  1. Sipple comes off to me as a 17 year old girl writing stories about her boyfriend in the high school newspaper.
  2. I've seen several 'Blogs' point to the marketing of the program. The simple fact of the matter is, countless recruits talk about the stadium atmosphere and experience when they commit. Marketing the the product is winning games, not laser light shows and smoke. There are 60K at the Spring game. I'm nervous if Bo is indeed gone. Feels like Solich all over again. When you make as many mistakes as he did in the beginning (PR, Recruiting, Coaching Hires, 2 RS Freshman QB - 3 if you count Green), you're going to struggle. Struggle for years in fact. I'm still not convinced that they are not getting better. That being said, I'm not convinced the are not getting worse either.
  3. Didn't even come to the board after the loss Saturday (usually do). I saw progress this week and didn't feel the need to vent. The one event during the game against Sparty that really changed my outlook was when Randy Gregory was patroling the bench trying to get more out of his teammates. I still think this is what is lacking in the program. The fact that I saw this made me feel better. Bunch of people hurt and a lot of immature mistakes. Still almost won the game.
  4. Scroll down to the bottom. Stew is 69% this year picking games. That's picking winners, not lines. He was 57% last week. Thanks for the locks Stew.
  5. Best defense in the country - watch out! Western Michigan - 110th in Total Offense South Florida - 121st in Total Offense Youngstown State - why even look Notre Dame - 68th in Total Offense Iowa - 76th in Total Offense Indiana - 8th in Total Offense (Put up 28 points). I happen to believe Indiana's offensive stats are a bit misleading as well. (basically, they aren't 8th) Purdue - 120th in Total Offense Illinois - 56th in Total Offense Michigan - 83rd in Total Offense Nebraska - 43rd....??????? I'm sick of hearing how great this defense is. All these clowns are salivating about this 'D'. I'm excited for this game because Bo has owned Sparty. Side note....Michigan State is 86th in total offense (I'm sure their inter squad scrimmages are low scoring).
  6. Based upon the fact that we have had to watch 2 years of punt return nightmares (drops, fumbles, downed inside the 5), I'll take Westy right now. It does represent progress over the last couple of years. Field position is so important and they used to just give it away on punt return. That being said, I'm with EZ, I don't understand why we don't go after one when Westy is going to fair catch it anyway.
  7. Is there a Cliff Notes version of this Moby Dick OP?
  8. Another targeting garbage call. Gamechanger.

  9. Using NW as a gauge is a mistake. The hail mary has served as Kool-Aide for some. Let's examine some facts. NW averaged 5.2 yards per carry. NW is the 74th ranked offense in NCAA (399 YPG). They were held to 326 against the huskers. Treyvon Green in the #3 TB and he didn't even make it through the entire game. Averaged 4.8 yards per play Positive Stats 8-21 passing by NW. 2-14 on third down. Northwestern couldn't convert on passing opportunities in this game.
  10. Is this necessary? Wouldn't bother me if this thread was deleted.
  11. Looks like #44 is penetrating the offensive line. This must be a source of frustration for #77. If Michigan is frustrated by D Line penetration, I imagine they will be able to keep their emotions in check against the Huskers.
  12. Also, dont forget about the O-Lines inability to stop 3 pass rushers several times on the final drive. The Huskers may have settled on the game tying field goal instead of a desperation hail mary win.
  13. You do realize that the Blackshirts only gave up 161 yards after the 1st QTR right? Northwestern only scored 10 points after the 1st QTR and those points were gained after costly turnovers and short fields. . . . sure. And Northwestern only scored 10 points in four quarters plus overtime against mighty Iowa. Just to throw a little more gas on the fire.............. Indiana almost beat Minny
  14. That message boards, facebook and the interwebs are gushing over one play that saved this program from anothet horrid loss. Northwestern has no conference wins and no RBS. It wasnt a great or classic game. Be honest...it was another lousy game. It was one amazing play.
  15. People are confusing coaching experience and leadership. this program needs leadership. lots of people know football.
  16. This article 20 times better than the ' tunnel walk of shame' article everyone is raving about.
