  1. Shoulder stripes are still wrong. ea will never get it completly right, the uniforms change a little bit every year and they cant keep up.
  2. Completely agree. Add to that that Ohio State WILL have sanctions and be under the microscope for a very long time. What coach (besides Lame Kiffen) wants that. i dont see bob stoops leaving ou ever, they will pay him whatever he wants to stay there. and idk about urban meyer, he hasnt been out long enough to want to come back already i wouldnt think.
  3. i think they are just happy we are gone because everyone could sense the road to the big 12 championship was gonna have to go through lincoln!
  4. Right, but what will he do in game two? Hey, I did it in NCAA football. lol you need to step it up to heisman difficutly my friend! but in all seriousness i think his rushing yards will take a pretty big hit because most of the time he will be asked to catch and through the ball instead of sitting in the pocket, and i think when we run the zone option his reads will be better this year and he wont pull the ball as often. but with that said that will cause the defense to play more honest so he might have alot of big gains. idk only the season will tell all i know is i hope whatever he does it equals lots of points and wins!
  5. i do not dislike tressel at all, but the ncaa needs to make somewhat of an example of him and hit him pretty hard, maybe suspend him for the season and make tOSU lose some scholarships and postseason play. they need to show that lying to them is not going to stand any longer and there are severe punishments for doing so, and that they wont let the integrity of the game be comprimised like it has been. thats my opinion, but chances are this kinda thing will happen again in a few years and that coach will be punished totally differently cuz the ncaa is a joke when it comes to enforcing the rules and holding everybody to the same standard
  6. my guess would also be urban meyer, i think that tOSU would want to get as far away from anything tressel as possible, and that means going and getting someone who isnt his right hand man to be the HC
  7. Furthermore, people have been saying since the 1980's that the option is out of date and can't work in big-time college football, and that notion has been proven wrong time and time again. It doesn't matter what formation or personnel group you use, just how well you execute. this is exactly right, georgia tech made it to the acc championship a couple years ago running the triple option, what matters most is getting the whole offense on the same page and everybody buying into the offense, then executing. it also takes good coaching and calling plays which plays to your teams strengths. our team is gonna be really fast, thats why the coaches are installing a up tempo get the defense on thier heels kinda offense. we have lots of speed and we are gonna try to utilize it
  8. If T.M., at any point, is holding a crystal football above his head, every red-blooded Nebraskan will be behind him, or I'll eat my hat. Feel free to replace "T.M." with "Bo" as applicable. Tmart taking us to a NC would be the hater's biggest dilemma. They hate the kid with a huge passion but they love NCs even more. Much more. To their full credit it wouldn't take long before they jumped on the bandwagon. Same scenario with Bo. NU wins the NC and nobody is going to give a rat's ass how un-pc he is. Yeah, I'd eat my hat if wrong about that too. First off Nebraska wont be going to the NC while Taylor is here. Its much harder to go undefeated now with scholarship limit rule. Plus with our schedule the next 2 years. Along with our shaky OLine, QB, and WR play, a NC appearance is a pipe dream at best. Call me a negative nancy or whatever, but this team has found ways to lose close games and blowing games they shouldve won. Until those parts of the team are taken care of, we can only dream of the Rose Bowl. Under the last seven years of fluffball you're right. However.... We're just an "average" offense away from being to play with anybody and just a "good" (not great) offense away from being an annual top 5 team. Bo has his own staff now and the Clownahan experiment is fully purged. The pipe dream very well may be a lot closer than you think. I agree with you on the part with the part of being just a "good" offense to compete with anybody. Until the team cleans up the sloppiness and inconsistent play, we are a 9-3 team at best. i think we are close to being an annual top 5 team, i mean look at the awesome recruiting job bo has done recently, so its obvious he has an eye for talent and bringing in good players, and i also think he has an eye for coaching talent and he finally has his guys in place for the most part and that this program is going to continue its climb back to greatness
  9. because texas owns the big XII and couldnt stand the thought of not being the featured game!
  10. yea that was a big problem for him while he was at fort scott too, he was so massive he could whip alot of juco players without working hard to do it, i dont think he realized how much the talent difference really is
  11. Good Kerry Meier analogy. If JT turned out to be comparable to Kerry Meier I have no problem moving him to WR. i have two things to say here, one JT is faster than Kerry was so that makes him even more of a threat, the other thing is will JT be the amazing unselfish teamate, i hope so if he is then he will be a special special player
  12. I don't know. Do we really want this? One of the issues I see is not really the whole 'we need an identity' thing, but when it comes down to it, and it's 3rd and 3, late in the game, what does Beck dial up that DOESN'T produce results like we saw vs. aTm and OU. Both times, with plenty of clock, we had a chance to at least come down and tie the game with one of the best FG kickers in the HISTORY of college football, and we could hardly pick up a first down both games. Saw that vs. ISU in '09, too. I remember a lot of games from the option days where it would be 3rd and medium and Osborne would send in some ISO, counter or FB trap. At first glance, it was like, "What the hell is he thinking?" But you'd see those linemen pull around and create driveway-sized holes for guys like Hipp, Rozier, Keith Jones, Calvin Jones, Phillips and Green who would bull through a tackle to move the sticks. The boys in red had those plays imprinted in their brains, and they just pushed opponents around. Then, of course, on 1st down, the all-expected ISO between the tackles suddenly became a deftly hidden play action fake, and then a deep spiral to Johnny Mitchell, Bostick, Rod Smith, Muhammed, Baul, etc. It worked because even if defenses knew one of those two plays was coming, they couldn't stop either effectively. If we're going to be consistent, we can't be a 'jack of all offenses, master of none.' Bread and butter's gotta be somewhere. i agree with you completely about the bread and butter thing, but who is to say we wont run the same play over and over but just out of many different formations? maybe we will run the ball on 3rd and 4 and it will be the same play we ran on 1st and 10 but just out of a completely different formation so the defense doesnt expect the run out of this formation cuz we usually ran out of that formation. idk just a thought i may be completely off base here
  13. +1 to this, i am so excited to see this offense next year because it is going to be so unpredictable and unlike any other in the nation (or it could be anyways) i think the opposing defensive coaches are gonna lose alot of sleep trying to gameplan to stop it
  14. i hope he comes and plays for NU, but i just dont see it happening. it would not be a smart move to risk injury and potentialy lose millions of dollars
  15. Its one thing when you try it out against one of the best defenses in the nation after running it for 2 weeks....however when they played Oklahoma State it seems to work really well, they never ran it prior to the OSU game. It was effective alittle bit against Okie Light. Didnt really think it was the few times they ran in the CCG. It will be interseting to see if Nebraska maybe inserts a few of those diamond plays in the playbook. that would be a good way to get t-mart, rex, green, and heard all 3 in the backfield at once! defenses wouldn't have a clue where the ball was going!
  16. i think the 95 huskers being voted the greatest college football team ever is slightly greater than the cover of madden
  17. yea this kid has thru the roof potential! cant wait to see what he does this year!
  18. like the article said, as long as we stay healthy! thats a big key for us this year
  19. i read on d2football.com today that this morning University of Nebraska-Omaha is moving to Division 1 and joining the Summit League. And in doing so they are going to drop the football team and wrestling program as well. This is very shocking because UNO is tradition rich in football and they are the back to back d2 wrestling national champs.
  20. The steelers ran it in the super bowl
  21. i wouldnt count on starling ever being at NU, i have a friend whos little brother is friends with bubba and bubba has said if he goes top 15 in the MLB draft he is going to play baseball, and honestly he would be a fool to risk inury and play sports in college and miss out on millions
  22. i went with green due to the level of competition he played in high school, however i think they all will be great huskers
  23. idk if we really need to bulk up that much, i mean TCU shut down wisconsins running game and they cant be that much bigger up front then us, idk just guessing on that, but if we dont bulk up some we will need to be deep at the DL and LB positions because of injuries and just the wear and tear of the long season.
