I don't believe either of the Williams had connections to Riley prior to joining his staff here. I would like to see both Williams and Parella retained - but will understand if the new coach wants to bring in his guys as well.

Agreed. I think this is just another example of the mis-management of the roster by the staff. Another is that we are essentially playing this year with approximately 75 scholarship athletes.

Should frost come back the similarities off the top of my head are that both were elite former qbs that go back to their all matter after a brief stint as a head coach at a non- traditional power (Duke and UCF) whose offenses either lead the nation or towards the very top that are also innovative offensives in what are thought to be run dominant leagues... ur right not a good analogy.

I'm stating in many convos that I hope we lose enough for Riley to be gone - but I know come game day I will be rooting hard as hell (as I always do) for us to win.

I like the use of a search firm to develop an initial list of candidates and a finalist list of candidates for the AD and Administration to use. It also allows the AD/Admin/School to save face when high profile coaches turn down interest by plausible deniability of the school. However, as others have said, I think the ultimate decision must come down to the AD.

Exactly. If we go through some growing pains I would rather do it with a coach in his 30s or 40s than with a coach who in is 60s.

Based on everything I’ve heard from Moos mouth it sounds like Kelly wouldn’t be a good fit due to ethical/recruiting violation issues. Also, sounds like Riley won’t be fired during the season and an evaluation will occur at seasons end.

I want one of the media members to have the ballz to ask whether he has considered stepping down due to the effort and performance of this team or ask what he has to say to the speculation that he is gone after the season

A young, up and coming coach at a power 5 conference who is familiar with mid-west recruiting and getting every oz out of his players? If our fan base would riot after being shot down by Frost and other "headliners" maybe we deserve the 20 years of crap we've been dealt.

Agree with your list and analysis. I would add Matt Campbell at Iowa State. He's done a heck of a job in my opinion. I'd have him at around no. 3 or 4 on my board of persons to call/interview.

Yeah it has been relatively quiet except for the Del Conte rumor. I haven't heard of any interviews or requests for interviews which leads me to believe we are still a ways off from a hire. Perhaps the committee/search firm is still gathering names and running checks/references on its candidates but I would have thought the media would have caught wind of some of this.
