  1. The only concern with the offense right now is turnovers. Our defense is capable but cannot be given a short field to defend like the last couple of years.
  2. Every single one of those schools has been on probation. Well LSU will be to be technical. I would much, much rather have a slow rise then to deal with violations and forfieting games/championships.
  3. I guarantee within two weeks Bo would have killed him and ate his liver. Two totally different worlds those two come from. Bo all the way!
  4. Good point. I guess we'll see what happens. Maybe all of this will put a chip on Taylor's shoulder and he will play like we know he is capable of. I just wish our Defense was playing better so the Offense could afford to make mistakes.
  5. I wonder if Husker fans don't go over the top sometimes, railing on a player who is struggling on the field. After all, Taylor is a just some 20 year old junior in college. A regular guy with a girlfriend and a family. Who happens to be a great athlete. I'll give him this. He has shown more poise than I would if someone was bothering my girlfriend in school. I would have been involved in an incident that probably would get me suspended.
  6. I remember when Turner Gill was a freshmen/sophomore on the bench and the crowd turned on Osborne to get Gill in. They started chanting "We Want Gill." It may be time for the crowd to turn on Pelini and get Carnes in the game.
  7. Brion isn't the better individual player, but may be healthier for the team right now. With Martinez in the game, Beck and Bo can't see past his "Big-Play" ability. The first quarter of the game last week, they were taking what Wisconsin's D was giving them, and moving the ball with a pretty good balance. But in the 2Q, they got impatient and started looking for the "Big Play." I think having Brion in the game would hand cuff their playcalling and force the issues of ball control and game management into the coach's heads. We would also rely on our other skill positions to make the plays instead of the QB. There really isn't a better time than now to try a switch with a tOSU team with even more problems than we have in town and a bye week followed by Minnesota, who is one of the worst teams in the country right now. Okay I'm off of my soapbox now.
  8. Bo really stressed the fundamentals in yesterday's presser and I expect this will be a major point of emphasis all week in practice. However, we have guys playing way out of position on D and there needs to movement on that front as well.
  9. Call me crazy, but I love the "Stark Raving Lunatic" side of Bo.
  10. There's a difference between critiquing play on the field, and character assassination. Good Point and I agree. But Taylor has to help himself out a little bit there. Even if you just sling some cliche's around in the presser like Bo tends to do. I understand if He didn't want to participate in that press conference, but like it or not he represents the University and he can keep that attitude in the locker room next time. And you know, that goes for all players not just Martinez.
  11. Martinez's attitude in that presser sucked! He didn't do himself any favors with the media. If you don't want to talk to them that's fine, but that kind of crap has no place in a press conference. And that's not an attack on Martinez personally, I would hold any player accountable for that kind of attitude.
  12. Agreed totally. I Don't think we have played any of the same DB's in the same position for more than 2 games. Athleticism is there but mental aspect is lacking but, given another game or two we will see I guess. After listening to Bo's presser today he sounds like he has thought about the Stafford switch.
  13. What I would like to see. D-Line - I would still Rotate heavily with any setup. DE - Crick - Move him out for more 1 on 1 situations. DT - T. Moore - Guy plays well when in there and good size. DT - Randle - Has a serious chip on his shoulder what Steinkuhler lacks. DE - Carter - Playing better than Ankrah. Backers - Here's where its interesting. OLB - David - The one consistency we have we dont toy with. MLB - Meredith - Good Size and athleticism. Only question mark would be play recognition and pass coverage. I wouldn't mind trying him out here. OLB - Stafford - Undersized a bit but makes up for it with a nose for the ball. Has been great against the run game so move him here. Secondary - Oh god. CB - Dennard - The best DB we have we leave alone. FS - C. Osborne - Played pretty well at this position last year. Don't know what he did to piss Bo off tho. SS - Jackson/Cassidy/Smith - I would rotate this out until someone steps up cuz I honestly don't know which poison to pick here. CB - Cooper - Great size and athleticism, but lacking the mental aspect. However, everyone else lacks the mental aspect so play the best athlete and hope he is a quick learner.
  14. So he needs a perfect situation in every game to be successful. Sorry but if he is so athletic then he can overcome some bad playcalling, kind of like other mobile QB's. They playcalling was bad from the 2Q on, but if the play is in the playbook then he should be able to handle it by now. Taylor is not improving and all people are asking for is a QB that will. Maybe Brion, RK3, or Turner won't be any better, but it's time for Bo to find out. Also maybe putting Taylor into a competition will make him sink or swim.
  15. Well either that or let the T-Tragic T-Train Wreck continue. Seriously how bad does a guy have to play to get benched?
  16. Why don't we wear *actual* field turf. Just sew chunks of it right onto the uniforms. Cloaks of invisibility. I may have said too much.
  17. I would take Price over Martinez, but he is the only one. I also think Washington is alot better team with Price than they were with Locker.
  18. It was BS. From Dennard's point of view there was no right play. It was either let the WR go and make a huge catch or stick him. I'll take the latter from him everytime.
  19. Yea my cousin is getting married in central Nebraska. We rented a projector and one of those inflatable big screens though. Otherwise I would be going. I really want to Jump Around. Rep the 402 well guys.
  20. Bingo. This has been a source of our problems, P*** Poor Attitude. You could tell it sent the wrong message to the team last night. Alot of the players were really upset. I hope Jones gets a chance at redemption he deserved that score more than anybody else. Bo should let him rotate in for Burkhead in the next couple of games and let him have his dues.
  21. +1 The standard for the QB position needs to be higher. Defenses can take away his big play ability by putting a constant spy on him, because he is not going to break the tackle. I have never seen a starting QB at any level (High School, College, or Pro) be allowed to throw with their front foot paralell to the line of scrimmage, then gangsta lean back and shotput a rainbow up for grabs.
  22. Today, he is our QB and I guess that's all that really matters. So lets hope he tears Wyoming apart.
  23. +1 I swear sometimes I think if Husker fans were half as worried about the way we played on the field as they were about the way the team looked while doing it, we would be ranked no. 1. Black, Blue, Red, Green, Orange don't care as long as we win.
  24. After reading through everything that was said, I know I underestimate him, but come on guys. Heisman Candidate? lol put down the kool-aid.
  25. Who's your guy to replace Martinez? This year? Nobody he's our guy for better or worse. Going forward I would like to see Bo pound the JUCO's for a guy that can bridge between now and getting Armstrong or Fuller ready.
