  1. agree, Newby lacks Ameer vision, clearly, maybe he will improve, but 28 carries each game and he wont make it half way through the schedule. Ameer was very good but not great until his senior season.
  2. We lost a game, and didn't blow them out last year at home. We also lost 4 of our 5 best players. Not insane. And Miami lost .....? I guarantee Miami fans know we lost Abdullah, Gregory, and (maybe) Bell. I doubt many Husker fans know the names of the players Miami lost. Therefore, the same can probably be said for people betting on the game. Dunno why I'm posting this a 2nd time. I've already discussed it earlier in the topic.
  3. Awesome pics, thanks for sharing. I remember there being some debate about the stylized football over the big screen. Looking at in these pics, at night, I think it looks absolutely awesome. The cool thing about it is you can see it from 16+ blocks south of the stadium.
  4. This isn't about how we or I feel about the two teams. It's about how the average person who bets on this stuff feels. I can't name any of their linemen (the ones they lost or the ones they have). Are people betting going to care about that? They do know about the big names, though. Nationally, a large number of people knew about Abdullah and Gregory, and quite a few probably knew about Bell. They also likely don't know about our returning or new receivers except for perhaps Westerkamp.
  5. They've done the same thing as we have, which is nothing. Except people know who Bell, Abdullah, Gregory, and DPE are, and know that we lost them.
  6. Ameer has the most rushing and receiving yards for Detroit right now. I don't think Bell is going to keep the starting RB job very long. Even without Ameer's long run he'd be averaging more per carry than Bell.
  7. Home field advantage isn't just about having a loud crowd. It's also about the other team not being in their own stadium. The two polls agree with this. They both have Miami with more votes than Nebraska.
  8. We lost a game, and didn't blow them out last year at home. We also lost 4 of our 5 best players. Not insane.
  9. Based on what I saw of him in HS, I find that hard to believe. See Johnny Stanton.
  10. He's not good enough to play running back ahead of our other running backs. Why is this so hard to understand for some people?
  11. Color me shocked... The truth is a very bitter pill to swallow. So, is AS now some dark horse for the playoff? No, we were expected to beat them and beat them bad and that is exactly what we did. We did what we were supposed to. What else did you want to see other than Pelini on the sidelines? Sorry, I didn't see a whoop ass performance tonight. And since you obviously don't pay attention I don't care if Bo is on the sideline. I guess I remember what the 80's and 90's were. This was no whoop ass. We gave up a lot of yards and big plays. The offense was mostly pedestrian against a sub par opponent. I'm not ready to crown this team as playoff ready. No one really cares what you think, because regardless of what happens, you're negative. We could win the national championship and you'd find something to complain about it. You'd either cry about how we did it or you'd whine that we didn't win a national championship in both football and basketball.
  12. I did notice during the BYU game, they were going through the list of top 10 teams and talked about 3 different teams winning in the last second, or whatever. And they pretended the Auburn game didn't happen
  13. BYU just had another amazing touchdown with < 1 minute left in game, down by 3, 4th down and 7 from 35 yard line.
  14. OMG. Maybe because we wanted to have him practice throwing it instead of handing it off over and over. Maybe because the backup QB needs some development. Great topic.
  15. Imani isn't good. He needs a clean run for 3-4 yards to make a nice gain. He's decent but I get tired of the obsession some people have over him.
  16. You all suck for not paying attention to this game and posting about it. 24-21 BSU 4th quarter.
  17. The top 25 is meaningless. We saw it last year, it has evolved to a committee. They are all that matters, and they aren't the types to give a sh#t about the polls. That's incorrect. Just because there is a playoff committee does not mean they are not influenced by the polls. In fact, based on their early rankings last year, I suspect that that's where they start. Would you say they were incorrect on the 4 teams that made it into the playoffs last year?
  18. Of course they're biased, but we've had this conversation a million times, and their front page is about boxing right now. If you go to their home page on college football, all of those stories are 1/3 of the page down.
  19. Obviously big plays are great. But if our turnover margin improves, we won't need to rely on them as much as we did in the past. Ideally we want homerun threat(s) + good turnover margin. We haven't had both in a long, long time.
  20. But they're still only winning 10-7. (I'm not actually watching the game yet, just looking at Gamecast)
  21. I think they should have taken him out one series earlier. Other than that I was fine with the amount of carries he got. I dunno why but I've always hated when coaches do running backs by committee. It never seems to work out as well as having one guy be The Guy.
  22. Let's go with that old favorite, we were going vanilla on D. We'll do crazy blitz packages to get more pressure on him so it won't matter if his receivers are open. I feel better already.
  23. Good week for the real Big Ten + Nebraska and Penn State. (I still hate that Maryland and Rutgers are in this conference)
