  1. Those are much better odds than what we've had the last couple of years. Having the 3rd best odds at 7:1 is pretty good.
  2. How did Mangino get 10 wins? Four HUGE cupcakes in the OOC, (teams, not real cupcakes) B12 north, NU, CU and KSU were down, ISU is ISU so the only competition was MU. In the south they did not have OU, UTerus and TTech, but Baylor aTm (they were down) and only competition was OSU well said. the only team KU played that had a winning record that year was MU, the last game of the regular season. They missed all the big 3 from the south and caught the rest of the north, minus MU, in their worst years. in other words. a perfect storm for KU. what they did following shows that it truely was a once every 100 years type of season Virginia Tech, A&M, and Oklahoma State all had winning records that year. I agree that KU was overrated but they did actual have a pretty decent team that year.
  3. Oklahoma has already said it happen cause they don't wanna play both us and Texas every year. I'm in for preserving the KU game, isn't it one of the longest continuous rivalries west of the Mississippi? Besides when the b12 breaks up they could very well join us in the b10, so maybe Wed only have to preserve it for a few years, probably til 2016 which actually might b pretty hard, but I say if we can do it-do it. Oklahoma usually has a tough non-conference schedule so I don't know why they wouldn't want to play us.
  4. 1. Suh -The guy was our MVP last year. 2. Dillard -A very solid LB and I really don't know who we can replace him with. 3. O'Hanlon -Very good open field tackler who also had a nose for the football. 4. Asante -A solid safety. Didn't make many mistakes and could also lay a hit. 5. Turner -A good defensive end that was a nice compliment to the best defensive line in the country.
  5. Yeah I'd like a non-conference schedule with KU and Mizzou. I also like Oklahoma as a non-conference game.
  6. I like and agree with the move and am looking forward to joining the Big Ten but I'll still miss some of our Big 12 opponents.
  7. I don't know why they should even bother to reprimand him. Everyone knows that what he says is true and the Big 12 will be gone in a few years.
  8. It looks like we have a bit of a problem with our abbreviation NU. Northwestern also has the same abbreviation and I wondered what everyone thinks we should do about it. Should we change or should Northwestern change and if we change what should we change it to?
  9. The guy hasn't started a game and they are already declaring him the best player in the Big 12? They also way underrated Crick and Amukamara
  10. I think it's pretty safe to assume Lee will be our starter. I'd be pretty surprised if he wasn't.
  11. Wow. Really? You are freakin brilliant. Please look up the meaning of "statistics" because you obviously have no clue. I was going to respond further, taking advanced classes in statistics myself, but the post below sums everything up nicely. statistics for the geniuses out there are numbers from the past. how many yards rushing did player X get, team x get, etc. even those are flawed, because they don't account for home field, weather, turnovers, injuries or strength of opponents. using them to predict future events, especially years out, when players, coaches, schedules, injuries and countless other unknowns can't possibly be factored in is.... <sarcasm> BRILLIANT!! CARRY ON! </sarcasm> tell ya what... please provide the AP top ten as they will finish in 2010. when ya crunch those numbers, please provide the AP top ten as they will finish in 2011 and 2012. let's see how accurately the OPs spreadsheets are. predict (perdict) away. if laughing at something as preposterous as trying to predict how teams will fare in the future using stats ... is trolling you folks need some help. I agree that numbers can't predict games and I wish the BCS could comprehend that. But numbers can give us predictions and a general idea on what may happen. College football is filled with numbers we analyze all the time such as rankings, yards, strength of schedule, and etc. So although numbers can't predict actual results they can give us general ideas and all this thread was saying is that a team that has been good since 2000 is less likely to be as good the next ten years as a team that has been good from 1975-1999.
  12. Nice addition. Hopefully he's the next Henery.
  13. I agree. I don't know how Nebraska beating Ohio State would be a bad thing. The Big Ten would get a ton of good publicity from an Ohio State-Nebraska NCG and if Nebraska won, it would just show they are getting a Nebraska that is truly back.
  14. I agree. I like the shirt but it needs to be red for me to wear it.
  15. I remember going to a KSU game in 05 where it got really loud after we hit a 40 yard field goal.
  16. I don't think we should be arguing about this. Some split National Championships have one team that appeared to be better than the other but with this one I think we would have had to play to know who was better.
  17. I don't think there's a limit on how far back you can brag. Recent stuff is more relevant to brag about but you should be able to brag about having multiple National Titles even if some of them were in the 1940's.
  18. I don't know why we would move him to DB when we have good depth at DB and not great depth at WR. If he fits better as a DB I guess that's ok but I don't want another Mendoza that we keep switching positions on and they never make the field.
  19. I agree. I'd like to play Penn State every year but just throwing geography out of the equation doesn't make sense. Right now I'd say the West would be slightly better than the East so I don't think there's a huge difference competitively.
  20. I love how NU is included in the toss up column and Iowa is listed as a probable loss, yet most preseason polls to date have NU ahead of Iowa. don't you know? if you beat a team the previous year, it is a guaranteed win? but if you lose to a team the previous year, it is at best a toss-up? that is why ISU will definitely beat us and I have them as a toss-up on my schedule. If that's the case KU and KSU should be toss ups or losses on their schedule since they lost both of those games last year.
  21. I think a better O-Line would benefit Helu more than Burkhead. Burkhead is more of a straight ahead runner so he is better at getting something out of nothing but Helu is a more shifty back so if you can give him some room to operate he can put some moves on people.
  22. I think an undefeated Texas or OU would get in over a one loss team. As long as their are at least a few decent teams in the Big 12-2 they should still get in.
  23. A 6-6 season is pretty unrealistic for them but 9-3? They would have to have multiple games where their opponent had 8 turnovers.
