  1. That is entirely untrue, especially related to this article. What about this article is incorrect or slanted? He quantified something we all know is a legitimate problem on this team, and said we can't win big until we clean it up. He even said "Nebraska can do it, too." I'm not the largest fan of Dirk, but he's a good writer, and I bet if I slapped Steve Sipple's name on this article and showed it to this board nobody would be complaining about it. That is what touched a nerve with me. Football isn't that simple. Turnovers are a problem yes, but so is giving up 500+ yards in multiple games. Those two combined led us to be a 10-4 team, it wasn't just turnovers. Clean up turnovers and we maybe get another win or two, fix the defense and we maybe talking about only losing one game.
  2. So I was drunkenly reading the ESPN ticker while watching the X games last night and it said something to the effect that it was actually a female cousin's voice not Raniah. And here it is on espn. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/8880021/ronaiah-tuiasosopo-cousin-was-voice-talking-manti-teo-report
  3. There are a lot of really dumb smart people out there. It's the difference between book smarts and street smarts.
  4. I think they started that on '12 accoutnability (it was the year after we moved). You can't create a brand new conference or change the names but you can realign them.
  5. Question. Can you create your own playbook for online play? If so, everyone is about to be hosed. You could in 12. But you had to select it when you were picking your team (same screen as uniforms and defensive scheme). It took FOREVER if the team wasn't alphabetically close to what you named the playbook. People would leave before I got to it. So you needed to set it as your default playbook in settings, but then you have the same problem if you want to switch to the teams actual playbook. I don't own 13 so I don't know if it's the same or not.
  6. Their steaks are too dang salty, Ribs are pretty good though. Love me some chicken fried steak with mashed taters and green beans!
  7. It would be a difficult shot. You'd have to do it in the Fall or Winter, after the leaves have fallen, and you'd have to try to find some kind of high ground, because there are just too many trees. There aren't any taller buildings around to take the shot from, and even if you got to the roof of a two-three story building, I think the trees around the stadium/loop would obscure it too much. Yeah I knew it wouldn't be easy, it's just one of those pipe dreams I've always had.
  8. Seriously how many of you knew that there was a a World Championship of American Football, and that Cody Hawkins was the quarter back of the 2011 USA championship team? http://www.cracked.c...ootball-abroad/ Team USA: http://en.wikipedia....n_football_team
  9. ^successful coaches don't throw tantrums, yell, or lose their cool... EVER!
  10. The brick fits really well in person like Twinkletoes said. Personally the only thing I don't like are the N's. I wish they were solid and not tiled. It's really deceptive how large the expansion is you think you have a grasp of its size when you're walking up to it, but it just keeps filling up you vision the closer you get. Great work again Knap! If you ever get the time and feel artsy I think a really great shot would be somewhere down the road on Vine street looking towards the stadium. I would love to do it myself but I just don't have a camera that could pull it off.
  11. That's pretty cool, he's always been a great innovator of safety in the racing field, seats, harnesses, fire suites, helmets you name it. Weight is something that everyone has been trying to deal with for awhile now and I don't think it's easy to keep the helmets light and maintain integrity, padding, and comfort. I would guess, like in the car industry, to make something lighter it takes more exotic materials and those tend to be more expensive. He brought up a point I've wondered about now for several years, why does the outside of the helmet have be harder and distribute the force? I know it spreads the force out and lessens the impact on any one area but why can't they come up with something similar to crash barriers on a high way or safer walls in racing, something that is softer and increase the time of impact absorbing more energy? Probably a tall order but I've felt for awhile now that's probably safer than what we have currently.
  12. Says the person who is never where they say they'll be. I've tried three times now. Three times. That's kinda funny. Sorry Is there a Husker Board soap opera story here?
  13. It's a joke, right? Afraid not. Whether it was intentional or not the BCS is rigged. When you start the preseason with 7 of 14 teams from one conference ranked in the top 25, and 5 of those are in the top 10 things are going to be messed up. It's just a reflection of how screwy the calculations are. Vandy isn't really penalized because they only lost to ranked teams, 3 of them in the top 10. I can't really explain Northwestern that's just stupid, but our situation may explain it. We got screwed because we lost to two unranked teams and we were basically penalized for playing an extra game.
  14. I highly doubt that any respectable agent would allow his client to sign a contract like that, unless it was the standard around the nation which I don't think it is.
  15. He can actually have valid points, which is refreshing since he's not Skip Balless, but the way he constantly yells I can't stand to listen to them. He's more of the reason I don't watch their shown anymore than Skip is
  16. Truth Well if you're going to embellish it and then embrace the lie to national media that runs 24/7 then I don't know what the problem is.
  17. That's probably true, you could get crazy echoes/reverb or what have you. Or in another bizarre case I bet you could have dead spots where the sounds waves are inverses and just cancel each other out, that would definitely be no bueno. Side note. There are actually speakers under the original east stadium over hang.
  18. am i the only one concerned about their possible agendas and framing of stories? Nope! But unless you can influence millions of American's viewing habits not much is going to change.
  19. ESPN is kind of like google news, they just collect the articles and stories from the source and then present them to you. Bob Lee is about the only person their that seems to do any investigating. Look at when we were leaving the Big 12 they differed to that guy from Orangebloods for god sake.
  20. They're not journalists they're analysts! Just ask this guy...
  21. Seriously flood? It's a thread about the stadium expansion and other projects, what did you expect (not to mention it's the off season)? If you want other Husker football topics then just browse through the forum, there are quite a few other topics here that might tickle your fancy. If you want Recruiting there's a forum for that and it's got quite a bit of discussion as well. But don't come in here and complain about discussion that is relevant to the thread, that's just stupid.
  22. They have to replace the turf this summer, that stuff is ancient (for fake turf) and literally falling apart. My guess is they will wait till after the majority of construction is completed before they replace it. It probably only takes a month or so to do it doesn't it?
