  1. Nothing like fading into oblivion out in Hawaii. Better hope they make him a WR as I don't believe TE is in their vocabulary. Again if family being close and being able to see him play means anything to the kid this is a no brainer. Still waiting on how hard UNC gets slapped by the NCAA for their "lack of institutional control" this last year. Of course if the players say it was their dads that did it and they knew "nothing" I guess the NCAA turns a deaf ear to the whole thing.
  2. First SJB, he has a long ways to go on the mental part from most reports as well as blocking. I hope he can get it together through spring and then this summer. He could help, but remember Tyrell Spain also "killed it" in practices and look how far that got him. Quincy could be the second coming of Niles Paul. By that I mean he SHOULD have redshirted this year. Would the coaches have known early in the year that he would play a lot less than they anticipated? No, but as fans we have seen the benefits of learning all nuances of this offense in a redshirt year. As for better balls, this could have been said about each and every receiver.
  3. Not a chance. The way he dogged them after "decommitting" and then went running back tail between his legs and acts like nothing was wrong, screams attitude issues. Also have heard that he has a little classroom work to do as well, thus me thinks there are some commitment issues. Been a Bryant fan, and he is number one on the coaches board. This can almost eliminate the Gators in the Wayne Lyons sweepstakes in my eyes.
  4. Was led to believe that the mighty Chattanooga Mocs of FCS fame was filling the slot for 2011
  5. His older brother Don was a hell of a receiver for the Buffalo Bills and had that great play in the Super Bowl. What!?! Wrong Dan Beebe!?! This isn't a thread about former Chadron State College basketball player and then head coach? Whoops, my bad. Dan Beebe making ugly fat girls go lez since conception.
  6. Ding Dong the Stache is dead. Pitt cans the Stache, they have got to have someone. Hey Pennsylvania is a fertile recruiting ground, and the Big X is right next door. Who they got?
  7. I'd have to check the film or someone else can, to see if Niklas is kicking off the ground or off the box that most high schoolers do. It is easy to say 40 is easy off a bok, it is kicking off the turf where alot of high school kickers struggle with.
  8. Not suprised by any of this. Arkansas was his other final choice so of course they would try to make one last push at the kid. Don't like the snakes from Norman slithering around. Stoops could probably talk a nun into a one night stand. And they have the added ammo of the game last Saturday. However, I believe NU has the ace that trumps all, and that is David Santos. Pap, Beck, and Ronnie will keep this kid.
  9. It was ONLY 2628 and 37 TDs in the regular season. Throw in what he did to Wyoming in the bowl(222 and 5 TDs) and it swells to 2850 and 42 scores. Can you say video game. I didn't say Barry because I was trying to keep this in the Husker family. That is a record I honestly don't see going down anytime soon. Oh yeah he also topped 300 yards four times that year. And there is something about the 33 NCAA records he broke that year. The man was a freak and we chose Johnny Rodgers kid over him. Charlie McBride still kicks himself for not fighting harder on this one.
  10. Am I the only one here that believed that they should've beaten CU this year? Looking at what each team had coming back and add in the new coach in blue burd land, I am actually slightly disappointed the game was this close, especially being a home game.

  12. In my mind the more telling stat that a listener emailed in was Wats' offense versus teams ranked in the top 25 defenses(scoring and yards I think it was) the last two years. I believe that was Va Tech, Texas, Texas, Mizzou and Boomer. The numbers were ridiculous, but the one that stood out to me was that in those games NU has averaged ONLY 5 points in the second half. And if you take away Roy Helu's four scores and Kyler's two the only other person to score on offense was........Alex Henery
  13. Yep, bowl games count towards season stats. It is actually how Nevada did it last year cause 1000 yard rusher #3 topped it in their bowl game. It is also why David will become the season tackle holder with four tackles against Washington. This is true..... I believe it was in 90's that it wasnt counted toward season stats, I could be wrong. But i will blame it on me being youngin. Back then most teams only had 11 games on personal stats because the bowl game didnt count toward the season total. Which makes Mike Rozier's Heisman stat line that much more amazing.
  14. "Go F#@K Yourself San Diego" right above a big ole picture of a Ron Burgandey outline with Dan Beebe's face My Other T Shirt is Considered Threatning in Texas Ben Cotton Lost a Nut for This?

  16. When playing against teams with the defensive speed and skill that Boomer had(ie see also Texas) Wats failed to realize the best way to attack those teams is right at them. Yes against Boomer there was some success to the outside, but their defense(much also like ours) loves seeing teams run east/west against them. Think about the teams that ran pretty roughshed on the Blackshirts this year, they went right at the tackles usually doubling Crick and attacking NU's smaller LBs. This is where I think Wats missed the bus. Against both Boomer and Texas he needed to use their front seven's speed against them. You do this by going right at them(a fullback is helpful, cmon some one +1 me for that reference) and also by using their speed against themselves with a sprinkling of draws, screens and shovel(or shuffle for the morons that think that is what it is called)passes. Remember BJax gashing Texes in the snow on the shovel? Little plays like these here and there last Saturday probably helps the offense and at the same time slows up Boomer's front four from pinning their ears back looking forward to decapitating Taylor(literally did once). As far as the Callahan theory. For as big of a POS he was as a coach, he was one hell of an OLine coach. Read the article in Sports Illustrated a couple of weeks ago on the Jets and him, it is quite good. Barney has enough trouble teaching the big uglies upfront, I believe trying to teach good screen/shovel blocking would be over the top for the guy.
  17. Defensively with a 3rd and 24 you wouldn't blitz, because you want that extra defender in the secondary. The non blitz was a good call, a DLine stunt or twist could have been helpful, but I fully agree on not blitzing on that play.. The bigger factor on the play like I, and many others have stated, is the seven yards Prince gave up trying to strip the ball. Those seven yards gave Stoops every reason to go for it on fourth instead of punting, if the tackle was made upon the reception.
  18. Well the writing has beenon the wall with the results of tonights game on where the participants probably would end up with the results. So Pheonix it probably is, so Husker fans who do you want? Michigan or Iowa? Either way I am good, but a Hawkeye reality check is always great to observe.
  19. Sorry but can you honestly fault the guy? This was the biggest play in the second half. He makes valid points. Maybe bringing pressure isn't the key of the drive, but Prince going on the seven yard piggyback ride trying to strip the ball may be. Again don't bash the guy for a question, because like I said it was once of the pivotal plays of the game for Booomer. And obviously it led to the points for their victory.
  20. My biggest beef I guess is the role of Taylor in the offense tonight. It was blatently obvious early that he wasn't going to try to run. He had opportunities and instead of keeping the balls like he did earlier in the year he gave for minimum success. He had numerous opportunities to run the ball while scrambling, yet he didnt. What we saw tonight was Taylor attmepting to "manage" the offense. Much like CG in the ISU and CU games. And to this Taylor failed badly at times. Taylor was never a threat in this game. Those that diagree watch it again and tell me that Boomer wasn't daring him to beat them. Taylor tried to be a manager of the offnse, and again it was obvious that Rex is the only person we played tonight that I would trust to be in that position.
  21. My three biggest bones against Taylor are the same that have been kicking at me since October. 1. He is not secure with the ball. Taylor doesn't even take a solid shot and the ball is on the ground. His ball security straight up sucks. Tonight prime example, when he was getting pressureed the ball was is one hand dangling away from his body waist high waiting to get knocked away. Sorry, but this went on all year. 2. He locks onto his primary receiver. Since the opening game this was obvious. And when NU faced defenses good enough to figure this out and took option A away he paniced. There were a lot of occassions tonight where Taylor had time but would not look off his primary receive. 3, He is not a good passer. This was brought up by other schools when he was in HS. And tonight he proved it. Many a times Taylor had time in the pocket and delivered the ball a yard or two behind his receiver. The third down play to Kinnie(in the third quarter I believe) where Brandon was all alone and yet the ball was thrown five feet behind him, is the one that really stands out. But all night long it was the case. Passes thrown behind receivers. Hell even the last passwas behind Kinnie(which is a different thread, because the whole stadium knew what was coming on that down). Like I said, what did Taylor do that was impressive? Nothing, could Cody have done otherwise, who knows. The only thing I am certain is that Cody probably doesn't throw the pick in the endzone before the half. Definite momentum killer.
  22. So tonight, what exactly did Taylor do that a healthy Cody Green could not have done? The only thing that comes to my mind is get sacked over and over again. Other than the Okie State game, Taylor's pocket presense has straight up sucked, and tonight it completely bit NU in the ass. He locks on to receivers all year long and the pick in the endzone was one of the worst decisions I have seen since Pedy, hired the jack ass from the Raiders. I am sorry, I have been a Cody guy since last October, was slightly wooed by Taylor's early running exhibitions, but tonight I clearly believe Cody WOULD have put us in better positions to win. Discuss and ridicule.........
  23. just kick it off now!!! I am ready for this

  24. WHEW, that was a cover..............barely. Next time maybe going nuts isn't the best course of action.
  25. I know earlier this year his football coach said if he wasn't so known as a football/baseball prospect for so long, D-1 b-ball coaches would be beating down his door. Said he had 40 some dunks last season or some number that is pretty crazy for a high schooler. The kid has skillz. Yes good enough he gets a z after skill not an s.
