I feel like very small bits of execution on plays like this will refine as the year goes on and these will be big gains/TDs.

You mean that PI that was complete nonsense? They showed every angle of that play and none of it showed him grabbing or interfering with the WR. Edit: mav beat me to it.

He has 10 rec for over 130 yds and td total in 2 games. He was also running open a few times today including on the end of game int.

Morgan and Spielman both look good but of course we knew that already. I also think Aaron Williams looked good.

Exactly this, although Milton started from like the 3rd game on and was recruited just before that season so its really almost the same thing he did here. IIRC there was some reason Milton got behind in camp(injury?) otherwise he might have started game 1 like Martinez.

Frost also inherited QBs that didnt fit his system. The difference is that Frost went out and got a player that started day 1 and looked amazing in his system. Riley had every opportunity to do the same, and in 3 years never once did what Frost did in his first game. I think TA was an amazing player but as a coach its your job to design an offense that works for him or get someone that can run your offense now.

Yeah it seemed like Frost was a little upset about that since he mentioned it in the post game presser. I can understand it though. Coming into the game late to try and win it is probably an insane feeling. Who knows if some snaps against Akron would have helped with the nerves a little.

Just re-watched the shortened version of the game. Bunch played well especially given the circumstances so I dont want to take anything away from him... But Morgan had 2 steps on his defender and a whole lotta endzone to drop the ball into on the 2nd to last play. Didn't remember him being that open the first time. Even a short throw on that play would have been nice for a 50/50 ball and potential PI. Still not his fault we lost by a long stretch. I also noticed that Martinez does not like pitching the ball on options. Dont think its an issue, just an observation. I'm sure they will look at that in the film room during self scouting.

Agreed with Hans. An A&M wr caught a pass and got rolled up on today and it looked just as ugly. He got up and kept running no issues. Very hard to tell from a clip.

I was a little wait and see with Chinander, but from what I saw today I am getting on board with him. See us actually "win" some jump balls on defense. I got so used to those just being caught on us recently. Khalil was a monster today, and Gifford looks very good rushing. Adding that could get him some PT on Sundays eventually. And yeah after spotting them 14 points off turnovers they could have easily sent the defense into a funk, but they came out and made some key stops after that. Don't even get me started on the poise of Martinez after that start. I honestly believe that if he didn't get injured he leads to a score with 1 minute to go. Just a pure gamer.

Those blitz packages are something that I haven't seen here in a long time. Under the previous staff we tried to do some, but players never executed them and we would have players running into each other getting stuffed in the same gap. I would maybe like to see a little more pressure, but am very excited to see a competent pass rush. We also stuffed their run game. And they did pass for a lot of yards but they have an NFL QB and probably an elite NFL WR and 7.0 ypa is pretty meh in college tbh.

CU didnt win because of clock management. They lost because a few key mistakes from a team playing their first game. We looked light years ahead of last year imo and I really hope Martinez is OK because he looked like an absolute stud. I learned that some people will melt down no matter how we lose. We just outgained them on the ground 329 to 44. We looked like the better team but made first week mistakes. I like the direction of this team.

Hard to tell from what they showed on tv but that colorado defender looked like he kept twisting after the play. No one got upset though so maybe not.

I've always wanted to buy one of those jerseys but that game is too depressing to think about. Hopefully we start winning and that loss will seem insignificant enough to not care.

I agree on the bad luck but those alts for the UCLA game looked so good esp with the matte helmets.

I think that screen is gonna look pretty awesome lit up before night games. I do have to agree with @Toe though they could have done a little more work to make it fit with the environment. The straight bottom edge with the arch visible behind looks bad. Hopefully at some point they put a little design effort into it. It looks like maybe its set up with laser lights on the side to add a little extra flair.

Do they pat you down or wand you coming in? I dont even own boots like someone else in here mentioned. Might have to have to bust out the flask in underwear routine. Bonus to that no one else will want to share. Downside is some real warm whiskey.

Not to derail this thread but im going up for the Purdue game and forgot they dont sell alcohol. Would it be hard to sneak in a flask?

I would be going to Sam's Boat but got a 2 month old at home so we are gonna enjoy his first game at home alone. Waller Creek sounds fun i might go down and check out a game this year if i can.
