Based on the numbers, is it possible we don't send Mapieu a NLI and agree that if he goes JUCO he will have spot in a year or 2? Pure speculation on my part but I don't see how the numbers add up if we can only sign 3 more guys and we want 4 --> Bell, Jones, JBB/Tanner, and Washington. I guess if we strikeout with JBB and Tanner we have Mapieu as a backup plan.

Changing to Tanner. Incredible burst and pass rushing skills against very good competition. Could be an instant contributor/upgrade on the edge.

If a kid doesn’t come in work, per this scenario, he won’t last long. Running/early workouts will weed that player out. If he doesn’t show or put forth effort can be kicked off team for violation of team rules.

I really don't like this. I think players should be be given more freedom (and allowed to play immediately) if the head coach leaves/is fired or school is placed on a bowl ban. However, we are going to see top programs poaching players with the auspice of championships and playing time - which will lead to even more deception than the recruiting process as is.

I actually don't think we will want him signing a NLI with us as it would count towards our over-signing limit of 3. If your "unofficial commit" means that he doesn't sign but elects to go to IWCC with the understanding he will have a committable offer in a year or 2 - I agree with you.

I actually think it shows a lot of class. Based on the number crunching it looks like Rogers may have taken Carson's spot - I could be wrong as no one really knows the # or what the staff is planning but a stand up move by Carson. Wish we had more sports to bring Carson on board.

You hit on a very good point, as does Mav with his posting of the prior tweet. A lot of inaccuracies and misreporting occurs at the high school level on 40 times. The 40 time still has value but needs to be cross-referenced with tape. Miles tape against strong competition should tell ya a few things.

I think Farniok will stay at tackle. Also, is the plan for Walker (2017 class) to stay at OT (haven't really heard at where he projects after his RS season)? Based on his measurables Bell could easily slide out to tackle. All in all, I do agree there appears to be a need at OT more so than on the inside. I'm thinking the staff feels Bell is a can't miss guy that they will make room for.

Completely agree. However, I think we are in a much better position to recruit these type of running backs in the future with the current staff as opposed to the previous.

A lot will depend on if we have a QB who is ready to run Frost’s offense. If so, we are not that far off. We hung with Wisc for 3 quarters. I think we will see a stark improvement in accountability and conditioning which will have use competing for the West very soon. We addressed some major holes on defense with JUCOs (really needed a LB who can fill holes and sniff out the ball and a S who is a ball hawk and we got both). We also picked up a stud RB and a playmaker in the slot from the JUCO ranks. Biggest question mark we have will be O-line. If we see improvement on the Oline and if we have a QB who is READY to run Frost’s offense we should compete for the West in year 1.

Agreed. Williams looks to be a great fit for Frost system and has speed for days. Should be a strong slot receiver addition.

Simply don’t understand this move. He’s not a top 4 round talent. After watching and knowing what frost did at UCF and observing the excitement UCF plays with it is astonishing to me that any current player wouldn’t buy into Frost’s culture or want a year in it...
