It's a gf, not a wife. What is Billy Joel knocking her up for? He doesn't need another kid at 65. Bad move Billy.

  2. LP had a rough go of it from the beginning. His story is pretty sad actually. Found this old article from '97 that interviewed his foster family. Who Is Lawrence Phillips? Sad Childhood, Destructive Behavior Are The Most Prominent Features In A Puzzling Portrait.
  3. Darlington is gonna take us straight to the Super Bowl. Then he's going to solve world hunger. Then..smh.
  4. That guy was on top of the world for a time when he was a Husker. Just sad news. I hope somehow it proves to be not true.
  5. I always thought he seemed like a really nice guy and I thought he did a really good job on the radio broadcasts. I always enjoyed listening to him. Such sad news. R.I.P.
  6. I hope you're wrong and I think you're wrong about the staff's opinions on Darlington. He's live and going full contact. What we don't know about him and Bush is what those first 14 practices really looked like? Was Bush's performance on Saturday an anomaly? I had heard that he threw quite a few picks during spring ball and Darlington had not. But, there was so much chatter about Bush. Was that just the media or does the staff really believe that? Based on Saturday, Darlington should be the backup, at least. Based on 7 completions? So many jumping the gun and so much learning and football still yet to be played. Both Bush and Darlington would get eaten up if you put them against a team with a pulse right now. As would Armstrong. Make no mistake. I'm hardly confident in him either. Pretty safe to assume he's going to be the starter however and hopefully by then these coaches make a game plan that emphasizes what he can do the most consistently without turning the ball over consistently. Frankly I think it's going to be challenging but one thing even I have to remind myself that he along with everyone else are dealing with new coaches and new plays and are starting over from scratch in terms of the offense they'll be running. He's still learning too. So we're gonna see a lot of wildcat? Lol. I really hope it doesn't come to that!

  9. Crouch's completion percentage would not have been a fit for Mike Riley's system. The most passing attempts Crouch ever had was 189 attempts in 2001. He completed 55%. Sean Mannion had 453 passing attempts in 2014, completing 62%. So obviously, this is a reasonable comparison and a conversation TOTALLY worth having...............derp. Not sure what the "derp" vocabulary is all about........but anyway..... The Mannion/Crouch "comparison" illustrates my point exactly. I don't believe Mike Riley's offensive philosophy is an effective blueprint in the college game. What is this blueprint? How will this blueprint be applied at Nebraska? If the spring game showed me anything, it was that I don't know exactly what to expect as an offensive philosophy. Seemed like a little bit of everything. So please, answer the above questions and enlighten me a bit on what exactly this offensive blueprint is that I should be expecting to watch fail in the upcoming seasons. The blueprint at Nebraska is closer to 189 pass attempts than 453. Tom Osborne gave Mike Riley the direct advice that it's important to run the football. Mike Riley has more of an NFL blueprint. Riley has put a few quarterbacks in the NFL and Nebraska has not......yet Riley's college football trophy case is empty. You think we are going to throw the ball over 400 times a year?!?! Bahahahaha Well, we threw it 359 times this year and I don't think three more attempts per game is at all out of the question so, yes, I think we'll throw it 400 times this year. It won't even shock me if we push 500. I think how many times we throw it is going to be based on how successful we are throwing it to begin with. Especially if guys like Armstrong (or whomever's under center at the time) are throwing it to the other team.
  10. If we don't have the threat of the long ball, how much are the safeties going to move? If the long balls are erratic ( ), then is that threat even there anyway? It could be a matter of choosing what's important. Sure, it's nice to have that, but it's much, much more important to have able decision-making and sound fundamentals. It seems like only Darlington displayed these things consistently today although probably all the QBs have a long way to go. Gives me the feeling that Riley's guy at QB could be somebody not on the roster yet. This year could be more about making the most of what we do have. Agreed.
  11. That's sad. I almost went to Northwestern's spring game today just to get my football fix until I found out it was nothing more than an actual practice with hardly any actual scrimmaging. What the hell Stanford fans?
  12. ^ Yeah he's totally a head scratcher. From Elite 11 and a pretty sought after recruit to apparently 5th string. He did have a nice run today though. None of these QB's lit the field on fire. They hit some open receivers when they were supposed to. Even though Broekemeier went up against the reserves he put the ball in some pretty tight windows. I had no he lit it up like he did in HS. Completed over 70% of his passes and threw for 2,047 yards and 31 touchdowns with just 3 interceptions and was the Nebraska Gatorade player of the year his senior year. He also set records for touchdowns, passing yards and completions in the Shrine Bowl that year. This is his senior year. I'd like to see more of him. These coaches seem to be pretty high on Bush. Scratching my head on that one. To quote Yoda he is not ready.
  13. Darren Sharper to be subject to penile arousal testing during probation
  14. Wilbon looked a little like DeAngelo Evans when he popped that 31 yarder. I think we definitely need to see more of him.
  15. All of the quarterbacks had good and bad moments. Stanton seems like a head case. Team Broekemeier.
  16. Best throw of the day by Broekemeier.
  17. Kind of can't blame him cause Carriker was a beast! Cool tidbit.
  18. Laughed way too hard at this. I did also. Best response so far!
