  1. Grammatical errors don't usually bother me that much. It's not my fault if someone can't spell a simple word like "losers".
  2. That was a very good story. It is stories like these that makes us realize all of the things in life that we take for granted sometimes. The things this kid is accomplishing considering the conditions he is under is absolutely unbelievable and outstanding.
  3. Best decision made this year for bball_backer: decide to stay home for this game, hide all the alcohol and expect an NU loss. Sure it made for an extremely gay Saturday night, but at least I know I will wake up tomorrow... I'm off to bed, where I'll fall asleep rewatching the Mizzou football game. Oh who am I kidding... I hid the damn booze myself so I know where to find it. I'm home alone tonight, so if one of you guys could slip over later tonight just make sure I'm not drowning in my own vomit I'd appreciate it. Nooooooo, that is exactly what the Nebrasketball team wants. Don't fall into their trap.
  4. We should be able to beat Oklahoma State in the first game. But then again, we should've beat KSU....and Colorado....and Texas Tech....and Iowa State....and I'm getting tired of listing all the teams we should've beat this year but failed.
  5. We are not totally out of the picture. I'm liking our chances this year in the conference tournament. We play soooooo good when the pressure is all on us.

      holy sarcasm batman.

  6. I think Doc needs to bend the recruiting rules a little bit. We need good players to come to this University.
  7. We need someone on our team that can step up in tough situations and score whenever we really need points. Only Jeter scored double digits (barely, just 10).
  8. couldn't have said it any better than that.
  9. Well now we have 1 shot at dancing. By winning the Big 12 tourney.......Hello NIT.
  10. Anybody with a xbox 360 ever use something called the towel trick for the red rings of death? The red rings are a real pain sometimes. After about the 3rd time it just gets ridiculous.

Yes, I tried that technique the last time I had an XBOX go out on me. It was also the third time and I was desperate. There are videos on youtube that show you how to do it. It actually worked for me. XBOX lasted another month or two. Eventually the whole thing crapped out and I bought a PS3. Best decision I ever made and haven't looked back since...

I did it 2 years ago and the Xbox is still working today with no problems. It is not a fix, it is kind of dangerous and there is no way to tell how long it will work. Best bet is to send it away if you really want it fixed. I have also heard good things about the guys that advertise on craiglist. I also have a PS3 that I love, but the Xbox is still the best online game play next to the PC.

It'll work for a bit, but once it craps out again, nobody's gonna be able to fix it.

  11. I can get u a job in Omaha, but you'd prob hate your life... Lol. Why's that? Cause you'd be working with rotten kids and waking up at 6 a.m. The place I work is hiring. I thought you just hated your boss.

  13. Come on, he's 2nd leading scorer and vital to the team. Let him gain 15 more pounds in the offseason and he will have more size/strength which will help a lot on rebounding. He's had a bad moment or two but he's definitely not one of the problems. My ass he is vital to the team. Diaz is the worst big man I've ever watched play. He gets owned most games by players that are way smaller than him. He can't rebound worth a crap, he is clumsy, terrible ball handler, and he is about as bad as Shaq at free throws. The only compliment I can give him is that he has a decent quick hook shot that gets him points, but that is it. I don't think 15 pounds would do much good either. He could weigh as much as Almeida and he would still suck. And your solution is to what, pay Jared Sullinger to come play here? I never said he was a dominating force inside, I simply said he's an important part of the team we have now. My solution would be bench him. I don't think Almeida is very good either but Almeida is wayyyyy better than Diaz. I disagree that he is important to the team right now, every game I have watched this season, Nebraska plays better when he is not on the floor. I'd say they are equal especially considering Almeida's conditioning issues which are just about the exact opposite of Diaz's. Diaz can't fight for rebounds; Andre can't run up and down the court for 6 minutes. Almeida finds himself out of position on defense quite a lot too (although he is getting a lot better at that. And FWIW I do think that Almeida has more potential than Diaz does.) I have been to 15+ games this season, and I have seen no evidence that Nebraska is a worse team with Diaz out there, and clearly Doc hasn't either. So I am going to say I disagree with you and leave it at that. Well agree to disagree. Almeida actually requires the opponents defense to pay more attention to him when the huskers are on offense because no one could stop him from backing in all the way to the hoop by themselves. This allows more athletic players on the husker team get better scoring opportunities. Nobody needs any extra help to stop Diaz, so we don't get as many opportunities to get better scoring looks when he is in the game. Plus once Diaz gets the ball in the post, nobody will see the ball until the next possession. He either turns the ball over, shoots a quick hook shot, or gets fouled only so he can miss two free throws.

  19. Nobody on the Lakers has to care about Dirk. Let him score 50. Shutdown the other 4 guys, and Dirk can be Jesus Christ and a f*cking death ray, and it won't matter. Dirk is one guy, you don't worry about him. The Lakers could slow it down, play half court, and just pound them to death down low. They can't stop Dirk, Kidd, Terry and now Peja too. I trust Kidd guarding Kobe. And Chandler guarding Bynum. Dirk just has to slow down Gasol bc there is no way Gasol can keep Dirk contained on defense. Besides, Dallas already beat Lakers this season. And Dallas would be in first place if Dirk wasn't hurt for like 10 games earlier this season. Ok, first of all Kidd guarding Kobe, that is a joke unless Dallas wants Kobe to set a new single game playoff record for most points. Peja was not even a problem when he was actually good when he played with the Kings. Jason Terry is a catch and shoot player, as long as someone always stays on him, he won't be a problem. Chandler will limit Bynum a little bit, but they can move Gasol to center and Odom to power forward to solve that problem. Plus Odom would do a better job on Dirk too because he is quicker than Gasol and more athletic so he can limit Dirk better than Gasol. Don't forget it is the playoffs. Kobe has more rings than the entire Maverick franchise.
  20. He played for the Australian National team in the FIBA World Championships I believe. They got 10th place, but still he played at one of the biggest stages of basketball.
  21. Did you know that 80% of statistics are made up on the spot. This is only true 50% of the time though.
  22. that reminds me of everyone saying pretty much the same thing against KSU the last game. not sure what to make of that. I think it means the worst is still yet to come.
  23. 8 time NBA All Defensive First Team (consecutive) 3 time NBA All First Team 7 time NBA All Star Named to the 50 greatest in NBA History What the hell else do you want?? Turn water into wine, bat clean up so the Cubs can win a world series, seriously? I think he is saying Pippen wouldn't be an All-star in todays day and age when all the all-stars average close to 25 a game. And even with Pippen, its still only a big 2, not a Big 3. I think every good team needs one star, one really good role player and some other good supporting casts. With the Bulls it was MJ was the star, Pippen was the really good role player and Kerr, Kukoch, Longley, etc. were the good supporting cast. I don't like how every team is just getting three star players now, either. I like Dallas bc they are so good, play really good defense and their only All-star is Dirk. And now they have Peja on their team to help with the scoring. Dallas will win the NBA championship this year. I hate the Lakers, but it's gonna be them and the Celtics in the Finals... To much size for teh Mav's in a 7 game series.. I agree with you on that. Go Lakers!!!
