  1. You my fellow Husker fan are delusional. I don't think you know what the word delusional means.
  2. I don't remember a lot of the details but France is very strict in how they deal with foreigners. They want to make sure everyone conforms to everything French so they don't lose their identity. There are laws on how much French music has to be played on the radio, for example. I'm guessing Muslim women have way less rights on when/where they can wear a hijab. http://www.migrationpolicy.org/article/french-government-revives-assimilation-policy/ So strict that what happened on Saturday is just another bump in the road right? "What difference does it make"! What are you trying to say? It's hard to know sometimes. I didn't even state an opinion about anything in that post.
  3. Some are way more biased than others. When it takes me looking at one link in the article to find out they're basically making things up, then there's a problem. When the headline for the entire site is taking a shot at the other side, then there's a problem. You have to take what they say with a grain of salt. The main thing is you have to look deeper into what they're saying than just take it on face value. That's what you should do regardless of where the article/story is from.

  5. I think everyone assumed the Big12 were being a*holes. It was pretty suspicious that they had Missouri playing Iowa instead of Nebraska playing Iowa. There's no way that bowl thought it was a better match up.
  6. See that's the thing, I'm not asking about some Joe Blow who is entirely devoid of the physical tools to play in the NFL. Like you. Or me. I'm asking about Tommy. He's clearly athletic enough. And he has a strong enough arm. He just lacks accuracy. That, and he's prone to force throws that sometimes end up in picks. So, back to my question: If Tommy could gain some accuracy--say, Ganzesque accuracy--and throw fewer picks, would he play Sundays? This will be a tad anecdotal, but, I've heard pro scouts and talent evaluators at the college and professional levels say accuracy is one of the most challenging things to correct, if not the most challenging. In most cases, players either have it or they don't. I don't believe you're trying to downplay the significance of accuracy at all; but, "just lacks accuracy" is monumental when it comes to describing a quarterback. TA is a 53.7 percent career passer with a 1.6 TD/INT ratio. I think a reasonable goal for him would be to try and get his completion percentage up to around 57-59 percent by the end of his senior season. But, this also ignores the criticism that he's not very good checking down to his other receivers, which is crucial in the NFL. And the criticism that he can't throw the ball out of bounds. He just is not a good decision maker in general.
  7. What negates it to me is we had 1 hard fought game against them. To me, a rivalry is a long series of games that are hard fought. We've been blown out by Wisconsin 3 times and beat them once. The Iowa games have also been close, but we've won 3 out of 4. A rivalry to me can't have lots of lopsided wins and an unbalanced win-loss record.
  8. I don't understand why you're assigning discrete numbers to these things. If I'm understanding right, 2 teams can get a 0.25 in the same category even if they have different numbers for that category. It makes more sense to me to use their ranking in each and divide by the total number of teams. For example if Nebraska is 25th in pass defense then their number would be 25/118 (or however many teams there are)
  9. They were co-champs, Oklahoma won the tie-break. Are they really a co champ if Oklahoma won the tie break?
  10. Well that's severely disappointing... It's not the case though. If we beat them we'll be 4-1 against them since joining the conference. If we lose then they will be closer to becoming a rival.
  11. Ya, it's not like Obama has done anything to try to prevent any of this. What the f#*k, man? He could have just let the middle east deal with ISIS like lots of people were saying he should do.
  12. The murder rates of African-Americans in Chicago and Baltimore. The president is not all powerful. But if you want to blame him for every bad thing happens then you should be blaming him for every good thing that happens as well. But here you go: Last 4 years are the first 4 years of his presidency. And hey, rape decreased faster under Clinton and Obama so clearly that was all them. Correlation, causation, etc. And hey, the jerk made our gas prices go up just so he could bring them back down. What was that about? Conclusion: Not everything good that happens in the U.S. is the president's fault. Not everything bad that happens in the U.S. is the president's fault.
  13. Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Syria, the West Bank, Israel, Lebanon, Russia, Pakistan, Turkey, The Philippines, Belgium, Denmark, Great Britain, Kenya, Somalia, Yemen, Ethiopia, Jordan, Indonesia, China, Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Canada, Norway, Nigeria, Germany, Bangladesh, Mali, Uzbekistan, India, Morocco, Maylasia, and Australia all have had problems with the Mohammedans within the last couple of years...so like you said, it the 90% of the bad apples that spoil it for the 10% who mind their own business and don't cause trouble. Is listing the names of a bunch of countries without any statistics supposed to refute the fact that most don't cause trouble?
  14. Not really excited about the prospect of playing Arkansas but I guess we shouldn't be picky.
  15. Ah ok. I guess last summer was the only time I heard about it.
  16. Have sacks been factored in as runs or passes in this math? Because if one takes the 24 sacks with the -162 yards and count them as pass plays instead of running plays, it looks like 6.22 yards per rushing attempt and 6.77 yards per passing attempt. That's very true. Nebraska's running game is actually better than the 4.7 number would imply, because it shouldn't be responsible for the sack total. But are you not comparing their running game to your perception of what a good running game is, based on what other teams have done in the past? Teams whose running stats include sack yards?
  17. Starting both of your scoring drives from your opponent's 6 and 32 yard lines helps keep the total yards down. It was a very stingy defense out on the field yesterday, and I hope we can continue to see that against Iowa. They've been in some dogfights week in and week out, which like Michigan State, makes you question how good they really are much like Nebraska's close losses makes you question how bad we really are. As I said with Michigan State in the week leading up to the game, there is bound to be some regression towards the mean: Iowa's more than likely not as good as they've been playing this season and Nebraska's more than likely not as bad as they've been playing this season. Playing at home with a chance to knock off another undefeated team, Top 10 team, and a chance to get to .500 on the year by winning their final three games, I'm thinking this team will be fired up and play a really solid game. One thing's certain: the crowd is going to be into this one, even if it is at 11am. I thnk we are a better team than Iowa, but we shoot ourselves in the foot too often. We can beat Iowa, but I think the game is a toss up. That makes us not a better team. Maybe potentially a better team. Still think we will beat them though.
  18. lol. He did that one time but that was my immediate thought as soon as I heard about it. Training with Favre might not be a good idea.
  19. Here's one very easy and specific example. Multiple studies have been done to show that when looking at job applications with the exact same resume and experience, employers are much more likely to hire someone with a white anglo-saxon sounding name compared to someone with a black sounding name. Look into socioeconomic status, and how important it is in a child's development. Low SES kids start off with less knowledge when they begin kindergarten because their parents are less likely to have graduated high school or college. I saw a study once that showed low SES children at the age of 2 know far less words than children of middle class parents. To see how this relates to the question: Another important thing is how our schools are funded. A large part of it is based on income in the area. So the $ spent on educating poor kids is a lot less than the $ spent on educating middle class and wealthy kids. And again, looking at the chart shows how it relates to some races not getting what "other races get." This is a vicious cycle because, since the kids start off on the wrong foot, and then they go to schools with a lot less funding, they themselves are less likely to graduate high school or go to college. Im not talking about outside of college. Im talking about in college. What are they not receiving that others are? Alot of colleges have standards, especially private ones. If you dont have the grades to get in then thats the way it is. The problem is at the elementary/high school level. I don't know. I don't know whether they are often discriminated against or not, by the universities or by the people they go to college with. What I do know is that there are going to be people who imagine it or lie about it. On the other end of the spectrum, it annoys the crap out of me when people just assume that's what's happening and write everything off by saying "they're treated just as good as we are!" That isn't something we actually know. IMO many of the demands that are being made are for extra help (ex. the increased retention stuff) which I'm okay with because of what I posted about how a large % of minority populations start their lives off. So, are they demanding lowering the standards for everyone? Let's say I am a white student from a home with pathetic parents. Do I get special treatment? Everyone needs to make dang sure discrimination does not exist in admissions and once in school. But, you have a private school that some want to force to have lower standards for black kids? I don't think making attempts to improve attrition for groups that have bad attrition is lowering standards for the groups that have good attrition. Same goes for some of the other things they want changed. One I'm not sure of (from Missouri) is increasing the % of black professors to 10. If blacks consist of 12% of the population and have a poor graduation rate, I'm not sure where that 10% of the faculty is going to come from. Imagine if they wanted that everywhere. If they did manage to get 10% of the faculty to be African American, chances are they wouldn't all be well qualified.
  20. I would think it would be easy to find links and quotes for this concerted effort. Please do so. It doesn't exist. I guess Obama not using it means he's trying to make us not use it.
  21. It is strange that you focused on Jano yet you ignored the main thing from my post and that is Ozigbo. I guess you have no answer but just wanted to attack the post anyway. He disagreed that Jano is underutilized. How the hell is that an "attack?" Did you stop to think that maybe he didn't reply about Ozigbo because he either agrees with you?
