  1. Yea the world of outlaws there was awesome. To bad it's got so expensive to have them or to even go to them any more. I still remember when Steve punched Sammy on the front stretch. One of the push truck drivers, whos truck Sammy fell into or on still has the dented fender in his garage lol. Yea they are expecting over 100 cars. Right now we have 40 or 50 something presigned up and it just started. With most of that being regulars. Last year IMCA did no promoting of it at all and had 55 cars with only 20 regulars in the field.
  2. during the 90's the place was fun and the announcers were great. I still hear the announcers calling Doug Deterding the Ringer Dinger when I see him. Who by the way still races out there. Red if you ever decide to come home and go to Eagle. You must pick the Eagle Super National weekend. This is the second year of it and already expecting over 100 sprint cars.
  3. While working on photos and videos of the races this weekend. I got to wondering if any of yall go out to Eagle Raceway. Cause if so maybe I know some of yea and just don't know it yet lol. Im out there every weekend my brothers are Chase and Nate they race in the 305 Sprintcar class. Plus I go out and help with the go cart track on Friday nights. So if you go out there on a regular basis or on occasion. Or if you don't go to Eagle and just want to talk about racing. Here is a good spot to do it lol FYI I put this in BS lounge as most people say racing isn't a sport lol. So Mods if you disagree with that and want to move it to other sports. Please do so.
  4. For a starter gun it'd be hard to go wrong with a Remington 870 or a Mossberg 500 or 590. (My personal preference would be the 870 out of those options.) I know a lot of people swear by the Benelli Nova as well but it's hideous. Honestly, the prices for any of the above used won't be much different than new price. Whatever you do do NOT buy a used gun from a place like Cabelas. Odds are excellent that you could run over to Wal-Mart and buy the same gun new for less money. Any of the above would be adequate for waterfowl as well as upland. I have two mossberg shot guns and won a Benelli Nova. Mossbergs are rally good guns for someone just buying their first gun. They are very functional and very reasonably priced. The Benelli is OK. I mainly just use it for turnkey hunting though. It just seems like it's built for something like that more than pheasant or duck hunting. thanks for the info guys. I thought about checking out what walmart has near me. Cabelas is to far of a drive as I live in Lincoln. I always forget about the one in Omaha. I drive by it all the time to head to Bass Pro instead since they are better lol. I'm thinking of checking out what Scheels has plus couple pawn shops.
  5. ok i'm looking at buying my first shotgun. I'm planning on going pheasant hunting this year with some friends. I have little knowledge of shotguns. So i'm looking for a cheaper one under $400 dollar range. That way I can learn about them with out spending a lot of money. What are some recommendations yall would have?
  6. I think it would be tough for the IRS to do anything. Cause i'm sure the kids arn't doing taxes at all on the money. Nor would the booster or who ever paid them report it either. As that would be good evidence the NCAA could use against them
  7. I'm originally from Mobile Alabama. I don't get to go back home as often as I like but normally am down there at least once every 2 years. The majority of the problem with Alabama fans comes at Auburn for obvious reasons and LSU to a lesser degree. Now i'll share my worse experience with opposing fans. I had just entered the military and reported to basic training at Fort Benning Ga. After a couple weeks of being issued uniforms and finalizing my entrance into the military we were bused to where we would spend 9 weeks of training. On my very 1st day we had to stand at attention and tell our Drill Sargent our name and where we are from. When it was my turn i answer in the correct format (thankfully I wasn't the first one to answer) and when I said Alvo Nebraska. He looked at me and asked if I was a Husker fan. I smiled and said "yes Drill Sargent". Well he was a Colorado fan and made me do push ups. During this my second Drill Sargent walked in asked what I did wrong. He looked at me said "I see per your paperwork you were born in Alabama. So are you a Bama or Auburn fan?" I took a 50/50 guess and said Bama, since I truely root for both. He said well i'm a Florida fan so give me push ups as well. Like I said before that was just day 1. Needless to say I walked out there doing push ups with ease. lol
  8. I clicked on the link to read about the history. When I seen that photo of the hotel. I instantly thought of psycho. I don't know why though lol.
  9. when i'm at work, i check it all day. I answer phones for an insurance company so I have nothing to do in between calls. During the weekend. I'm normally to busy to think about it. Game days I try to log in though.
  10. do you know if the specialty rounds are 9mm or 5.56 standard round for the AR? I'd love to have an AR myself and if I did it'd want the 5.56 as thats what i'm use to with being in the army. But if those rounds are 9mm only. That might make that version a little more interesting.
  11. Gulf War I was pretty damn successful. Disagree. Gulf War I actually 100 years war or more thus never ended. Progress score ..... failure. Just like Afghanistan. Never learned (Hint: Vietnam war). I don't know what you're saying. I found it successful because we organized an international coalition with the limited goal of liberating a country that was just invaded and occupied by a foreign power and accomplished precisely that goal without losing many US lives. From speaking with Iraqi's and american soldiers in the Gulf War we never should of been there. As Kuwait was stealing oil from Iraq and selling it. Sadaam found out and we went in to protect Kuwait. Now because of that Kuwaities are all rich and we helped them steal the oil by defending them. Which put us in Osama's cross hairs cause apparently we had the nerve to stand in his holy soil to do it. That is the gist of the story I got from from both sides. Now I agree we were successful in what we did though.
  12. Probably because some feel with the product on the field. The sell out streak is about the only thing going for the program right now. I'm starting to believe that myself as we have talented kids. Yet keep making the same mental errors every week. I worded that a little wrong. maybe led to some misinterpretation.......... There I fixed it. Hopefully that makes more sense as to what I'm saying. oh ok sorry. Yea I don't see why they wouldn't either.

  14. same here but i'm on the waitlist to type waitlist in the waitlist thread
  15. Rookies geesh. The ultimate home defense would be parking a M1 Abrams tank in your driveway. Little pricey I know. But when you add in robotics and motion detector sensors to move the turret with any near by movement. Plus a sign on the turret that says imagine what I have inside. No one would walk down your sidewalk again. All kidding aside if your doing it for self defense a hand gun is the way to go as they are easy to conceal. Home defense shot guns as mentioned are a good choice. But let me through in the idea of an AR15. They are easy to use with very little recoil. Plus the customizable options are nearly limitless.
  16. ok I'm one of the lazy asses that needs to get off the couch. Since the military the only exercise i get regularly is chasing my niece down or pushing race cars. So what is this 30 day challenge yall are talking about?
  17. well I felt bad I had to miss this. Right up till ADS with out his pants on and Knapp's boner pills were mentioned lol.
  18. The entire disconnect in this thread can be traced to "because he is." You're averring that he IS a deserter. Pretty much everyone else is saying he likely is a deserter. After that line, I don't think anyone in this thread disagrees with your stance. We're just half a step behind you on the "guilty" path. well said +1 The more I hear about this the more I fear about his situation. If he is a deserter, plus was with the taliban for 5 years. Has me worried he could of been feeding them intel, which is why he is still alive. If so then it could of cause deaths of American soldiers or worse. Help plan future attacks on American soil. I doubt he could tell them much. He was what, a private, when he walked off? I doubt he had much information he could give them much plus as you know the battlefield is ever evolving and not much stays the same for long periods of time. Whatever intel he coudl havbe provided woudln't have kept him alive for five years. I see him as a bargaining chip and nothing more. I could very well be wrong but I just don't see a privates knowledge keeping the captors fed with intel for five years. I barely knew my ass from a hole in the ground as a private. I was the same way....sadly so seemed most of the officers lol. But he could give them what he knew about the units on ground. Not to mention intel about possible targets state side. I hope to god i'm wrong but is a possibility. If he's being used as nothing but a bargaining chip. Then why wait 5 years to cash it in.
  19. that concerns me as well. Cause if could of gotten more soldiers killed. But lately i've been hearing some rumblings amongst friends. That apparently Obama did this with out approval from congress, if so he could face jail time. Has anyone else heard anything like this?

  21. At what price for this cat? Who gets to notify the KIA's parents that their son died searching for a deserter? Is the life of a soldier who has served honorably worth that of a deserter? As I mentioned before, I don't know what the going rate is. Was he classified as a deserter when they sent these troops out looking for him? to my knowledge at time of war the moment you go missing your classified as a deserter. When you return would need to prove why you were not where you were suppose to be and that you had full intent of returning. Which would make you awol or excused for your absence. When we are not at war the moment you go missing your classified as awol. Then follow the same procedures to prove why you did what you did. The issue is going to lie with is what is deemed a war. Are we considered at war now via UCMJ or is it just called a war and were only just a occupying force. Depending on UCMJ and his commanders is going to determine if he is reported awol or as a deserter. I've never read nor seen the report. So I personally can't say how he was reported. With his fellow troops stating he was a deserter tells me one of two things. 1. He was reported as a deserter and commander stated this while briefing the troops on the missions to find him. 2. The troops are stating this cause some barracks lawyer [for the non military people, this is an insult] told them he was a deserter.
  22. It has everything to do with the Neanderthals inhabiting that particular patch of earth. Heathens, through and through. Let's see; they stone girls to death just for going to school. Check. They wipe their a#ses with their hands. Check. They sh#t all over a toilet instead of in it. Check. Women are for pro-creating and boys are for "fun." Check. Barbarians, the whole lot of them. I would not lose a single second of sleep if we turned the entire region into an ashtray. Before anyone gets all butt-hurt about what I just wrote, I invite you to spend a little time with the friendly folks of the Middle East. You will walk away stunned... I did two tours in Iraq spending about 2 years there. The first was in Baghdad with an engineer unit, the second in Mosul with an eod unit. Yes i seen some things that I personally don't agree with. Such as 6 year old kids doing work of cleaning porta potties while an adult sat in the air conditioned truck the entire time. Even though we don't agree with it that is their culture. Believe it or not as we were there helping build their government. Those types of things started to change. We would see 2 adults come and cleaning the porta potties and no kids be involved at all. I don't think nor wish or want them to be turned into an ashtray as how you put it. Don't act as if we don't have similar problems here. We have racist/serial killers that kill others due to skin color or for any other criteria their warped minds come up with. Or gangs that beat up, stab, shoot people for walking down the wrong side of a street or wearing the wrong color. We to use to think similar to women were for procreating only. But we have gotten smarter and moved on passed that thankfully. If we can learn from those mistakes and become better as a culture. Then they can to.
  23. This makes this sound even more ridiculous. So, you've got one hour to put a team together, a flight plan, coordinate air assets? No way Chuck, you're full of sh*t... Somebody should have told Chuck this isn't Hollywood, where they get a call from the terrorists saying where they want to make the swap, next scene, a bunch of guys getting a 20 second briefing from a full bird colonel, and cut to them jumping in a blackhawk and taking off... yea doesn't sound right. But never know it could be. Special forces could of already done their briefing then been on stand by. Waiting with a couple helicopter pilots in country for the location. It's possible, doubtful but possible.
  24. I thought the last one was executed in 1945. Yes Obama pretty much had no choice but to bring him home. I don't think he would be executed either but. But could be given death sentence and sit on death row like the others currently are. Either way it'll make news that he is found guilty of desertion an faces X number of years in prison or execution. Or announced he was found innocent with a teary show of family hugging him. Either verdict would make the news. Seeing how deserters are determined by leaving post without approval with intent of not ever coming back. Doesn't surprise me they are still trying to find them all.
  25. Without a doubt, eh? Should be an easy case then. I'll wait for the outcome. You're welcome to assume whatever you like in the meantime. I'm curious. What will it take to provide you with definitive proof? What if the investigation is conducted and the findings classified so that you never see it? What then? If he is found guilty as a deserter and I said if. Then the punishment by UCMJ could be the death penalty. I'm sure some of the information would be classified so we won't get all of the facts. But with the punish he would face they would at least release the verdict. I'm sorry but what ever happened to the American mentality of innocent till proven guilty? Nothing has been proven yet it's all circumstantial at this point. You are worried about him being a deserter. I'm more worried about how was he with the taliban and yet still alive. When every other capture they took was beheaded shortly after with a film of it being released?
