  1. That's enough. This is dangerously close to a personal attack. If you want to talk about each other, take it to the Woodshed. Guess I needed the j/k attached to it with a sarcasm tag. I joke around like this with my brother, my sister, and my best friends. :/ sorry if I offended anyone. You joke around with your sister about your sack. How... lucky she must feel. (I don't think the sarcasm tag would have helped)
  2. It's hard to see at the current resolution, but they're actually made from glued together toothpicks.
  3. are we planning on building more taller buildings around the stadium or something? No, and I find it unlikely we're going to build tall buildings because people like tall buildings.
  4. Explain how we are in a "far" worse situation than we were, because I'm not seeing that in the numbers yet. If our recruiting this year is on par with what it was last year then I can concede that it's a possibility, but we can recruit more players this year than we were able to last year. Ohio is a great place to recruit and we're focusing on it more now. The 2013 class has 3 commits from there already (and one from Texas). I don't see it as being drastically tougher than it ever was before. I just listed our recruiting ranks vs the Big 12. IMO, we were competitive, and Texas/Oklahoma/Texas A&M out-recruited us almost every year. We can still be competitive now. As for coaching, I agree with you. I haven't once argued that Nebraska will be consistently better than Michigan/Ohio State. I think Hoke is the real deal. He turned around two teams. I'm merely pointing out that thinking we can and should be a top 10 recruiting team that competes, in recruiting, with teams who have loads of talent in their backyards is going to give you an ulcer because it's not going to happen.
  5. Just going to post this before I get on with my point: 2008: 6th in the Big 12 in recruiting 2009: 4th 2010: 5th 2011: 2nd in Big 10 2012: 3rd in Big 10 I think several people need to just admit to themselves that Nebraska is NEVER going to be a consistent top 10 recruiting team. Callahan came close, but his teams' rankings (on rivals) were 5, 13, and 20. I'm very happy being consistently in the 10-30 bracket. We're in Nebraska. We lack sheer numbers of good in state players, and we have to convince people to come to Nebraska. Look at Michigan and Ohio State's lists of recruits: 2012 Ohio: 15 out of 25 from Ohio 60% (8 4-stars from OH, 1 5-star from OH) 2011: 12 out of 24 from Ohio 50% (6 4-stars from OH) 2012 Michigan: 8 out of 25 from Michigan 32% (4 4-stars from MI) 2011: 5 of 20 from Michigan 25% (3 4-stars from MI) 2012 Nebraska: 1 out of 17 from Nebraska 6% (3 star from NE) 2011: 3 of 20 from Nebraska 15% (2 4-stars from NE) Michigan actually looks somewhat similar, but they aren't. They are in a much more highly populated area in general. Nearly half of their recruits come from Ohio. People need to stop deluding themselves. We are at a disadvantage in recruiting. We have to do what we can to make up for it, but trying to compare ourselves to Michigan and Ohio and say we must be doing something wrong is just going to lead to depression. Michigan and Ohio State have to convince players to travel an hour or two away from home to play for them. Nebraska has to convince people from areas with nice weather and tons of different, fun activities to do to come and live in Nebraska. I don't care how awesome we think Nebraska is, we're not going to convince lots of 18 year olds of it. The "end of Nebraska as a power" isn't going to be because we aren't a consistently top recruiting team. That's been the case for years and it always will be.
  6. Lacking statistics for drops per throw, I have to say I completely disagree with you. I don't think our standards are any higher now than they were. As a team we seem to be dropping way more catchable throws than before. Without statistics I suppose this is just a matter of opinion, though. The dropsies are not an isolated incident like the Texas game. Kinnie basically inherited Niles Paul's problem. Overall we're not horrible the past few years if you exclude Kinnie & Paul. Maybe now that Kinnie is gone it will go better, but I thought the same thing would happen when Paul was gone.
  7. If Martinez could pass as good as, say, Tim Tebow. Would he have a chance then? No. He's not a power runner. Tim Tebow is basically a fullback who throws it sometimes.
  8. Weird. Notre Dame has always seemed like a Big 10 team, and they are right in the middle of Big 10 country
  9. You should be really ambitious and write something about past players with the uniform numbers in the countdown.
  10. Now all you have to do is slap the horseshoe often enough so that it wears out as much as the real one.
  11. You seem to have misunderstood my post. I said nothing about your opinion on Nebraska losing games. I was responding to "Why is it if you do not feel we are going to win every game, we are anti Bo hate Nebraska, need to root for another team and are band wagon fans." <-- I rarely have seen this response. I see the exaggeration much more often. That is the drivel I was referring to.
  12. Why is it that people continually spout this drivel? Do they think if they say it enough, it will be true? No one says the stuff you mentioned when people are sane about Pelini. It's the doomsday crap that gets this reaction.
  13. I read this too quickly and I'm tired so for a moment I thought 5'7 and 5'6 were their heights.
  14. we should change our name to the Nebraska Cookiemonsters and get rid of Lil Red Or if that's too much of a change, Nebraska Cookiehuskers. (I also considered Cornmonsters but I'm not digging it)
  15. It's not. I just find it funny when someone says something is official and puts stars by it. I'm sure it will be deleted
  16. But Michigan plays that same easy schedule this year. So that's not something we expect to change. Our OL is deeper? Are you using the same logic that led us to believe our DL was deep last year? That logic being "potential" and "should be". Huh? "This" year Michigan plays Alabama, Nebraska, Notre Dame & Ohio State on the road. Purdue on the road may not be a cakewalk also. Iowa, Michigan State & Air Force even at the Big House are no creampuffs either. Their schedule is wayyyyyyyy more difficult than last year. I believe he was referring to conference schedule, since the post before his mentioned the CCG.
