  1. In a perfect world - yes you pick one guy to be your starter from week 1 because they have separated themselves in practice and scrimmages. However, some guys are just better in games and you don't really know how they will react until presented with that situation. As to you the last paragraph - if you do that you (potentially) set yourself up for 2nd guessing yourself. What happens if the starter plays just ok but because of the run game, special teams and D you are up by a lot and the 2nd stringer comes in a lights the world on fire (likely against the other teams 2nd team as well).
  2. I know Frost has said he will name a starter 1 week before the opener ... but if it really is that close I could see (or wouldn't mind to see) Frost change course a bit and really see him splitting time in the first game and using that in the evaluation as to who will be the starter for week 2 and rest of the season.
  3. Yeah - I read the same thing in the LJS - Husker Extra.
  4. If you got a 30 on the ACT there likely would be a free education in it for you at some University or College...
  5. Yes he has - and I will admit I disagreed with him at the time (damn kool-aide). I will actually look forward to his commentary on this years squad.
  6. Awesome pick up. Hopefully we can hold off Auburn and Georgia if they make a late push. Anyone know if he plans to sign in December or January?
  7. Kinda funny as to how far behind ESPN is - I just checked his profile on ESPN and it doesn't even show an offer from Nebraska even though we are in his top 3 and his profile was supposedly updated on July 10, 2018.
  8. Pump the brakes a bit - I don’t think we are ranked after going 3-0 and a win over Mich probably gets us into the top 20 but definitely not the top 10 with the amount of teams ahead of us to start with.
  9. Yeah, Bo's allure has come and gone and in today's culture his temper makes him not a good fit at a major university. If he could temper it down a bit, about the only place Bo would be a fit is in the BIG XII as I think he could be mildly successful with his Peso defense.
  10. I'm good with it. Kids like it and doesn't really change any outstanding traditions.
  11. Although I wasn't overly impressed with him at the spring game I tend to agree. However, trying to split reps 4 ways (as I believe they will give Bunch a shot) in fall camp will be tough.
  12. I did a little more looking into this and my question above as well. It looks like if he can show a hardship and prove he faced extenuating circumstances that prevented him from completing required core classes he can get a waiver to be immediately eligible. It looks like that is unlikely but he still has to show hardship to be granted the academic red-shirt which is more likely. Again, I could be wrong but that's what it looks like it's coming down to.
  13. If I'm reading this right, we essentially knew all along he would not be eligible this year. We were just hoping/fighting for him to make it as an academic redshirt?
  14. Completely agree. Under Watson, Beck and Langs we had no identity. We finally have a system where plays build off of plays. We also finally have an offense that has an answer for ways different defenses may try to attack, which is built into the offense. We also finally have a play caller that knows how to make in-game adjustments within that offense. Other coaches speak very highly of Frost and his offense for having an answer to everything and on this issue. I think there was a comment from Durkin at Maryland to the effect of we would mix it up and Frost would have an answer.
  15. I would bet he has most if not all the important rings insured. I understand the possible sentiment but should be able to get them replaced. I'm sure Josten's will be able to hook him up.
  16. If Duval can put that much weight on Farmer and he keeps his mobility, color me as impressed!!
  17. Such a drastic improvement and uptick in getting highly rated qbs who also fit the system. Three 4-star Qbs to fill 3 different classes (17, 18, and 19) over an 8 month stretch of recruiting is impressive.
  18. I think its important to remember the goal of the committee is to find THE best team and not the top 4 best teams or top 8 best teams. If after 12-13 games its not clear if you are in the top 4 then you surely aren't the TOP team.
  19. I think he will see about 15-20 reps per game and be used to spell Stolt and Khalil Davis. So hopefully health won't be an issue.
  20. We couldn't be luckier to have this man leading our program! Dude had me jacked over lunch and ready for the season to begin!
  21. Yeah, last I info I read was that he thought the staff was looking at him at OLB as well - so I thought I may have missed something. Thanks for the info and all your updates.
