  1. Doesn't seem to be as much excitement this year without any Owa or CC late pushes. I know we're in on some guys here, but not the star-gazing types. Then again we already have a bunch of those guys verballed...
  2. Are we offering a scholly? Gilmore said we were looking for a WR, RB, DE and TE. If we get all four that puts us at 20. He says we'll get 20-21. Who gets the last one? Wile, Carter on signing day? We're recently in on some LBs. Just not sure there's enough schollies.
  3. This is the back-up plan. While I am a bit under the influence because I don't have to work tomorrow, is the phrase "back up" two difference words? Or is it back-up? Curious. wrong on both accounts. Backup. Enjoy your "Tuesday morning coming down." Lucky.
  4. According to Scout he has reopened his recruitment, yet he's still listed as solid. Ohhhhh, Scout.
  5. I've had Peat at the top of my wish list for some time. NFL bloodlines, great prospect, great brother that wants to play with him. This makes him a better get than the other DTs we were in on, IMO. Here's hoping for Lake, but not as positive there.
  6. Why are we looking at Abdallah and Creer then? Are they being recruited as a WR/DB?
  7. I think I read we're projected to take about 21 recruits this year. We're down to 16, plus Bronson from last year and possibly Heard (my speculation is this is doubtful, just a guess. We are recruiting other backs like him and he's not yet enrolled). This puts us at 17 (18 with Heard). Will losing Tray give us another one for this class or will Bo give it to a walk-on that's on the team? Who would it be? Thoughts on the final 3-5 recruits? What positions should we grab and who do you think is realistic?
  8. Bump. Adding "Get his mom a job and we'll land him" jokes. Also old. I'm just a young old-codger at heart.
  9. and another article from the Detroit News saying Mich AD called their meeting "good, but the deal is not done." We'll see....
  10. According to ESPN's rumors section (take that for what it's worth) a couple unnamed (and again) LSU players said Miles told them "I'm probably staying."
  11. ESPY is saying that Stanford could hire from within. I have a gut feeling he was leaning that way before and decided to delay his commitment to see what happened there. I'm guessing if the coaching staff stays mostly intact there, that's where he goes. Hope I'm wrong. I'd love him and his bro in scarlet instead of cardinal.
  12. Peterson would be an awesome get... But I doubt we could compete for him. I'd imagine that he'll stay at Boise until a position at at top place opens up and offers him. NU is not... at least not anymore... a top program and Peterson gets far more national exposure at BSU then he would at NU --- BSU is more often nationally televised than is NU and is a bigger national draw than is NU. He would likely leave only for a bigger draw.... but who knows, maybe he would be drawn to the challenge. Any thoughts on Tom Rathman? Can you elaborate as to what makes Boise a bigger national draw then NU? It isn't. Pull up the ratings and look at TV audiences. NU is huge which is why we rated higher than Missouri on the B10 wish list. I agree Peterson gets the advantage of the "will Boise get its shot" from ESPN but that story is going to fade a touch now as they look at TCU more and more. Boise State is the Gonzaga of football. For a few years ESPN fell all over itself to talk about them. Now they're off the radar a bit again and there is a new team. I think the reason we'd not see a Peterson come here is because his recruiting is pretty much west coast. Its tough to recruit nationally like NU has to. Surprisingly Bo actually does a pretty damn good job at it. They could stay relevant for a while, but the storyline will get old and people just won't care. Now that small-school TCU, BYU and Utah are no longer in the small-school conference, it'll be tougher yet to stay relevant.
  13. I really think Osborne would want someone with Nebraska ties (No not Kiffin) who may stick around a while. I'm sure it kills him to see three coaches in a five year span after the stability that was here. Of course, I have no friggin clue who that'd be. It would not be a good situation or Dear Ol NU
  14. After living in Nebraska, I've lived in Minny, Wisc and now Iowa (real creative username, huh?). Here's what I can say about those fans: Gopher fans aren't bad. Their team is. Wisconsin fans get more geared up for the atmosphere than the actual game. Everything is just different in Wisconsin. The whole culture is alcohol, hunting, cheese and alcohol. Not surprising that they all like to say, "F*ck 'em up Bucky!" There's this arrogance that goes with attending the University there. It's what high school kids strive for. If they don't make it in, they just hope some of their friends do so they can go party with them and live through them. Iowa fans are delusional. One descent year every 10 and they act like they've got a bunch of national titles in their back pocket. Hayden Fry is gone and so are the days of consistently being ranked in the top 5/10. Of the three, go visit Minny for a game, Wisconsin for a beer and Iowa to listen hold onto the past (let's be honest ... that's kind of us right now)
  15. I'm guessing they're looking at him for CB. We already have shorter/shiftier guys with Green and Heard both coming in as freshmen. I can't imagine loosing a thumper in Tray means going to get a third smaller guy in this class (Heard is essentially in this class). We lost Tevin. Staff obviously wanted another CB. Here he is.
  16. My thoughts exactly. I don't think that he would be eligible. Often times these 'semi-pro' teams are just a bunch of townies ranging in age from 18-55 that don't hang it up after high school. Not sure what this league is, but those town teams don't get paid. it's like a lot of smaller towns that have baseball teams.
  17. I think if we stick with Bouzos (if rumors are true), we'll stay at what we have for CB recruits.
  18. Maybe I'm cynical, maybe I read a little too much on the boards, but it seems every other comment is "I wonder how much School A just paid his dad's church." Joke wore out three weeks ago. aaaaaand
  19. #12 on rivals and #17 on Scout. He was a big recruit for us. Let's go get Lyons!
  20. considering this station is based on Little Rock, well, do the math ... or geography.
  21. They'd make room, but I just don't see it happening. I'd have loved to have him, but I'm REALLY excited about our o-line class as it stands.
  22. This is pretty cool. Gave me goosebumps: http://www.thisisnebraska.com/football.php?sport=fb
  23. Sounds like it'll be Franklin from Maryland getting the job, according to ESPY
  24. Does anyone think we will offer Givens a grayshirt, based purely on his age and the fact that he could benefit from being a little older, stronger? I know typically players with three stars don't get grayshirted, obviously other schools would offer a full-ride right away. Again, based only on his age. Then again he's smart enough to earn his degree pretty quickly it sounds like, so maybe a grayshirt wouldn't make sense. Thoughts?
