  2. TRIGGER WARNING: I don't necessarily want to argue scheme either, but it looks like 2 deep zone; O'Hanlon's got his back completely turned to the outside receiver to watch any middle-passing routes. However, the only route that comes into his area is the Go that the outside receiver runs; the TE cuts an inside route off at 10, and it looks like an Out/Slant combo at the top of the formation. Did he catch the guy? Sure. If he would have stayed deep as the deepest, the guy wouldn't have been open in the first place.
  3. I watched the play 3 times today; O'Hanlon might have chased him down, but it's because let the deep route behind him' there was no seam route drawing him to the middle of the field. Regardless of what West was doing, deep as the deepest.
  4. I don't care how many INTs O'Hanlon had against OU, that's still his defining moment in program history.
  5. There was a rumor talked about last week on Sharp and Benning that Eichorst made a play for Musselman a few years ago, and he passed.
  6. We all know the biggies: John Ruud's hit, the out of bounds catch against Penn State in '82, the phantom clip in the '94 Orange Bowl. What are some "under the radar" plays throughout Husker history that still grind your gears? One for me has to be Kenny Bell's block in the B1G title game against Wisconsin. That should be on a how-to reel in terms of proper blocking technique.
  7. How long until Erstad is on Moos' radar?
  8. It's pretty black and white: his coach talked about finding him a new spot, which a coach doesn't do if he wants a player on the roster.
  9. Depends on what metrics you want to use. Daum had minimal D1 offers out of HS: his best was from South Dakota State. Not from Nebraska or Creighton. Also, as has been pointed out, his coach tried to process him out of the program after his redshirt season. He's worked his tail off to become as prolific a scorer as he is. Heiman has offers from multiple D-1 programs that have had success in March; Nebraska beat out Creighton and Omaha for his signature. So comparatively, at that point in their careers, the three D1 schools in the state all judged Heiman as a better prospect than Daum. Could it be reactionary? Sure. Miles and Mac see what Daum has done and decide they probably don't need to miss on another small school kid from in-state. However, by virtually all metrics we have access to, Heiman is thought of more highly than Daum was at that point in time.

  11. Daum was nowhere near a D-1 player coming out of high school.
  12. To an extent, I agree. Shatel, absolutely. Dirk does, but he's so good at longform writing, it makes up for when he stirs it up.
  13. That, and it allowed the staff to use the rest of the week for meetings.
  14. Replace Pelini with Frost, and we've got a stew.
  15. The "return" portion might be a bit tricky, here.
  16. I wore out my first DVD copy of Ocean's 11.
  17. Out @ Barfy. All that guy does is stir ****.
  18. My thought process is this: there aren't enough 3 point shooters on this roster to compliment what it has in terms of being able to drive the ball. Palmer and Watson can drive the basketball, but there isn't a shooter on the roster that can either hit a shot when the defense collapses on a drive, or keep a defender honest and give the driver a lane. Nebraska also doesn't have a Big that can control rebounding in the lane in that type of an offense. That isn't as big of a deal unless you've got a transcendent talent like Bagley/Carter/Ayton down low.
  19. I'll ask the obvious: is this really a roster that can win in the NCAA tournament?
  20. TV shows could be a good topic, too. I have some weird choices there, I think.
  21. Top Gun would be next on my list. As for college movies, Super Troopers and Van Wilder were on loop in my dorm room for most of Freshman year.
  22. Tickets: ordered. Got the first showing at the Alamo.
