  1. with a dozen extra "i'm smart, i told you so's" on his way to that 2200 yard season.
  2. Beck said before last year that he was giving the WRs more freedom to adjust their route during the play to get open, ie: TA has no real clue where they are going to be, especially on deep routes where the ball is in the air longer and the adjustments are magnified by that extended duration. So yeah, I'd think dictated routes at the snap of the ball are going to improve accuracy and reads. Where I'd like to see TA improve is in throwing his receivers open. It might not be placed exactly where the route was determined to be, but outside shoulder versus inside, underthrow a WR and let them make the play or draw a PI, jump balls, etc. That's where the receiver needs to make the adjustment, not turning an out into a post or some other manifestation of the original play just because there is an open spot on the field. Maybe after a play breaks down, but not within the progressions.
  3. let me see if I'm following this correctly: guy suggests it would be much easier to read WRs if they ran predefined routes - you respond that the routes can't be pre-determined because defense dictates route - guy responds if they are running all over the place it has to be more difficult to read - you now respond that they do in fact run pre-determined routes because it's not backyard football and TA knows where his receivers are going. did you just lose an argument w/ yourself?
  4. Bwahahaha! I plan on starting three or four win threads myself. wouldn't that been a losses thread?
  5. While that sounds good in theory, I worry about offenses counter-attacking that and using our aggressiveness against us. Oh well, it will be fun to watch though. better than running for 10 yards because our DL plays paddy-cake and doesn't pressure.
  6. less than the number of threads started to predict the number of wins...
  7. This and hasn't the issue there been money. They can't afford to pay Power 5 money for coaches or pay out the ones they've hired. I know the DC that just left was making almost 500k - which isn't exactly chump change for a coordinator. I don't think CO can hit the 5 mill to get a tier 1 candidate, but they are firmly in the ballpark of what most make which is 2-2.5 million. And if I remember right their assistant pool was almost identical to Nebraska's Tim Beck inflated number.
  8. does that say "Jerky" on it's jersey?
  9. Somewhat separated? Last season? - Try fully separated over the the last 3: 12-0, 12-2, 14-1. At the end of this season he could very well be 53-3, or 52-4 over his first 4 years. That, my friends is dominating. Only Urban, Saban, and maybe Pete Carrol can claim anything near that since our old buddy Tom went 60-3.
  10. these are the 3 that jumped out at me, including Ole Miss. Ole Miss was like Kansas in 2007 - everything fell together. They're going to be starting a new QB this year and they'll return to their place in the bottom half of an overrated SEC.
  11. Nebraska, Texas, Michigan, Penn State, Miami and Florida...
  12. So wait until after some football? After what - 3-4 weeks? So Nebraska and 90% of the rest of the teams listed in this poll will have beat a boatload of patsy's and the poll would be almost identical with almost everyone in the top 25 being 3-0? The main difference is you'd have even more SEC teams ranked higher because they are smart enough to schedule early conference games - which will carry a lot more weight than beating South Dakota St in a poll - and a loss won't move them a bit since losing to LSU is about equal to beating McNeese State with a late TD in the 4th quarter.
  13. ...if that's the weakest link -- then I think SE is on to something here...
  14. Other than just expiditing the process, I don't see why he wouldn't take all of his 5 official visits. Can't really blame him for wanting to see what's out there. I think he ends up at Nebraska, but I guess we'll know over the weekend Especially considering it's summer versus the usual December/January visits. The kid is on summer vacation, no school, probably no work since he thought he'd be in Wisconsin right now, and he's getting steak and lobster dinners every night and a nice hotel to crash this week courtesy of Miami, Nebraska and Alabama. No hurry, enjoy the hotels and "hosts" - then get u'r ass back to lincoln and get to work.
  15. Hopefully the uncertainty of Goldens tenure helps lean him towards Nebraska. I don't think Golden's future is as uncertain as everyone thinks. He guided Miami through their last few rough years when it wasn't even his fault. He has the #8 recruiting class for next year according to 247. He also already has 8 verbals for 2017 and 4 for 2018. The guy is turning around a pretty big ship. I would imagine he has 3-4 years left. But thats just me keep in mind his first few classes were #7, #9, #20, #12 - so it's not like this guy has been without talent all this time and is finally turning recruiting around. He hasn't done anything with what he's had thus far, so short of a #1-3 class those #8-#15 classes he has lined up aren't going to make much of a difference. EDIT: and the ones before him were: #19, #5, #15, #16...not exactly void of talent.
  16. lighten up, it's a waiting game unless you want to pen a love letter or provide another breakdown of his film. beyond that...we're twiddling thumbs or derailing the thread here and there.
  17. It's always a conversation until a grown man writes love letters to 18 year old boys. signed it "sincerely" - clearly not a love letter.
  18. This is what the last few years of Bo have given us. Tempered expectations. The last few seasons have been a heck of a lot closer to 7 wins than 11 IMO. So...there is much less of a margin of difference between 7 and 9, and 9 and 11 (or really even 10). Because the margin is so small, a play her or a play there and we're at 7 wins instead of 9...I could see that happening fairly easily. Whether that is expectations or possiblities, doesn't really matter to me. The last few years have taught me to temper everything. It's why even w/ a staff upgrade and a schedule that every year ends up easier than it appears pre-season, I'm not expecting more than 9.
  19. Well my wheelhouse is football- not video games, basements of dungeons and dragons. But I dont comment or debate those subjects When Im discussing a topic Im debating, I know enough about that subject to be able to actually spell it correctly, or I wont bother commenting If I didnt know enough about the subject to talk intelligently about it, I wouldnt bother debating it. But thats just me Thats why some guys have 8,000 posts and others have just 800 As to the structure of the posts- I always try and speak to the audience. The ones that need it most seem to have a real reading and comprehension problem So doing everything this way makes it easier for them to read and follow If we were having a debate about proper punctuation and sentence structure in an English Lit forum, I would write differently or not comment at all But this isnt that type of forum, what matters is the topics at hand- Husker Football If leaving periods out really gets to someone, they probably need to get some very serious counseling, I'll leave those trivial details to the hall pass monitors and safety patrol nerds we used to walk right by when we were kids You used some form of the word "debate" 4 different times above. I think this is the core of your issues. "This isn't that type of forum" Replace "debate" with "discuss" and approach things from that angle, and you'll have far fewer problems here. As for the 8,000 to 800...you've likely posted more than any other user in the last few weeks...since I see your "debate" spewed through a large portion of every topic. How it took you this long to get to 900+ I have no idea. (is this a sock puppet created long ago to +1 another account you've now gotten banned?)
  20. not sure Adidas will appreciate it.
  21. Was there weekend of the 08' super bowl. Obviously that week was slightly skewed towards the side of awesome, but Tempe was one hell of a great place - and mill ave. tops every place I've ever bar hopped.
