  1. He recruited Lightbourn....which gotta hand it to Read he found the one guy in the nation who could punt for negative yardage.
  2. Looking at your list, I think Gus and Stoops are safe for another year. I'll add Mora to your list. UCLA is a trainwreck right now. He's had one foot out the door for years, I think the AD gives the nudge and goes in a new direction. You could potentially have these historically significant schools looking for coaches, plus all the other middle of the road P5 schools (Missouri, Tennessee, Kansas, Kansas State (Snyder is going to retire again soon) Georgia Tech and Virginia could all have openings as well) USC UCLA Notre Dame Texas LSU If those 5 are looking, Herman would be stupid to stay at Houston. And you might see someone like Frost only last at UCF for one year before moving up to a bigger level school. Should be a crazy off season starting here in a few weeks. Virginia literally just hired Bronco Mendenhall so that's not happening. USC found a quarterback and is rolling right now, couldn't see them going through another coaching change. UCLA is having a bad year, but only way Mora is leaving is if for whatever reason a NFL team hires him. Rosen is hurt and will be back next year that'll certainly buy Mora another season. Notre Dame, I just don't see Brian Kelly getting fired but then again Auburn fired Gene Chizik a couple years after WINNING the national title, so who knows. That leaves LSU and Texas as the most likely landing spots for Tom Herman. Honestly, with how the LSU administration handled Les Miles last season, and with Texas being a mess, I wouldn't want to go to either of those schools if I was Herman. He's a young guy, only 41 and with the way he's been recruiting at Houston he'll continue to have success there. He can be patient and wait for the perfect opportunity to come up, maybe when Saban retires and takes over Bama, or if Harbaugh leaves for the NFL and takes Michigan, maybe takes over Meyer at Ohio St, or even Bob Stoops at Oklahoma. Coaches like a chance to succeed, but they also appreciate stable administrations
  3. "We're an inside zone team-we haven't been very good at that"......then you're not an inside zone team. Why is it so hard for coordinators to adjust their philosophy to the talent on their team?
  4. Florida St. is playing this Friday night, Clemson played on a Friday this year, heck Stanford and Washington played a top 10 game on a Friday. Doesn't seem to have a major effect on those schools and their recruiting. Anyone who thinks playing on Friday's is the end of the world is making a big deal out of nothing.
  5. Man if I was Danny Etling, I would be really offended they used John Parker Wilson to simulate me...
  6. we helped them get to 62-3 with the playcalling though. At some point you have to concede the game, and try to run some form of an offense. Seemed every play in the 2nd half was launch it downfield on a prayer. That stops the clock, and allows your defense to continue to get run over.
  7. part of me thinks it'd be hilarious if the media pressured Riley on Armstrong's wardrobe change instead of the offensive playcalling
  8. Really happy we decided not to offer Joe Burrow...
  9. Minnesota might have the quietest 7-2 in football history. I had no idea they have only lost twice. As far as rivalry trophy's go, the $5 Bits of Broken Chair trophy is the only one I acknowledge.
  10. Not the best example. Notre Dame is trash this year
  11. I don't think the coaching is nearly as bad as many people think. We simply don't have the talent to compete with the Ohio St's and Alambama's of college football and our offensive line is really banged up. It's hard to win games when your line is trashed. The talent difference is not so drastic to get beat 62-3. As far as a talent aspect, we're right in line with Wisconsin who was able to take Ohio St. to overtime. I know Ohio St. is talented, but coaching certainly deserves a lot of the blame last night
  12. Getting beat 62-3 on a nationally televised game, and the potential of our starting QB missing the rest of the season is a little deflating
  13. Dude has battled injuries his whole career. Body is probably worn down at this point
  14. Tonight sucked, and the game was heading down a bad path before TA went out, but you are way off base. Riley has at least 4 more years left at Nebraska. Were starting to compete with Ohio state on the recruiting front. sarcasm? because Ohio St. may pull in one of the best recruiting classes of all time
  15. We blitzed a lot in past games. A few times today, doesn't seem as much as we usually do. But we certainly blitz a lot more than Bo ever did
  16. Ohio St. currently beating us by more than they beat Rutgers. So there's that
  17. What'd you want him to do? Kick the field goal to put up more points? Defense has to stop him, I've seen no evidence of Ohio St running up the score. I've seen a lot of evidence that our team looks completely lost out there
  18. Because we're putting up less of a fight than Indiana, Northwestern and Wisconsin did against Ohio St and looking more like Rutgers and Tulsa
  19. Same here...I think we have the talent. Now the staff though.........at least the coordinatorsI think the opposite. Why do you think we have the talent ? Is that what you think is on display tonight? Two equally talented teams with one just being severely out coached ? We have more talent than Wisconsin and Northwestern, and they didn't get murdered like this. Well did Urban put red tape on all the other games when they played Wisconsin and Northwestern!?!?....idk I'm looking for anything at this point
  20. For kicking our ass? No, for trying to pile it on and grinning like a dickweed. lol he made us look like Bowling Green in the first half why wouldn't he be grinning?
  21. Did we practice this week? Was there a gameplan at all? Offense, defense, special teams these guys look completely lost out there. Also that 4th and 1 play by Langs was laughable. Tries his hardest to make Tommy a pocket passer, then gets a pocket passer in Fyfe and decides to roll him out with nowhere to throw
  22. Mark May just picked us to win....first national pundit I've seen pick Nebraska
