  1. I'm moving in July/August and want to have a power rack. I've done a lot of research but I'm wanting to get other opinions. I found one that comes with a lat pulldown, which is something I want, but the pulley system has gotten a lot of bad reviews. This is the one I'm currently looking into getting, and adding the dip attachments: http://www.amazon.com/Super-Power-Squat-Cage-NYB/dp/B00QZ2G7FY http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005FMSAOQ There is a lat attachment I could buy for the above rack. It's $300 though. The one that had bad pulley reviews: http://www.amazon.com/Power-Rack-Lat-Pull-Attachment/dp/B002EJC990 Overall the reviews are good for this one but if I'm going to pay $450 I want the lat pulldown to be good.
  2. It never ceases to amaze me how stupid this guy is. Or maybe how genius he is at understanding his followers.
  3. I hadn't heard about this 'til I read your post. There's nothing wrong with telling kids not to go to parties with lots of alcohol in a certain context, but the context in which he said it is important. He specifically told a woman who wanted to know how to avoid rape what she should do. So the implication here is that alcohol causes rape and boys will be boys. Another implication is that women can't do things the guys can or they'll get raped. It's similar to telling girls not to dress sexy. If they dress sexy they're just asking to be raped. It's more sexist against guys than girls imo.
  4. You should change your name to CmPlus1 No one dislikes cm because he's not a sunshine pumper.
  5. I think I understand the point that's trying to be made, but it's not being made. Bernie is doing nothing wrong by paying 13.5%. What he claims is wrong is that people who make as much as he makes are allowed to only pay 13.5%. That's what he wants to change.
  6. Abrams gave a huge spoiler about Rey's parents. Edit: Then takes it back? *rolleyes*
  7. Yes. Let's start talking rumors about one of our newest recruits and/or Calabasas coaches. This is a really good idea.
  8. so we get highly ranked recruits from a school....and you feel obligated to denigrate their coach? fwiw....private high schools all over the country do recruit players. It's a public high school. This is Casey's older brother. And yes, he strikes me as a dirtbag, which is a sentiment shared by many here in the LA area. can i get a complete list of who can and who can not be called a "dirtbag"? As long as they're not a member of this forum, anyone and everyone can be called a dirtbag.
  9. I really wish Warren would have run for President. I would've felt proud to vote for her. I'm guessing she thought she had no chance against Clinton, and maybe that's true.
  10. Ok, well, I really was hoping some one else is into Saul and The Americans and this thread wouldn't be polluted with zombies, I'll keep mu fingers crossed.....I love Saul.BB was better tho. I love me some roof pizza. Never saw BB, can you give me a brief synopsis? didn't he go around killing peeps and dissolving their bodies or something--for pay?Lol. Yeah that was pretty gross, and in the first season, too. The rest of the series isn't that gory/disgusting. There's more killings, but it's the situations that are tense and gripping, not so much gratuitous graphic images like that. There have been very few shows that would cause my heart to race and literally yell at the TV cheering for or against someone like this one did. Hmm, maybe I can go catch the series online at some point. Did the series end, and why? Yes, because they actually had a story to tell and wrapped it up. It's a near universal opinion that each season is better than the last. Everybody has good things to say about it.It's funny you mentioned that bathtub/dissolving scene. What really disturbed me was the situation in an earlier scene in which he killed that guy. They seemed to befriend and sympathize with each other, but Walt killed him anyway. That to me was very unsettling, more than the liquified remains. I thought the bathtub crashing through the floor was great dark humor.I'm reading on phone so can't check if someone's replied already. Walt had to kill him or go to jail. Those were the choices. He discovered that Domingo had taken a piece of the broken plate and was going to stab and kill him when be approached to let him go, which is exactly what he did. But Walt was ready. The first time I watched the bathtub scene I was drinking a dark red smoothie of the same consistency as the remains.
  11. It's not misguided. It's going on actual data. Unless you think I'm saying those jobs are meant for women, which I'm not. The proportion of male teachers has actually decreased over the years. But it is about 40% for secondary schools. The fact is there is a discrepancy, as someone posted earlier that it's around 9% when accounting for other factors. This is something that should continue to be fought for until it's close to 0%. But that doesn't mean it's not exaggerated. One thing I read about a couple years ago is that women in college who are just as capable/do as well as their male counterparts feel less confident about their own abilities. Another study I read say that boys and girls have super high confidence in their abilities until they're around 10, then it drops for both but more severely for the girls. Then they both gradually recover but the men reach their child confidence peak again around age 50 and women never fully get back to it.
  12. To the first bolded, do women do jobs that pay less, or did the jobs pay less because women were the ones doing them? I have no idea. I read an article that tried to show pay got less as fields increased the number of women, but most of the article was pretty crappy. For instance they were comparing some kind of HR job to Information Technology. I'm sorry but Info Tech is harder than HR, so comparing those to make the point doesn't work. There were far more men in InfoTech and they got paid more, but that's because it's a more difficult field. But I'm thinking about teachers and nurses. I see no reason why teachers should get paid as little as they do. It's easy to get a teaching degree, but that's because the pay doesn't attract many smart people. Not because the job is easy. Don't get me wrong; I'm not calling teachers dumb. I'm just saying that dumb people can become teachers. I know this from firsthand experience in my teacher education classes. There were loads of ed. students who couldn't even string a coherent paragraph together. Luckily there are some smart people out there who become teachers despite the low pay. That was sort of a segue. Anyhow, I like to think things will normalize eventually. I mean, women have only been working a variety of jobs for about 40 years now. Before then they were teachers or nurses for the most part. So we shouldn't expect an immediate change. Men now in their 60s didn't grow up having women doing the same jobs as they did or having women as their bosses. My mom told me a couple weeks ago when she was in high school they would tell the students that men got paid more over their lifetimes and women got paid less and that's the way it was and there was nothing wrong with it. That wasn't that long ago. She still works. (She's a boss but in a female-dominated job). To the second bolded, women are also not used to having female bosses. That's my guess for the why. If you grow up never seeing that and aren't used to it, then you might see it as something you don't want. Even if you're a woman.
  13. The good test of whether 78% is good for 2015 is to look at the 2015 results with one predictor variable; team A is ranked higher than team B in each game. If you pick the highest rated team to win every game and it gives similar or better than 78% accuracy, then 78% accuracy isn't good. I'm too lazy to do this though.
  14. Didn't jamis Winston get admitted to Stanford? Shaw seems like an idiot. How is what he said even relevant? The issue isn't whether every single team in the NCAA wants to do it. Nobody is forcing anyone to hold these camps. He may as well just be honest and say he wants to keep the advantage he has with satellite camps being banned which is being located in a recruiting hotbed and not allowing any high school kids to show their talent to outside schools.
  15. That's not a positive with everyone. Not everyone wants to stick with their high school friends when they go to college. And if I'm being neutral, if I had a 4.0 in high school it'd be really hard to turn down playing football at Stanford. Plus he's not neutral. He's in the same state.
  16. Your posts or the tweet? I understand your need to resort to personal attacks. Well done. lol
  17. Here's a gem I found on accident. He lost the popular vote by a lot and won the election. We should have a revolution in this country!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) Nov 7, 2012 The phoney electoral college made a laughing stock out of our nation. The loser one!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) Nov 7, 2012 He seems bad at numbers.
  18. It's possible to be against how primary voting works, think that how both major parties are going about things is wrong, and still not like Trump at all. It's also possible to be against campaign funding, happy that there are people who won't take money from big corporate donors, and also think that an individual who isn't owned by any corporations could still be terrible for the country by using his/her own opinion. Now onto a semi-related topic. I'm getting a little tired of hearing the complaints about how wrong and unfair what the Democrats and Republicans are doing to Sanders and Trump is (mostly on Facebook). They do a lot of wrong and unfair things. This isn't one of them. Sanders has been a Democrat for a year. He's only a Democrat to get votes. He knew he couldn't get enough votes as an Independent. Trump has been a Republican for maybe 4-5 years (don't know off the top of my head). He's running as a Republican to get votes. They are both using these machines that they aren't really a part of. They're using the two parties for their own gain. The two parties can make whatever rules they want for their primaries. Any political party can set up their own primaries to pick their top candidate. Then it's up to the people to vote in the general election. (Although then you have the electoral college but that's another topic). What is actually wrong is all of the money involved with those two parties, campaign funding, and how they own the media. (i.e. they get free coverage). By the time the general election comes around, they've gotten tons of exposure from the primaries. Reform will never happen. Protections against money's involvement in politics have been dwindling since the 1970s. So toppling these two parties as the only ones in the game is a mammoth task.
  19. I don't. There are two reasons I don't like watching the NFL. One of them is that so many of the teams make it to the playoffs, so they really only need to win 8 or 9 games during the season. I would hate it if 16 teams made the NCAA Playoffs. When I was a kid I used to actually pray for teams ahead of Nebraska to get knocked off. I watched every game between teams ranked ahead. I even figured out after we lost to Colorado which teams needed to lose to who for us to still make it to the championship game. All of that goes away if the playoffs expand that far. I'm okay with a 6 team playoff but not more. Last year I watched 1 NFL football game.
  20. I don't know about that. (I didn't) But if the program he's in is better at Kentucky he should go to Kentucky.
  21. I kinda hated that 'cause it would be awful to experience. You're out in public showering and can't see anything because there's shampoo in your eyes and nothing will make it go away. That being said I watched 3 of the videos...
  22. I think Turner was a top 10 mobile QB recruit. I looked it up a couple years ago. I remember being excited about Darlington. You didn't answer my question. I don't expect to get two in one class. Not sure what your pint is with the question. Some years we didn't even get one. There wasn't a point to the question besides wanting to know the answer to it. The reason I wanted an answer to the question is because I thought you were implying in the quote below that it's normal for teams to land 2 QBs.
