  1. I wouldn't call it a trap game, but consistency has been somewhat of a problem in recent years.
  2. Whether or not he plays, or should play, will depend on the condition of his knee. Doesn't sound like anyone knows what that is. Chances he plays are about tree fitty.
  3. pass whatever your smoking this way..... He is not the recruiter Cally was, and he inherited a decent amount of talent (look at all the NFL picks over the last 4 years). No matter if you support Bo or not, lets atleast be honest about it. Not to mention that half of the players cally got never saw the field. Recruiting and developing are 2 different subjects. I think Bo and his staff can do both. Not to mention Bo wins 9 or 10 games every year while half the time Clownahan would win 5 or 6 games.... or that in his first four years he'll win 10 games twice (even with taking over a hopelessly shipwrecked program).and possibly three times while Clownahan won 10 games zero times. But of course recruiting stars are vastly more important than results on the field. pass whatever your smoking this way..... Can you people be any more dull? Those "stars" that you mock Callahan for are what Bo has been working with his first three years here. Which was a lot, if Bo took over in 2003, he wouldn't have made a bowl game either with that "talent" that the drunken midget left NU. Hell TO wouldn't have been able to win 6 games with Joe Dailey as your only scholarship QB and three defensive lineman on the team. I think it's so funny how all of these excuses are given for Bo "needing time to build a program" and is allowed to go through assistant changes just about every year while Callahan was ran out of town without being given the chance to hire a new DC.
  4. Why would anyone say anything other than the highest ranked team with the fewest losses? In other words, the best possible opponent. This means Wisconsin or Penn State with two losses. This answer means that if Nebraska would win the championship game it would have the highest BCS rank possible and therefore the best chance of playing the best possible opponent in a BCS bowl.
  5. Its clear Arkansas is getting a free pass because they play in SEC. Good news they still have to play LSU. Teams in the top 10 that still have to play one another. Oregon/Stanford Okie Lite/OU LSU/Alabama LSU/Arkansas South Carolina/Arkansas the next month could get real interseting. another perspective could be that the Huskers do not play anymore top ten teams. probably not even in the B1G championship game. that kind of sucks and will not be helpful to end of regular season ranking. maybe they can pull a decent bowl opponent.
  6. lol fun topic. I'll go a little old school. football- 9th grade played against sammy sims. i played on the o-line. sammy intercepted a pass. he came at me and me at him, only he had a full head of steam. that was as hard as i have ever been it. knocked me silly. he was constantly hitting on my gf in college. we've been married 30 years now. played with Scott Woodard in jr high. basketball- 9th grade played against junior miller. put up 19 on him and held him to a lot less. played with woodard in high school and played against mike mcgee. no he's not a husker but he was mike mcgee. college intramural basketball - played against a team of football players. lol they kicked our ass ... while stoned. hey it was the 70's.
  7. This statement says much more about you than it does about Creighton. Creighton Law School, Class of 1985 Has it been your experience that people generally know that Creighton exists, outside of basketball conversations? I can tell you that I've traveled across this country and when I tell folks I'm from Nebraska, Creighton never, ever comes up in conversation. It's just a small school. It's unsurprising that it's not as well-known as UNL. Heck, my dad graduated from Midland. I bet 95% of the people posting here have no idea where Midland is, or that it even exists. That is not my experience at all. Creighton has a student body made up of people from all over the country. It is one of the top Jesuit Universities in the country, like Boston College, Georgetown, Gonzaga, St. Louis, Fordham, Marquette, etc. I guess if one is more sports oriented, basketball may be the source of reference for colleges and universities, but education wise, Creighton has a wonderful national reputation. Many people I talk with know where and what Creighton is. I agree that it is not as well known as UNL, but that is completely different than nobody outside of eastern Nebraska knowing about Creighton even allowing for some exaggeration. Or maybe I hang around too many Catholics. btw, Creighton's men's soccer team is ranked 4th in the nation. I'll take off my Creighton sensitivity hat now, after all this is a Husker football forum

  9. Too many people are placing way too much emphasis on Wisconsin's schedule. They played weak teams. They rolled over weak teams. What does that tell you? That tells me they rolled over weak teams. That's what good teams do. They look strong, consistent and fundamentally sound on offense and defense. On the other hand, even allowing for some built in favorable bias toward the Huskers, I am concerned about the consistency, on offense and defense. They can look outstanding on one drive and horrible on the next two. Tackling is my personal defensive barometer since it should be the one thing which should not be subject to variance and this team worries me on that front. On offense, nothing is more frustrating than watching T-Mart miss wide open receivers. T-Mart hitting open guys and tackling will be the keys to the game. These are just a couple thoughts that create cause for concern Saturday. Nebraska has the speed, strength and the talent to roll over Wisconsin, the question is whether or not we will see them at close to full potential. I hope so.
  10. It early opened at 7 and the sharps immediately pushed it up to 9.5. The smart money is saying they like Wisconsin. I doubt it will be coming down. Not sure where people are getting the idea it opened at 10 and is now coming down. Obviously it may have varied a little at the open, but not 9.5 or 10. http://www.vegasinsider.com/college-football/odds/las-vegas/?s=1995
  11. Lines are set based on projected outcome and projected betting. Except in rare cases, the lines are set to get balanced action. The line typically moves based on the fact that actual betting is different than the expected betting. The lines can be taken down because of uncertainty surrounding injuries, especially to quarterbacks. In this game the injury situation with Martinez, Lee and Murray is enough to affect this. The likely explanation for the line shift in this game is that many bettors believe in the conspiracy, not "Vegas". Therefore more money than anticipated is being placed on OU, thus driving the line upward from where it started, making a bet on NU more attractive. This is an attempt by "Vegas" to get more money on NU. To be clear, when we say Vegas we are speaking of the guys in the back rooms who set the lines for the sportsbooks, right?
