  1. Ditto... I really want Michigan to do well, but I'm seeing him having one of his terrible games where he throws 3 interceptions.
  2. One time I ran into Ndamukong Suh grocery shopping. He had a cart load of junk food. Little Debbies, Doritos, ect.. And there's this: http://blogs.wsj.com...try-it-at-home/ But we were talking about humans. Ndamukong Suh and Michael Phelps are freaks of nature. (I feel proud every time I spell Ndamukong right)
  3. Let's ban it now so it doesn't get going
  4. I'm no expert but that sounds idiotic to me. I can't think of many situations where eating a lot of sh***y food for a long period of time would be good for athletics. I'm officially sick of waiting now. I keep hearing all these things that make me feel more and more hopeful about the season. Now I'm sure we're going to win the national championship and the closest victory will be a 30 point squeaker over Alabama in the NC game.
  5. I've decided they voted to exclude Penn State this year.
  6. I realize people have different priorities. There are things I side with the Republicans on and things I side with the Democrats on. But farming is the most subsidized industry in the United States. The Republicans want a smaller federal government, but farmers receive subsidies and tax credits every year. I've had difficulty finding the exact amounts, but corn is the most subsidized crop (because of ethanol and junk food). From what I remember on all of the different websites I was looking at, it's around $10 billion per year (though they got rid of the big tax credit last year). Nebraska receives the 5th most $. And in case anyone's wondering, agriculture is 7% of Nebraska's economy. That might be why not a lot of people think it's important. I don't really know how I feel about it. On the one hand it helps Nebraska and people that I personally know, on the other hand I don't like that it goes towards creating crappy food. I also don't know how good ethanol is as a fuel source, since it takes quite a lot of oil to make it.
  7. And those donors don't care where the jobs are. Big business is international I'm curious, when does Ben Nelson vote with the Democrats?
  8. I'm not sure if you quite understand what critical thinking is. Making an argument personal is not critical thinking. He was merely making an observation. Usually when people play the "it's getting personal" card, it's because someone said something like "Your a dumb ass if you think you didn't lurn no critical thunking in science class," but I digress. When someone says they took a bunch of classes without "critical thinking" ever being mentioned, to prove that they didn't need it, it's easy to get the impression that they don't understand what it means. No one mentions critical thinking when they're trying to help students improve at it. It was a completely nonsensical thing to say.
  9. I wouldn't be surprised if we beat Idaho State by less than we beat the other three. I was just thinking the other day, our non-conference schedule was pretty indicative of how the season went last year. I'm hoping this year we really blow some people out. I'm tired of beating terrible teams with scores like 31-21. I want to see some shut outs.
  10. They're going to need an armed guard
  11. I don't actually know anything about it, but I think they were just talking about the "official" practices with coaches. So I'm assuming (again w/o knowing) that he didn't attend classes during the Spring, so he couldn't attend practices either.
  12. Haven't seen it yet. It always takes me awhile to get past Batman's idiotic voice. It makes me want to laugh. He sounds like a constipated 90 year old
  13. When I was looking for a picture of him I saw 3 different mugshots. Pretty sad
  14. That's like 1/3 of the team, and you have no idea what other stuff the others might be doing. Is this number all athletics? Or just FB. I'm assuming just football, since it starts out: "Wednesday, July 18, became an historic day for Nebraska football"
  15. That's like 1/3 of the team, and you have no idea what other stuff the others might be doing.
  16. Is this the guy you saw? He was taller
  17. This is sort of related so I'll just ask here, does anyone know of any 2013 recruits visiting now? I saw a couple football-shaped guys carrying Blackshirts binders today and they looked like they were being shown around campus.
  18. I agree, but losing David is worrisome. We couldn't contain mobile quarterbacks with him, and the thought of trying to contain them without him is scary. On the other hand, Bo doesn't believe in having someone staying on the quarterback (which David probably would have been good for) so maybe it won't be that big of a difference after all.
  19. That thread is over yonder, unless you're saying the players should wear cleats on their hands.
  20. No, it isn't. Or at the very least, you have no way of knowing that. Logically, it should be better than our current system of picking two teams. Having four teams highly increases the chances that there are two teams involved that deserve to be there.
  21. This is a bit of a stretch but it's a good effort. Some are only extensions so they don't provide any new assistance. And some are only available if certain conditions are met (hiring unemployed workers, providing health care, etc.) but any help is welcome. However, I'm curious if you read the entire article where it also talks about tax increases on small businesses that have gone into effect. I'm sure every situation is different but it appears to me that it could be a wash in a lot of cases. Just an FYI to any or all of you, keep in mind when "small businesses" are mentioned, that means up to 100 full time employees, at least in the Health Care bill. I think it goes up to 100 or 150 full time employees. Think about that for a minute. 100 full time employees and small business... I hate it when politicians from either side mention this and pretend like that's actually a small number. They know that the average person thinks of a small business as the local grocery store or auto repair shop. Those places might have 5 full time employees and 10 part time. They use that idea to get their points across but the idea in most peoples' heads isn't actually the same as what is in the bills they're speaking of.
