  1. In no way am I defending Borges but, we all know too well how hard it is to change a style of offense or in our case defense. Going from a defense that was predicated on stopping the spread to a conference that plays smashmouth has had its growing pains. Too bad they didn't give Rich Rod a chance, who knows where they would have been.
  2. Did I miss the part in the article that said, "This is an unsolicited email from Taylor Martinez's father."? Really? Both my son were athletes. If one got injured and I was asked "what's wrong with_______" I would tell that person. I didn't wait for the coach to say,"It's OK, tell them". Thinking that no news service would want to know why TM is not playing is absurd. And too think that this article, because of what his father said, is in anyway usurping Bo's authority is down right ludicrous.
  3. Cross is a north south runner. Short yardage guy. If it looks like he is running into his blockers it is because he is. He is considerably larger than Ameer. The O-line needs to make that push to create larger holes. If you thought he had blazing speed and shiftiness you obviously were not around for his recruitment. And for Beck to run him laterally was the dumbest idea ever. I can't say that he needs to run harder because he rarely gets beyond 3-4 yards. If you all want to complain about his ability or strength look at the O-line first.
  4. You can always get a policy with a HSA to help with your higher deductible. I'm not saying ObamaCare is the right idea, obviously, there are many issues. But, if this is the future and higher deductibles are what you face, some as high as $4000 for individual plans, then you need to be proactive. Unlike the last 3 years of the current administration. (can't explain the troubles with their website, really??! You had 3 years to get this up and going, typical government contractors)
  5. It is a vocal minority. You know that. Asshats are everywhere and you can't stop them. Out of curiosity, what should the "good fans" do to push back? I'm curious to what good fans could do to someone posting anonymously on Twitter. Simply speak up. I have been in multiple conversations over the last year or two where I have stopped people from constantly trashing a specific player when it was out of line. Some of those are with people I work with and they know I don't like that attitude around the office towards college players. I've had a twitter account for sometime now. I do not follow players. I use it for up to date sports info, How about this to help stop the fans from trash talking to players, tell them (the players) to quit adding people to their follow list. Make your account private. If your ego is predicated on how many followers you have, you have a problem.
  6. This is the part that you should revisit.
  7. I wouldn't say there is a disconnect on the offensive side of the ball, besides coaches being more favorable towards players, like Martinez, and obviously not doing what you need to do to get the win. I don't care who you are, you can not honestly say that kid is 100%, or close to that. He will never be what he was, and having 6 weeks off, proves that. This loss goes strictly on coaching, by not playing the right players. Santos being consistently out of position and not reading the reads correctly was more than obvious. It was actually so obvious, the Minnesota fans I was sitting by was telling me that they hope that Bo keeps #41 in. We were bringing no pressure and COMPLETELY lost control at the line. Why we also didn't see more of Valentine, "our anchor in the middle" while having Gregory in there, I don't know. Coaching, coaching, coaching. My comments are about the way the coaches responded to the game. Especially Bo. I am not here to bash TM. It falls on the coaching staff. How do you tell your fannation that the team did not "execute" and not say a thing about how your coaches did not "execute" in teaching your team how to play or be in position or just wrap and tackle. Six years folks. I'm getting older.
  8. Agree with JJHusker1, that sounded like a defeated man. My question is, when is Bo going to hold his coaching staff accountable for "execution". Seems to me that if your players are not executing properly, and consistently, there is a disconnect between the coaches and the players. Who is in charge.
  9. Wait a minute, so there is a group of NFL employees that sit around and diagnose every play on film of every player and then decide if a fine should be levied? Or, is this just the Suh screening room. I can only guess how that conversation went, "I want you and you and oh yea you and that girl over there to follow me. You all have a new job in the Screw Suh Room".
  10. I still have the original OWH paper from that Orange bowl game. I vowed to read it someday, but sadly never have.
  11. Hey, I have a front door mat complete with plaque made from the old turf at Memorial and a desk coaster.
  12. So when I moved I upgraded my internet service to Cox Premier because of all the appliances, xbox360, ps3, pc's, cellphones etc. The other day I get this message about upgrading my modem because I am not taking advantage of the total service. So I purchased a DOCSIS 3 modem 8x4 and got it all setup, the tech assured me I would see improved performance. Well a week goes by and several lags later on my hockey game, I decide to do a speed test. 28Mbps, not even close in my book to 50Mbps. Now I know the 50 is "up too", I get this, but the tech told me, when I called that 28 is better than halfway and that is acceptable. Really? How about here's a dollar more than half of your paycheck, deal with it. Anyway I went on the cox internet forum, found a lot of complaints about this service, posted mine and Chris the board moderator entered a service code and now I'm at 66Mbps on the latest test. My point is don't call Cox, post online in their forum. Chris said that the Premier service is the only tier that needs a service code. Don't call and ask about it because they will tell you that your crazy. And if you upgraded, make sure the service code was entered right.
  13. His academics are suffering because of the situation he is in. He has all the skills and North has him at the Athletes Table everyday (after school tutoring). Its just a tough situation for him. EDIT: I should have tried not to be so cryptic. His academics are suffering because of the "family" situation he is in not because he doesn't want to attend class. Read again what Damion had to say, "walk the halls with this kid". CMT1525 I have no idea where you are getting your inside info from.
  14. I say play them both. I think Pelini and Beck missed the boat not starting RK3 as good PR for the walk-on program. Not to mention all the years he spent behind Taylor, he earned it.
  15. Bo, "Get it straight or I'm calling Carl!" Paps, "Did someone take my crayons, hey have you seen my CRAYONS?"
  16. These SEC scores look like Big 12 scores, no D

  17. We adopted a lab when she was 5. 3 years later a family member had a litter of pups (border collie blue healer mix) and we took one. When the adopted dog died 7 years later our border collie went through some type of depression so we got another lab, a pup this time. All is well. The border collie is 11 and my Sammie is 7. So yes, I believe they do suffer the loss and sorry for yours. I hope all is well.
  18. The 100 Anviversary Rose Bowl official song

  19. Not to derail the tackling portion of this thread but, didn't Papuchis say the interior linemen look to the coaches as to which gap to take so it's not really a 2 gap. (his words, not mine) maybe this is part of the confusion upfront.
  20. Not sure if there is a question in there but, I have read that Aaron Green got him up here and the fans and coach Beck did the rest. He was overwhelmed by the fact that the fans new who he was and what he had done in Texas.
