to all of this. If indeed it comes down to "Super" conferences the logical winners would appear to be The PAC, SEC and the BIG. The ACC, as much as I would have loved to have had some schools join, pretty much told the BIG that they are not a cultural fit. They are still and will be for some time a "Southern" area. So give up the ACC to the SEC. Now what. Although Texass is in the south, they have more in common with Midwestern (western) values than say Mississippi. I am not saying the BIG needs to dumb down their academics, and I am not putting Texass in that category, but with them you get the bonus of some other Big llX schools that don't fit the profile. That being said, the BIG has to go southwest. May 2 will tell more as the SEC and ESPN announce the new network. Now you will have 3 major networks, BTN, PAC and SEC and the Big llX will be on the outside wanting in.

  8. Just dropped the wife off to take a bus load of kids the the Spring Game

  9. Sounds like a bunch of Ping elitists, go to a country club and try to buy a set of demo clubs, like Taylor Made. Picked up a set of Taylor Made MC Tour Preferred for $100 and they look brand new (less than a year old) because they never hit the course. My son loves them and this set usually goes for about $299 to $599 used for the full set.
  10. True Christians wouldn't care about the government making same sex marriage legal. The government is not their church. Of course, in my opinion, true Christians don't take part in politics. So you think there are like....what, ~773 or so true Christians in America? That's just an arbitrary number but I mean, that's a damn narrow definition. True Christians are people who put saving faith in Jesus Christ. As misguided as it may be, that's possible to do while still caring about governmental influence on same-sex marriage. Glad you clarified that for us. My wife is a christian who believes in equality. Her faith is Methodist. Faith has nothing to do with being misguided into believing in something or someones ideas. I believe Sal (Paul) was gay. Who gets a boat and sails around the Mediterranean with a young boy preaching hate on women. Really? I think the issue is bigger than religion. You all can preach about equality and rights but I would bet most people do not want 2 guys kissing in the neighbors driveway. Yet alone your 8 year old watching it, 2 girls, another story. I loved my neighbors. They were the best. We put in a driveway, torn down a garage port, had them for dinner and even let Jason pick my son up from middle school when he had an exotic car to show off (61 Ferrari 250). I miss them. But, I have to admit the first time I saw them kiss in their driveway, kind of creep-ed me out. I still am not comfortable seeing it on TV. Do I care, no. If that's what you want, knock yourself out. I believe this is the real issue. You can not get on national TV and and say "What they aren't telling you (in California) is how close the vote was", guess what, the people voted. Anybody in a committed relationship for long term, deserves the right to make choices and share in the benefits of their significant other. Some states still have common laws on their books. I have friends that will tell you "I'm pro gay rights" and look the other way as if its fashionable to say that. I'll wrap this up and leave it at this, Black, White, Jewish, Muslim, Gay all peoples deserve the opportunity to live the life that they choose, as long as they are not harming anyone and deserve to share benefits of that union.
  11. Not wanting to start an argument but, what did they say that wasn't true, except maybe a kid from the panhandle would rather play in SEC country than Lincoln. Call it what you want, passionate, dedicated, loyal, they explained what their definition was and went with it. Alabama, NCState, aTm all mentioned. My definition of delusional is...Iowa fans, at least they said we were relevant at one time. Iowa has never been relevant but you can't say that to their fans.
  12. All this seem highly unlikely. To ask for 50% of the television revenue to be placed in a trust until the athlete graduates? Over $1 Billion dollars. There are approximately 420,000 student athletes. Who gets paid and who doesn't? What about improvements to facilities and staff, do you raise tuition? There are too many factors than simply here you go, here's your money. What is really at the heart of this. Does Ed O'Bannon think he will change college sports and everyone will be happy with him? Is he trying to bring down the NCAA? What is really motivating him to press this issue. Let's just add that this, is an antitrust argument. At the core is the NCAA's right to a likeness after an athlete has graduated.
  13. Before you all fall off the boat please read the deposition and not a Sports Illustrated article. He stated that the majority of the money would go to "football and basketball" and other sports would suffer. He referenced Title IX and all the headway women's sports have made. He also stated that they would have to look at a Division III scenario where as they do not have athletic scholarships but offer schollies for academics. He did not say the BIG would turn to Division III, he just feels, like myself, that the education is more important than the sport and that you would have a watered down product if the ruling is in favor of O'Bannon. This would not only effect the BIG, but what do you think the SEC would do? "You scored a 17 on your ACT?" "Perfect, you get an academic scholarship."
  14. I don't know what games you were watching but the game last year was after 4. The only reason the Class A game started "late" was because of the overtime in the previous game. Also, most of the championship games started after 4 in the past. For as long as I can remember, the lineup has been-starting at 9 am- C2, D1, A, BREAK, D2,C1, B. When did they change it? This years schedule was C2, D2 and A at 1pm instead of the 4:30 slot. NSAA changed it because they thought South and Central would play in the championship game and didn't want "gang related activity" as told to OPS staff.
  15. That hit wasn't even remotely clean. Completely dirty move by that kid that he got a flagrant for. I thought he should of been kicked out for it. Agree. My group all thought there was enough there to toss him if the refs decided they wanted to. That was bad. If you watch the replay, and I am in no way defending what he did, but you can see he reaches around with both hands, he did not "tackle" him. Now I agree with the foul just don't think it was malicious.

  17. Central, Burke and South are closed out. They still have open enrollment but you have to live in the schools home area to get in.
  18. Any video on it? it was a solid grab and takedown of Hollins on a break away. Prey sure Akoy was about to throw down if he wasnt restrained It was Akoy and Thurman. Not sure what the PLV player was thinking. Assuming he didn't want to give up a dunk. Not the way to go about it though. As a Central family alum and father of 2 Central athletes and a wife that graduated from Central, it could have got ugly. Akoy did what all Nebraskan's thought about Central, a bunch of thugs and came close to lowering himself to the PLV level (one son played baseball and Papio fans are the worst). They, NSAA moved the game up because they were worryied about "Gang activity" related to Omaha schools. The hit was clean, he had too foul and Akoy AND the team showed great restraint. Congrats to The Omaha Central Eagles on another championship and to Papio LaVista for not giving up.
  19. I would love to see NC and FSU join the BIG. FSU has just recently hinted that they would like to join the SEC, and I mean just openly talked about it, not just the closed door discussions. MR. Spetman (FSU AD) talked about what they could bring to the SEC as far as revenue and he seemed quite uncertain. The focus was TV and how they overlap with other already established markets. Thus that revenue source would be a wash. The idea is to add viewers so adding another team doesn't diminish the amount of payout to other schools. With the SEC Network looking like it will be the jugernaut that BTN is you have to bring more value. Delany has to see this. Remember ESPN has 1.5bn invested in the SEC. I posted my picks a while ago. NC, FSU, KS, GT and UVA. This would cover sports all year for the BIG and assure a playoff team in just about every sport.
  20. used this some time ago and worked well http://partedmagic.com/doku.php?id=downloads#.UTkejDeRer8
  21. Hey I'm on your side. I was merely pointing out that there are alot more logistics involved than just slapping a machine down and saying knock yourself out, take a payment. Again, I am not defending them in anyway I think your right.
  22. not defending the management at the Bob in anyway but, as a business owner you know its not as simple as a $30.00 charge every month. Each credit transaction carries a fee, a percentage that has to be reconciled at then end of the month in your P|L. Added accounting costs. If you notice most places default to debit, that's because there are no fees for debit transactions. Now, with the new law that our administration has passed or is about too, the credit fees will be passed on to the consumer. So the bill will be your cost + tax + credit fee percentage up to 5% I believe (average is 2-3% per transaction). Now with that comes even more accounting and more cost. That being said, its not that simple when you have to add a dedicated line either land or ethernet.
  23. You might want to do a little research If I remember correctly they were pretty good in the 80's with Pat Dye as thier coach. But a traditional powerhouse? No, I don't think they finished in the top ten consistantly for any period of time. I think they hold the record for most years on probation though.
