  1. Trump is leading in polls in the very red states. But in states that are usually contested, like Ohio, Clinton is up by a few percentage points. She's up by 5 in Florida. There have only been 2 polls in Arizona but she's up by 3.5 there. Romney won Arizona by 9. I don't think Trump will take anything that Obama won last time. But as Trump says he hasn't even started attacking her yet. Kinda think that'll give her a bigger lead, though. I think anyone who is going to hate Clinton and not vote for her, already hated her a long time ago. But we'll see what happens with the investigation. Just found a Utah poll (only 1 though) and Clinton is leading by 2 with likely voters.
  2. I thought it was decent but wasn't interested enough to get the sequel. Have you read the Wheel of Time series? I think my problem with The Name of the Wind was that there wasn't much of a lure pulling me through the book. In many ways it felt like a slow biography, and I never really felt the urge to keep turning the pages. I described it to a buddy of mine as if someone was writing my life's story but included days I went to get an oil change or binge-watched Netflix. They certainly describe my person, but they don't make for great reading. And I have not heard of the Wheel of Time series. I'm always looking for a good fantasy series though, particularly something that's really immersive. Would you recommend it? Yes. ("Moiraine" is a character in WoT). It's a 14 book series. The first 4 books are better than anything else I've ever read. I liked the whole series but some people did not like books 7-10. It picks up again after that. It took me about 100 pages into the first book to get hooked and then I read the rest that were out at the time in about 2 weeks. http://www.amazon.com/Eye-World-Wheel-Time-Book/dp/0812511816/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1462293687&sr=8-1&keywords=eye+of+the+world I think the only reason the first book has 4 stars instead of 5 out of 5 is because of what I mentioned with the later books. There are a lot of "this book is great, but..." reviews. Books 2-4 are all 4.5/5. (Book 4 is my favorite).
  3. Is it hard to guess who Jon's mom(parents) are from the TV show? I mean, who do you guys think she(they) are? I think it's kind of obvious from the books, but hasn't been stated outright so it's still just an opinion. (Although I feel 90% sure about it). I haven't watched the past 2-3 season of GoT yet so I don't know what they've said about it if anything. I won't comment on your comments if it seems they haven't hinted.
  4. I visited East Campus many times just to get good cafeteria food.I visited many times for ice cream and bowlingEast Campus is where my department is but I haven't gone bowling there yet. The new rec center seems pretty nice. Anyhow, to answer the question, no. That seems kinda crazy to me. Although I regretted attending the first I went to even after having visited.
  5. Why would we need to be? An 18-year-old vs a 5th year senior? That's quite a head start regardless of a young player's potential. Plus, people are so concerned about someone having playing experience (regardless of how substantial or meaningful it is), Tanner Lee has plenty of it. If I had to place money on it, I'd bet Lee is the 2017 starter. dude,if a walk on AND a transfer keep POB on the bench, we got fooled big time! First off, if you're referring to Fyfe as a walk on, he is on a scholarship. Furthermore, he is graduating this year and won't be a part of next year's battle. Second, that "transfer" QB has 19 starts under his belt and will be eligible to play two years at Nebraska. Why is it somehow Earth shattering if he beats out POB? I have not seen one article or evaluation of POB that suggests he is the second coming of Peyton Manning, It wouldn't even matter if there were lots of articles saying he's the 2nd coming of Peyton Manning. True Freshman aren't always great even if they end up being great later. There's nothing terribly concerning about him not beating out Fyfe. In fact, even if POB is slightly better than Fyfe in the fall I still think Fyfe should be the 2nd QB who plays in the game so we don't burn POB's redshirt. Unless of course something happens that we have to have a back up for the long term.
  6. I posted something on my FB back when Trump was full force on his anti-Muslim schtick, saying I'd rather die in a terrorist attack committed by a Muslim than ban Muslims from entering the country. So no. I think it's overrated. It should be a concern but there will always be crazies out there no matter what we do. There should be a limit to the "what."
  7. I'm a teacher. So ditto. Hugs It's okay. I'm just a teacher 'til the end of this week. (I'm a T.A. and graduating).
  8. I'm fine with schools like TCU and Alabama doing it. It's not worth nearly as much to them as it is to a school like Nebraska
  9. For the 3rd question it depends on the situation. I've been there. There's a reason the people who live there live there. If they want to live in a place with that type of job then they would already live there.
  10. It's not scandalous. It's what I said it was. I guess it's okay to change quotes in order to make a point now. I'm gonna have to try it.
  11. I hate bird shows. They are too parroty. You guys have to make a damn joke about everything!!! Pull my finger! You know...Without Riley around none of the players would know how to pull a finger. You should change your name to annoyingcd. Damn it.
  12. You were clearly mocking anyone who thinks a running back's carries are a factor in their being drafted, and mocking anyone who thinks quotes shouldn't be altered to help someone make their point.
  13. Hey everybody. It's common courtesy when having a discussion (whether on football or otherwise) to post an actual quote when you call it an actual quote. It's not a quote if you edit the "quote" to make it say something different. For example, here is the real quote that darkhorse edited: One could argue that the fact it's on NFL.com makes it a good enough argument that it was due to ST. You maybe didn't even need to delete the "possibly" from it. It's still a lame move though. Also, teacher you're once again stretching things way beyond what anyone said. I don't think I said Bo getting fired is why Jano got into the NFL. W/o looking I believe I said Jano got drafted because of the change in offensive style. I don't see why this comment is so controversial or hard to believe. Yeah but everybody knows that the most important part of any group of text is the last thing said..... The problem wasn't that he deleted the first sentence. It was that he deleted the word "possibly" from the last sentence.

I don't see why this comment is so controversial or hard to believe. Bo getting fired didn't result in Janovich getting drafted, directly. It was the hire of Riley that did it. No one can argue that. It's basically being argued right here that it had nothing to do with his rushing, which implies to me that they think it has nothing to do with Riley. Or are people arguing Bo wouldn't have used him in ST? Bo DID use him on ST. Almost exclusively. As in not at all in the regular offense. I am sure the carries he got showed some athleticism that would have not been showcased without Riley being the HC. That's what I thought. Thanks.
  15. He may have made the NFL but I doubt he would have been drafted. It's important to have game film. For a FB he got a lot of carries. Usually only 1 or 2 FB get drafted before the 6th round so to imply his getting a lot of carries was unimportant or that he didn't get many for a fullback seems like a stretch.Jano got drafted for ST ability and run blocking much more than his ability as a runner. And his awesome level of tenacity and effort. Dude is a "football player."That may be true but I don't think it would have been noticed if not for the attention he received because of the rushing he had, and in particular a couple of the runs he had. Just like most back ups don't get noticed and drafted unless they do some kind of production on the field. Jano didn't get invited to the combine for his ST ability or his run blocking. Maybe those got noticed after they saw the runs, but they didn't say "whooooaaa that dude made some great tackles on the kickoff team. We need him at the combine!" His ST play is important but it's not why he was noticed by NFL scouts. They drafted a dude from Germany...that learned about football on Youtube...I am guessing that Jano's 25 carries on the season didn't really impact much when it came to him getting noticed or not.Wooo anecdotal evidence over tendency! Let's ignore years of FB draft picking and find a cinderella story about a non football guy. Maybe once every other year this happens. Also, I just looked the guy up and you're leaving sh#t out. He's still an unlikely pick but he's been playing football 4 years. But clearly as a fullback Jano's rushing had nothing to do with him getting drafted. Btw, he blocked a hell of a lot more in 2015 than in 2014 due to the offense as well.

  20. I thought it was decent but wasn't interested enough to get the sequel. Have you read the Wheel of Time series?
  21. One can not care about a topic and still discuss it without pretending to care. Now onto a more important topic. One which bothers me enough that I've probably posted about it before. I have a huge pet peeve when it comes to public restrooms. If I enter a place with 10 stalls and they're all empty, it's okay to pick any stall but the wheel chair one. But there are rules the 2nd person needs to abide by to avoid being considered a freak. At least by me. There are now 9 empty stalls to choose from. Do not, under any circumstances, pick the stall next to me. This happens to me an astounding number of times. What the hell is wrong with people? Are they so afraid of being alone that they have to pee right next to a stranger??
  22. What would his race have to do with anything? No one thinks Gerry is less of a football player because he's white. It was ignorant of him to even bring up.For once I don't disagree with cm. Anytime questions about speed or quickness come up, they're usually about the "High I.Q. Guys" or the "coaches on the field" or the "real team players" or the "hard workers during the off season." I.e. the White guys. That doesn't mean Gerry's not slow and it doesn't mean that's what's happening here but it happens often enough that there probably is something going on there. It also happened with Westerkamp in this thread. Maybe it's not that it happens with White dudes but that you don't often hear people saying a Black player is slow. Okay but literally no one in this thread said anything about Gerry being slow because he's white. And no one in the thread is saying that anyone ever directly says that a player is slow because he's White. Nor do people directly say that a player is high IQ, a team player, or a coach on the field because they're White. But the thing is, those comments are almost exlusively used for White players whether they're accurate or not.
  23. And I've already said it before, women can be peeping "Toms" too. There's nothing to stop a woman from watching me while I pee except thin cracks in the stall door. There are also plenty of male sexual predators who are interested in men. I also feel like this is the last place a sexual predator would try something like that.
