  1. I traveled for thanksgiving. However, we didn't have a family gathering and my household was around less people (basically no one) than if I stayed home. The roads were a lot less busy than past years. Most years I would have traveled to Nebraska and ended up at a huge family gathering. Sometimes getting out of town and to a place where you won't interact with people isn't a bad thing.
  2. The NCAA already doesn’t handle the CFP or the bowl system. This doesn’t really seem to solve anything. It is all about the P5 keeping as much money and power as possible for themselves.

    B1G Week 8

I bet Fox will be pissed if it misses out on OSU/Mich and the potential of not having an undefeated OSU in the B1G championship game.

    B1G Week 7

This is all on the B1G administration.
  5. Whatever it is, I am sure it will be met with complaining and grumbling. We see it all the time in Ohio. It is like people don't understand the times we are living in or they just have a short attention span.
  6. They are saying it is probably a torn acl. Here it is in slow motion if you want to see it.
  7. It is hard to be a Bengals fan. That was a nasty injury.
  8. Engineering isn't for everyone. I can't say that I am seeing that where I work and our placement rates within the field are really high. I have friends in industry that have a hard time finding engineers, even some with little or no experience. It may also depend on the engineering disciple. A mechanical or electrical might have an easier time finding something with good/great compensation more so than a civil. Some of it is their willingness to go where the jobs are.
  9. I work for a small school and we do the same thing with our engineering college. However, it is more expensive to run an engineering college (faculty salary and other program costs) than an arts and science or business college, so it does make sense to charge more.
  10. How about we incentivize programs (example: engineering degrees) and let those that want to get a performing arts degree to pay their own way. We also need to look at a return on investment because some of these schools have horrible retention and graduation rates. It would suck to have student debt without a degree.
  11. One of those companies is not like the others. It is interesting to see Nike on that list and to a lesser extent Apple.
  12. The people that trust the president for medical advice were probably not trusting doctors as a whole before this all started. There are many people that think things like essential oils cure everything. You may be right. Trust seems like it would be hard to measure and would rely on anecdotal evidence.
  13. I think a lot of people "trust" doctors until they ask them to change their lifestyle or way of thinking. Most of the time it has nothing to do with politics.
  14. How many people really trusted them in the first place? Maybe trust isn't the correct word, but how many people really listen to them? Look at our population, a lot of people do whatever they want even though it is detrimental to their health. At times it has to be a depressing line of work.
  15. It would be great if the B1G allowed teams to schedule an out of conference game. I think there are a few SEC teams with a sudden open date this weekend. OSU vs Alabama? Wouldn’t that be fun?
  16. Add the Ohio State and Maryland game to the list.
  17. I am partial to Campbell as a coach (go raiders) and I wouldn't be surprised if he stayed at ISU long term. He is just a different guy compared to some of these other coaches. Now that I say that, he will probably go to Michigan or something. I think he would have done well at Nebraska. Saying that, Frost was and is the best option for Nebraska.
  18. I think they didn't want to partner with the government for the R&D because they probably didn't want to give up any rights to the vaccine. They are thinking bigger picture than just vaccinating the US. I think it is a calculated gamble on Pfizer's part. If this works, it will be interesting how they will use it in areas of the world that has limited or no electricity. The storage requirements for the current iteration of this product will limit the reach into some areas.
  19. The name "operation warp speed" still cracks me up. Again, the moonshot approach and the compensation in all of this seems to be a good approach. Big pharma and the government working together. If proven safe, how many will be wiling to take it? The messaging needs to be right the first time around on. I know people on the left and right that do not take any vaccinations because they don't trust them.
  20. If pfizer's vaccine is truly 90% effective, can the government get behind some more moonshots? This might be the only thing that Trump really got right with COVID (takes cover for giving him some credit).
  21. The unions can also protect those doing wrong. It isn't a perfect system. I just want it improved.
  22. It will be interesting what free public education might do to our higher ed system. There are already a lot of colleges that are hurting. There are many towns that will be hurting when some of these colleges go under. There are real concerns as to how much more accessible higher education will actually be if public's are made free. Also, can we figure out how to get rid of the need for labor unions? Maybe if we can get to the root of the problem, we won't need them anymore. How much better would it be if people didn't have to pay union dues?
  23. Or even better, from Wisconsin's election commission website. https://elections.wi.gov/node/7220 3.6+ million registered voters on 11/1/2020.
  24. Do you really think that Biden being more progressive would have helped him out? I just don't see someone who voted for Trump flipping their vote because of this. Unless you are saying that more people would have voted if Biden was more progressive.
