  1. I'm not a Dirk fan either. I think him and Bahe have the reactionary, hot-take market cornered in Omaha media. He's not necessarily wrong, though.
  2. For anyone interested in the Arop situation, Bruce Chubick just gave a GREAT interview on 1620 about it.

Didn't hear the one this morning but to the papers yesterday he was pretty upset. He thinks Arop deserves the scholarship and thinks it's kind of low for them to now want Arop to go to prep school first.

It's dumb that Chubick can comment on this but Miles can't. There are two sides to this, and I'd like to hear Miles' explanation.

It's not a direct quote but the reasons seem to be that Arop lost a year of development with his injury so they want him to take another year to work on his offensive game (supposedly).

  3. Uh, no. The kid needs to work on his skills, but he's more than athletic enough to play at Nebraska. Like I said, it is not a great loss. It is not like this kid was a top 50 talent. I agree he is more than athletic enough to play at Nebraska but replaceable for sure. The problem now is that everyone's boyfriend Miles is starting to look like an ass if this story drags on. We'll have to agree to disagree, then; I think he can play at this level, as do a lot of people. Plus, let's not put Nebraska Basketball on a pedestal; it's not like they're overflowing with talent to the point where a kid like Arop can't go in and play at some point.
  4. Chubick is on 1620 right now, being very, very honest. Not putting the program on blast, but being very clear that he isn't happy with Miles or Nebraska right now. Says Miles is in "panic mode". - Mentions how two programs in Omaha have embraced Nebraska kids, and how it's not a coincidence that those programs are on more solid footing than Nebraska is. - Mentions that while he'll still root for Nebraska and won't prevent Nebraska from recruiting kids from South, but he's done with Nebraska, otherwise.

  6. Chubick sounds pissed, and rightfully so. Makes me wonder how this is going to affect Ed Chang.
  7. In the context of taking everything Sam says with a grain of salt.
  8. Probably not, with the mandate that only the #1 and # of the year can be sold now. Again, thanks Sam Keller.
  9. Seriously: f#*k Baylor.

  10. There's a reason, relatively speaking, why Nebraska wasn't very successful from 1988 to 1991.I disagree with your assessment of those years' success. But even accepting it, a QB recruited in '90, for example, wouldn't have been playing in most cases those years anyway. Recruiting is a lagging indicator. That's why I said "relative"; comparative to the previous 4 years or the successive 4 years, that time period could be considered "down years". Yes, but then by that theory, we should look at the 2 to 4 recruiting classes proceeding that cycle. Anyway, the point is, without context that list posted by the recruitnik "reporter" is pretty meaningless and obviously designed to incite just these sorts of arguments. What context does there need to be, though? All of the QBs mentioned were hard misses by Pelini and staff.
  11. That guy is an Iowa hack. He brings up a good point. Not really. I'm not finding anywhere that says Williams will be able to recruit while on suspension. Also, considering the source of that tweet and where he works, I'm more than comfortable completely dismissing what he has to say.
  12. That's easy: fit. Some kids are better fits at different schools. Baker Mayfield, Cam Newton, Scott Frost; all players who were better fits, for one reason or another, at their destination schools rather than their first.

  14. I have no problem with Bush leaving. He saw the writing on the wall, and has been incredibly mature and professional about it. Good luck to him in the future.

  16. You probably are; it has more to do with POB and Tanner Lee.

  20. - Yearlong suspension, with mandatory rehab paid for out of his own pocket. - No contact with the team, outside of his son. - Mandatory, random testing both during his suspension AND if, by some sliver of luck, he is retained. Only if these are agreed upon and met, should he be allowed to INTERVIEW to get his job back.
  21. You mean, the nonsense you posted in italics?
