  1. I haven't read this entire thread (it's getting rather long), so this might have been mentioned earlier, but with USC looking for a coach and Texas possibly looking for a coach, NU won't look all that exciting to the big names out there in coaching land. That's all, carry on.
  2. #5 - Bo is not happy here and has gone after several jobs while HC at NU.
  3. The thing about Scott Frost is I believe he would be here for the long term. Anyone else... They will use this as a stepping stone and they are gone. Another name that I think would stay for the long haul is Jim Tressell. Obviously he messed up at OSU, but he paid the price. I would have no problem with hiring him.

  5. My hope is that Bo is already looking for a job. I don't believe he ever liked it here anyway.
  6. I agree. Simply changing his staff won't do it. Time for Bo to go.
  7. Scott Frost. I want someone who wants to be here. I don't care that he doesn't have HC experience.
  8. We need to wait til season is over, but it needs to happen. A program with five national championships is now nothing more than a mid major.
  9. Wisconsin on Thanksgiving Day each year would be awesome. Didn't Barry Alvarez lobby for that?
  10. From Lee Barfknecht's column (and I agree with him): http://www.omaha.com/article/20131015/HUSKERS/131019064
  11. JP is in over his head, but he can only do what he can do. It's Bo's fault for hiring a friend instead of a real DC. And how many of you would like to be chewed out buy your boss in front of the world?
  12. Sounds like most think it's ok if our coach acts like an a$$ as long as we win. I don't feel that way. Time for a change. Six years is long enough.
  13. Take away all of the politics, and I miss the Big 12. It was fun hating Texas and Colorado. Every week I knew who everybody was playing and it was fun to see if CU lost, etc. It will take a long time, but I don't feel the same about the Big 10. Iowa is our "rival" but I never know who they are playing and really don't care. I think overall the Big 10 was important for NU, but from a football stand point I don't enjoy it. In fact, I don't like all of the conference re-alignment in college football. I don't think it has been good for the game.
  14. Pat Forde has some interesting things to say about NU in his Forde-Yard Dash column. I personally think our issues are far more coaching related than recruiting. If we had someone like Nike Saban (not a fan, just using him as an example), coaching the same players we have right now, I think we would be a far better team. Forde's column: http://sports.yahoo.com/news/ncaaf--forde-yard-dash--breaking-down-college-football-s-top-programs-and-where-they-get-their-talent-044110856.html
  15. Yeah, so much for handing out those black shirts before the season started. A lot that did to motivate.
  16. I heard Gregg Doyle interviewed on 590 am in Omaha this afternoon. He thinks very highly of the Nebraska program and Husker fans. Not trying to start trouble, but he did say one thing that I found very interesting and I agree with. He said he really wants to see Bo succeed at NU, but said four losses in a season should never be acceptable at Nebraska.
  17. After a crummy week in Husker Nation - the disagreement, the hurt, and finally the coming together again (for the most part), this is a nice way to end the week. http://www.cbssports.com/general/writer/gregg-doyel/23744699/college-footballs-best-fans-the-ones-wholl-cheer-pelini-on-saturday
  18. I agree. I have heard from people in Lincoln that he is not happy here, has not been for a long time.
  19. I am very happy Bo was not fired over audio-gate, or whatever we're calling it, but I do not believe he likes it here and I guess that sort of sticks with me. We are willing to forgive and forget, but in the end I think he'll be gone in a year or two. This incident might hurt him in the college ranks, as far as getting a job. I would not be surprised to see him return to the NFL.
  20. Kliff Kingsbury at Texas Tech seems to be doing a good job. I'm not sure, but I do not believe he had HC experience. Sometimes experience is overrated. And with Frost I do believe he would be here to stay. I am glad things worked out the way they did for Bo this week, but I do not believe Bo likes it here and he will leave before long.
  21. T.O. handled this well. Bo should give him a call of thanks tonight. Time to move to actual football.
  22. Let RKIII start, but after a series or two had it over to Tommy. He is the future of the team and needs the experience.
